I wonder how did Vasher end up in Roshar before and what is he doing there. I wonder if he knew the existence of the shards or at least does he know the existence of his god Endowment.
-
I think Shardplate only interferes cause it's not the natural Knight Radiant shardplate but rather the discarded one. I suspect if this was the shardplate that radiants naturally got then it wouldn't interfere with their surgebinding just like how only the shardblade given by Nahel bond could give surgebinding not the dead spren shardblades.

I don't think Heralds can simply be killed by arrows judging from Taln ultra ridiculous reflexes and other abilities that Brandon implied they have. Also at the time in WoR when Nale got outplayed by the new emperor of Azir to not kill Lift he mentioned that praise Jezrein(in his Azir name) "if he ever stops drooling" that probably implies he's still alive.

I take Stormlight Archives fighters the strongest out of all cosmere. Of course with the exception of Fullborn or Inquisitors who can compound those people are just flat out broken. So i suspect Vasher is weaker than your standard fighter-radiant., it also kinda depends how much a heightening can a certain amount of standard intake of stormlight can give or if ever it can give anything at all. We don't know how lax Odium is when it comes to people using his investure. For sure apparently the shards of roshar are (the question is that if odium is included ) from a WoB. I think this was discussed before that he has a stock. I suspect no. Maybe he could do the "my breath to yours" trick when it comes to stormlight ? According to the cosmere timeline, Vasher shouldn't be that too long in Roshar. And the unlimited desolation has been happening like for like 6k years(not sure but it's been happening too damnation long) and i think those swordmanship style are just passed down generation by generation from Radiant/Herald fighting style.(Remember that in one of Dalinar's visions that one of the radiants noted him as he fights like a radiant which probably means the fighting style apart from his prowness in combat). I'm not too sure about the stormlight to awakening abilities too. I think stormlight just funds his "needs breath to live" not the actual abilities he gained from Shard Endowment.

Yeah the " Yes, there are no Splinters on Scadrial. " might be a classic misdirection by Mr. Sanderson. I'll keep that in mind.

I was more talking about brute force. I mean in this fantasy setting of cosmere Adonalsium seems to be literally god and so are the shard, they could change the genetics of an entire planet and could actually fling a planet into a sun if they wanted to within a wave of their hand and that's the power of the shard alone. So i was more arguing about the ability of humans vs ability of a literal shards since even the source of magic of the humans are from the shards. But i can totally see Humans assisted Adolnasium's eventual suicide(if the case was that Adonalsium power got himself killed and split into 16) but not raw power vs raw power.
-
Brandon Implied that there was a "force" involved in the shattering of adonalsium not Purely humans. No way powerless humans alone could murder a shard they have to use another shards power or help with another shard. I don't buy this humans ALONE killing shard theory unless they had help from another shard or the power of another shard like huge chunk.
-
I don't think Odium would die if he gets defeated in the desolation unless a shard tries to kill him after being weakened assuming he gets weakened after his champion loses or something. No way humans could kill a shard no matter what kind of arrangement they have, it has to be another shard or the power of another shard.

There's a problem with the Splinters of Ruin since it is confirmed that there are no splinters of Ruin or Preservation around era 2 confirmed with a WoB. Also though splinters may have slightly different intent i don't think it would be far off the original shard. Like Honorsprens are splinter of Honor and even other Radiant sprens are somewhat honorable on some level or some sense but are still splinters like Syl didn't see Pattern as evil even though she's disgusted with pattern.

How does the Final Empire compare to historical empires?
goody153 replied to asterion137's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I bet Rashek alone could murder those kingdoms slowly but he will eventually with feruchemy, godtier allomancy + compounding. His Soothing alone would probably make an entire army lose hope whenever he's around. Koloss might be really difficult to beat, i mean the smallest are like 6 ft with really huge strength/speed. And the biggest factor is that they don't feel fear. It's like a fearless barbarians that break gates without siege stuff and all are around 6-12 ft. also they swing like this oversized sword that may resemble a great sword. I think you may need actual army with guns and cannons to work well against them. Coinshots and mistborn spraying stuff isn't really effective against them that much. -
Well i like this level of being dark It's also not like emphasized on making grotesque details(or maybe not yet). Some proclaimed "dark" books i've read tend to be really grimmy with the physical details when those things don't really move me it's the disturbing with disturbing implication that get you to feel pity or anger not because of the gore yeah that's the stuff
-
Yeah pretty much Kenod says. I think as long as it doesn't clash with the intent and the vessel holding the shard isn't has 100% control over the power in a straight up 1v1 shard to shard clash(no tricks or weakening what not) like what Vin(Preservation) did with Ruin, it's pretty much who has the more power is gonna win even with the slightest advantage i suppose.

People i know who have read Malazan and Brandon Sanderson books keep saying Malazan is the best fantasy stuff they've ever read. So far so good but i can't help but feel this book is dark like even at the start lol
-
I've been reading the first book of Malazan of the Fallen. Kinda got hyped by it since everybody who read it had a really high impression of it.
-
Like Kenod said the well of ascension isn't enough to balance Ruin. Ruin is literally stronger due to the parts of preservation that Leras sacrificed to give sentience to humanity. Overall it's like this Preservation only contains like 87% power of a full shard(this is just hypothetical number in order to make comparison) and Ruin is like 97%(cause you know know Ruin has essence all over scadrial after all) something like that. (again this is not a real number just a hypothetical number to portray the status of both)

Yeah i thought it was a reference to Odium. Cause apparently he's watching that time or he has touch there that time. I suspect Odium might be too confident and prideful to hate himself. I mean his end goal is after all being sole and only shard in the Cosmere, i don't think he hates himself if he has plans like that. Szeth was more like angry to himself for he does not like murdering people yet he is forced to(or convincing himself that he is forced to).
-
Err the WoB literally stated " It does not block it. " when it comes to the bonding process which what you guys are trying to say. Syl was only uncomfortable with the Honorblade because of who was holding it who practically was murdering people and recking havoc which isn't very Windrunnery. And for somebody who's uncomfortable with the Honorblade she said to Kaladin about the Honorblade he got after the fight with Szeth "Be careful with it. It is a treasure.".

What the Hell Shallan? Also Kaladin.
goody153 replied to NathanielHellman's topic in Stormlight Archive
She is only legit cause we know she is legit(readers perspective like duh) but in the point of view of a captain of the guard she just lied to him as a Horneater princess and as far as when it comes to protection she's might have ulterior motives. It's a matter of perspective man. Kaladin would be the dumbest bodyguard ever if he still let somebody who lied to him blatantly get close to the people he's supposed to protect which that somebody also requested to get close to. I mean he's a storming patrol that time you don't lie to a patrol. When a police officer or a military personnel ask you about basic stuff do you lie to him/her as well ? Cause that's what just shallan did if stormlight archives was set in the real world. If you lie to a police officer/figure of authority then you are hiding something. You don't lie to figures of authority for no reason unless you have ulterior motive or hiding something. While in Shallan's case she was legit she still shouldn't have she literally had no reason to lie and even insult those questioning her.- 25 replies

There's a problem with this Multiple nahel bond and/or multiple honor blades apparently even work with a single person assuming that person actually fits to the criteria of the nahel bonds and/or has possession of the honor blades. I suspect Szeth learned this through vision sent by the almighty(hey maybe he fits) since i don't see him as somebody scholastic (like Jasnah and maybe Amaram to figure it out)

goody153 replied to NathanielHellman's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah Shallan is not exactly an exemplary model of nice people. She looks upto her personal interest more than interest (well she's human she's a bit selfish one) tbh and she feels entitled at times(now that i think about it Adolin is actually opposite he's only like that when he hates you aka Kaladin or in the battlefield as a commander) though that's prolly her upbringing as lighteyes. Kaladin on the other hand is actually kind i mean it's pretty obvious he's genuinely kind though he's not exactly the type of person who's really polite, you know that he's been noticed alot of times by both his superiors, adolin, even fellow bridgman that he's somehow rude at times or alot of times. But that screaming showmatch is totally on Shallan, i mean Kaladin was literally doing his job and his arguments were good about her possibly being an scammer/impostor since she also lied on clearly what Kaladin was actually acting as a patrol, after the interrogation i doubt Kaladin would hold her over since she can prove she's actually the missing Fiance of Adolin with the spanreed messages. It's just shallan acting spoiled as storm and desperate obviously Kaladin is not exactly the type who would shut up if you do insult him personally.- 25 replies

This theory might also work but there are problems with it There's a WoB that did say Marsh had the last atium bag in the world. And i really don't buy this issue with Kelsier destroying the pits back in the Final Empire to have carried over. I really doubt Harmony couldn't do something about it considering he is both double shard of opposite sides with nobody interfering with him in Scadrial in his ascension. I don't even think Kelsier's information about the atium geods stop being fully functional over 300 years is true. Ruin was not even worried about it. I think it's more like he moved the pits if the case was it fits with the spoilery title of book 4 "The Lost Metal" is that somebody found where he hid the new mines of Atium.

He's on Scadrial on Southern regions in WoB . Though he's doing much more important Harmony stuff, he's his strongest champion after all.

I've been intrigued by this WoB for a very long time. I had two theories but i kinda gets crushed with some thoughts as well. Theory #1 : Sazed didn't actually reclaim the rest of Ruin and left the Atium so that both Shards are balanced. Problem with this theory is that its clearly stated(WoB) that Marsh has the last set of Atium. And we would've heard about the Atium after his ascension but we didn't(or he just hid it really well). Theory #2 : Sazed using that extra chunk of Ruin's power outside of Scadrial. We know shards can poke around things and stuff (we know that Sazed has some knowledge over This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules is going on in Roshar(WoB) since it happened after his ascension ) and that a Shard could possibly influence outside his domain(Mr. Sanderson prolly just meant that through his agents not actually from his touch ) Theory #3: Could also count as theory 2 but to be more specific Sazed is using that part of Ruin's power to test out doing Hemalurgic testing on other cosmere planets. We know this is happening(WoB). I mean he's trying to learn about the Cosmere and he must be spiking people or trying to to infiltrate better and stuff. Theory #4 : It could also be that in a WoB it is mentioned that Sazed is not the seventeenth shard(the one where demoux and those dudes who are chasing) BUT whether he's a member of the organization is another question. Thoughts ? : )
