  1. I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. If you just need to get your hands on the equations, Google works fine but you will need to sort through it a bit. If you need to get the equations by proof, here's a site with an (albeit sloppily-written) proof using calculus and variable substitution that you can use as a guide. That site also has the equations themselves, but I can't verify their authenticity because I haven't gone much into capacitors beyond calculating capacitance.
  2. DHMO is so acidic, it's got a higher pH than any other acid! (I'll just show myself out.)
  3. *Hug* English classes can be a pain because some teachers are just a butt with grading. It's why I prefer math. Your grade does not necessarily reflect on the quality of your writing.
  4. Sorry, I had AP tests and friends who needed emotional support and... yeah. I'm back now. The door shattered under the combined weight of the two guards, and Elenion burst into the room with the rest of the squad. And quite a room it was: a stone chamber, arrayed like an amphitheater with the center of the room sinking down gradually. In the very center, the lowest part of the room, was a coffin. And swarming around the coffin were demons. Each was slightly taller than a man, and had the general shape of one, but the features were twisted into the features of animals. One was spindly, snakelike, with scaly skin. Another was covered in fur and had savage claws on the end of dextrous fingers. A third had wings, feathers, and a vulture-like beak. There were more, too, each hideous and deformed, circling the coffin at the center of the room. It was obvious where Rodel was. Behind Elenion, the crowd of guards stalled, caught on the edge of a wave of fear emanating from the center of the room. At step later, Elenion froze as well. And then, from the center of the room, came a shrill, inhuman scream. One of the demons staggered back away from the coffin, a wicked slash across its hand and arm. It stumbled, and as it did so it turned and saw Elenion and the guards standing next to the opened door. It screamed again, and the rest of the demons spun. And still, Elenion and the guards remained paralyzed by fear. The first demon to charge was reptilian in form, with a massive body the color of a stagnant pond and covered in scales and a massive sword of grim, grey iron. As it steamrolled forward, Elenion's muscles finally unlocked, and he sidestepped, as a hundred pounds of metal whooshed past his side. Elenion kicked the beast in the shoulder as he spun, reinforced boot making contact with a satisfying thud, but the demon appeared unfazed. It came at him again, but this time Elenion stood his ground as it brought its sword down in a two-handed arc. Elenion brought his sword down to his side so that it wouldn't block the oncoming blow, and then concentrated. The sword whooshed toward him, and Elenion smiled as it whistled right through his body, smashing into the ground below him and pulverizing rock. He brought his sword up as the blow hit the ground, and slammed it forward into the surprised demon's neck. The sword hesitated for a second when it hit the scaly skin, but then penetrated deep into the neck. The demon pitched forward, hitting Elenion with hundreds of pounds of dead weight that he was unprepared for. Apparently these things can still touch me when I'm insubstantial, even though their swords can't. Just great. Elenion heaved the corpse off of himself and surveyed the battlefield. Although the demons were fewer in number than the guards, they were larger, stronger, and faster. Already three of his guards had fallen. Elenion had killed one demon, and it looked like Rodel was about to finish off another, but he doubted whether he could kill another, and Rodel must be in a lot of pain from his wounds. This wasn't going well. Elenion sprinted across the room back towards the entrance, where the bulk of the combat was happening, while along the way focusing himself. He didn't have time to meditate here, but he needed what focus he could get. Reaching the knot of combatants, he seized the opportunity to slash a few of the demons in the back, not inflicting any major wounds but distracting them and sowing confusion. A panther-like demon detached itself from the melee and leaped at Elenion, hitting him in the chest and digging in its claws. As he fell backwards, however, Elenion used his stored focus to push the demon away, launching it into a wall. He didn't see if it got up, because Elenion hit the ground at the same moment. This wasn't working. Elenion ran to one of his guards, a young man with a slash down the length of his fighting arm. The guard looked petrified, and Elenion couldn't blame him; he was a veteran himself, and he still had nearly frozen up with fear. Elenion hauled the petrified guard to attention, looking him in the face and making eye contact. "Get to the Queen as quick as you can. Without her, we can't survive this fight. Anyone else you can find, too. Go!" The guard said nothing, but his eyes snapped into focus, and he sprinted out of the room, somehow getting through the wall of demons, guards, and weapons that stood between him and the exit. Elenion turned back to the combat. He didn't need to win. He only needed to last as long as he could.
  5. @Mestiv 16 for mere mortals... Do semi-divine entities like the admins get more?
  6. 666 rep: Torturer of Heralds! Edit: Aaaand... it's gone. That didn't last long.
  7. *awakes from AP-test-induced hibernation* It's probably about time I signed up for another game. My character will be Boris, a guard who's known for his general apathy and laziness. The only reason he hasn't been released from his post is--actually, I don't even know why he hasn't been fired yet. Huh.
  8. Just kidding, Len. Ah, the days back when I had that playstyle. To be fair, I've been backstabbed myself; Lopen in LG24 killed me despite me being in his faction and him being immune to all of my actions if I was evil.

  10. What misspelling?
  11. Kandra name: Lenvaan (just realized that the word balloon could be a kandra name )
  12. *groans* That was both the best and worst pun I've seen all day.
  13. Sorry about the wall-post, but it seems like everyone's waiting on me to do something. It was morning, and Dr. Khlennium was making his rounds once again. He strode past the door to Rodel's room--still ajar from the wounded man's disappearance the previous day--and continued down the hall to the Queen's room. Today, the Queen was sitting up, and she smiled as Dr. Khlennium entered the room. The doctor performed the usual replacement of the bandage, but today he stopped, inspecting the wound. "I believe the wound is closed enough for you to leave the bed, if you feel up to it." Queen Elsa slowly swung her feet off of the side of the bed, and gingerly eased her weight onto her feat. She grimaced slightly as a line of pain shot up her lower back, but her feet held her weight. She took one step, then another, then a third. @Queen Elsa Steelheart ******* "Sir, Rodel is gone!" The guard's voice cheated Elenion out of sleep for the second morning in a row, but the adrenaline rush that the words caused left Elenion feeling anything but drowsy. "What do you mean, gone? He couldn't have left his bed in the state he was in!" "I'm sorry, sir, but Rodel is gone. Dr. Khlennium discovered it yesterday evening on his rounds, but it was generally assumed Rodel had left under his own power. This morning we discovered that his personal effects have not been retrieved. "Do you know what this means, soldier?" "Someone took Rodel out of his room, sir?" "I'm afraid so. It would have had to be someone with knowledge of his location, and the ability to come and go from the infirmary corridors without detection. That means," Elenion paused, "we have a traitor in out midst." The guard gulped. "Who, sir?" "If I knew, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But our first priority is to find Rodel, if he is alive. Get down to the guard posts and muster as many free men as you can. Keep the standard guard up, but I want everyone you can spare. Sleeping, off-duty, whatever. Just get them." The guard scuttled off. Elenion knelt, placing the palm of his right hand on the cold floor and closing his eyes, allowing his spiritual eyes to perceive the room around him. He became cautious of every crack in the stonework, feeling the walls more than seeing them. He could feel the slight vibrations in the floor from the guard's receding footsteps in the hallway. He concentrated more, expanding his vision. As it grew, he became conscious of more rooms, hallways, staircases. The larger he extended his sense, the less defined it became throughout. As he expanded his sense to almost the entire castle, even the rooms began to blend together. Then, he felt it: Rodel's leg. Although Elenion had not as much as seen it since he had helped staunch the bleeding, the leg still carried a tiny fraction of Elenion's power holding the skin together, and to Elenion's spiritual sight it shone as though it was a candle in a forest of shadows. The arrival of a band of guards, about twenty in total, disrupted Elenion's sense with their vibrations, but Elenion had sensed enough. He was also pleased by how many men had gathered in just a short amount of time, but he didn't show it; the stress of the situation kept his expression grave and his tone neutral. "Rodel is still in this castle, but many floors below us. It is highly likely that he has been abducted, aided by at least one of our own people. Form on me, draw your weapons, and prepare for anything. Come on!" And with that, the entire column of guards, Elenion at the head, surged down the stairway. ******* The raucous clacking of metal against stone awakened Darkness from his sleep. He rolled over in his bed, listening to what sounded like a herd of large metal animals stampede past his doorway. What could that be? But in a few seconds, the herd had passed. Maybe it was just a dream...? @Darkness Ascendant Care to join us? ******* As the small battalion descended into the very roots of the castle, Elenion began to be able to sense Rodel's leg without concentrating. It became a compass of sorts: at every stairwell or intersection, the men looked to him for guidance. More often than not, the choice was not a certain one, but little by little they inched closer to the source. After a certain point they slowed to a walk to minimize the noise they made, each man holding his weapon of choice in his hands to ensure its readiness and to prevent it from clacking against ground or armor. Finally, after what felt like hours of walking but was probably more like a few minutes, they came to the deepest floor of the castle. Of course, it had to be the deepest floor. It also just had to be locked. "This is it. I can feel Rodel inside, along with about ten other moving things. Men or beasts I cannot tell." "Does it matter?" The guard who had told Elenion about Rodel's disappearance said, "Rodel was our guest, and it wouldn't be in good hospitality to lose him to a few demons." Some of the men chuckled, but others stayed silent. Elenion was one of the latter. A change had come over him: his voice was not that of a jovial ex-soldier but that of a hardened veteran, "If that's decided, then hit it!" Two guards from the front of the group threw themselves at the door. The combined weight of men, weapons, and armor was enough to rip the door open with a splintering sound. From the inside of the room came a scream. @Captains Domon
  14. I'm not a tattoo person myself, but if I did get one I think Bridge 4 would be the way to go. Maybe on the shoulder?
  15. FotS: First of the Midmorning Vorin: Lenel (my username abbreviation but in a palindrome) Unkalaki: Hanalukavanavana'varahasanor (sounds Unkalaki enough, right?) Shin: Peter-son-son-Peter (although that's my grandpa's middle name) Korathi: Aanor (Aon Aan means logic, plus the nod to Minas Anor from LoTR) Returned: Wordwielder (for my sharp wit and propensity to use large words) Threnodite: Thaddeus Reverence (Reverence because I'm religious, Thaddeus because it just sounds old and cool)
  16. That was my speculation as to how Brandon might be trolling us with vague hints. Afaik there's no solid evidence to that effect.
  17. Hey, I was right for once! XD
  18. Sanderson Ruined a lot more words than that for me: awesomeness, anything having to do with sticks, the Waxing and Waning of the moon...
  19. I'm a Regular, and really just an extra body at this point. I've got little info, no contacts to speak of, and my time is limited.
  20. Dr. Khlennium was not a young man, but the constant walks back and forth across the infirmary had given him a powerful gait, the kind that made most people want to stand out of your way instead of the other way around. Currently, his constant walks focused on two rooms in particular: that of the Queen and that of the new man, Rodel. His first destination of the day was the Queen's room, and his powerful stride ate the distance to it in no time at all. He entered, dislodging an icicle from the doorframe but barely noticing. The Queen was awake, but bleary-eyed. She had obviously not slept through the night. Dr. Khlennium made his usual inspection of the wound, changing the bandages at the same time. The old bandage had a foul smell to it, but the amount of blood on it was actually less than would be expected. Queen Elsa was improving. Within the next couple of days he expected her to be out of bed. "My Queen, I hope that you are well," he said, ending the statement like a question. There was no response; during the bandage changing the Queen had apparently fallen asleep. Dr. Khlennium suppressed a chuckle, and exited. In the hallway the doctor passed by Elenion, who had fallen asleep on nothing but the cold floor. The two of them had talked many times in the last few days, on subjects ranging from the health of the Queen and Rodel to the possible causes of Elenion's insubstantiality. On the latter topic, they had come to a general consensus that there was no reason why Elenion's spirit should have lingered after his body perished, and how he even retained some control over the physical world. Elenion just was, and that was it. Down the hallway from Elenion's slumbering form was Rodel's room. It was smaller than the Queen's, but still spacious enough for an empty bed... hold it. Where was Rodel? "Rodel?" No answer. "Rodel?" Where had that man gone? He had healed quickly, but Dr. Khlennium doubted that anyone could have lifted themselves out of bed under their own power, so soon after sustaining such a wound as Rodel had. Concerned, the doctor turned, and his powerful stride carried him out of the room.
  21. Here's a song parody I've been working on. I would have posted it sooner, but it would have outed me.
  22. Isaac "The Hammer" Jones crouched on the hilltop, watching the Chalklings prowl around its base. Then, he heard it: The time of action has come. Our enemies brace for an assault, not knowing from which direction it will come. Let us bring it to them. He nodded his head and tensed. All around him, eyes searched faces, looking for any signs that the mind behind the physiognomy was tense. Jones forced himself to relax, watching, waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Time. He launched himself into motion... Aman Jondesu
  23. No, does confirming my action C3 really help us any? Actually, I guess it rules out me performing the elim kill then, so I'll do that now. I'll PM Orlok and ask him to confirm in-thread that I actually did scan him C3, but Orlok's off right now so it won't be immediate.
  24. I'm here! I didn't have time to post this morning before school. A lot has happened this cycle, most of it bad. First things first, looks like Seonid revealed my role. Yes, I did scan Lopen. Here's my scan history: C1 I scanned Lopen, but I wasn't completely sure that he was a Non-Rithmatist until Brightness Radiant told me in our PM, because a rule clarification from Sart told me that blocked scans show up as having detected no specialization or actions, which was what I saw with Lopen. C3 I scanned Orlok, but I don't want to reveal his role or action schedule without his permission. Suffice it to say that he didn't do anything that would make me think he's evil. The elephant in the thread, of course, is Jondesu vs Aman. @Amanuensis Jon and I aren't elims together. For one, I'm not an elim. Two, we're both Artists. I can't speak for Jon not scanning me instead of you, but I'm glad he did what he did. We know the elims used Vigor last night because Seonid's verified Line of Forbiddance was blocked. If Jon were lying, I'd assume he would have lied and said he detected no action and therefore the elim kill. But Jon claimed that Aman drew Vigor, and now after the fact we know that there was at least one Vigor used by the elims last night. That correlation seems too strong to ignore. Aman
  25. Like on D1, I haven't said much this cycle because I don't have much more to say. I haven't had the time to make another multi-hour analysis, although I've been on enough to answer some PMs, and most living players are the same in my reads as they've been for a while. Lopen seems village, although he unfortunately doesn't reciprocate that. Brightness and Frozen Mint seen helpful, too. HH has done the usual bandwagoning, Ornstein has been quiet as always, and Joe hasn't let up on the taunting. Aman is always inscrutible. I've already explained why I find Seonid suspicious. Jondesu and Rand seem more quiet than they have been in previous games. Nobody's made analysis that's very convincing, so I've just kept my vote on Seonid and watched.
