  1. Shade nodded and walked over to the forms, quickly filling it out, simply filling in 'Shade' for her name. It wasn't as if she really remembered her old name anyway, nobody had used it since she was four or something. She had mostly dropped her concealment and the fact that others were seeing her made her back itch, but it wasn't as if she could simply hide herself again when her new boss announced her presence to everybody in the room. Silently she handed the form back in, and walked back to the place she had stood before.
  2. Shade stood in the corner, hidden, wondering what type of person would get involved with something like this while so confused they forgot they had sent their dog to a kennel. Still, that was why she was hired, she guessed. Silently she started playing with her knife, making sure to continue hiding her presence.
  3. Mari stood closer to the bar, drinking something light while watching the conversation. She hadn't met the Dustbringer herself, but based on Althea's conversation she was quite sure that was the person they were looking for. He also seemed completely unhinged. Silently she started moving through the room, trying to look like a normal customer. If trouble broke out she figured she'd want to be somewhere behind him, to shoot him in the back. He was a Radiant anyway, he'd heal.
  4. Says you. On that note, who wants to work together on the mathematics regarding conservation of momentum when using iron while moving through the air?
  5. KanMien blinked in surprise as she saw them appear, and she looked into the elevator, trying to figure out what was going on. "How exactly did you..." She muttered in slight amazement. She shook her head, and looked at Kumiko, hoping she had a better idea of what just happened. Kumiko just looked at them, wondering what she had done to deserve being stuck in this mess. "How busted is that elevator that just having the brakes stop working is enough to cause serious trouble?" She noted. "And no, we haven't found anything else yet. To be fair, we were mostly standing around waiting for the elevator to return." She looked around, wondering what had happened with the elevator. If that thing had actually fallen down at full speed they would have either had to have climbed out really quickly, or spend a lot of time climbing, and she wasn't certain if that much time had passed. "How much did you actually climb upwards to get back here?" She asked. "I'm curious if this thing is just acting up or if there's some kind of spatial anomaly."
  6. You might be able to clandestinely sell the spikes to the GBs, or other illegal organizations. Being able to buy powers would probably get at least some buyers
  7. The best is probably to edit you old post, but that might not notify people. Otherwise, just do what you did here and ask for someone else to post. If that doesn't work you can probably double post? Edit: Added a post for you
  8. Aura followed behind him, a bit more cautious than Brin, but not wanting to let him go in alone either. She looked behind her, hoping that the rest was coming too, since she had no interest in going in alone herself either.
  9. Mari nodded. "Sure," she said. "Should be interesting. I have never heard of any creatures that leave skin like that behind." She wondered if there was some clandestine way she could get it send to one of the labs. Sending in something like that might get her a decent pay-rise, or get some people to owe her a decent favour. Especially the second would be nice, favours accomplished much more than mere money could.
  10. Mari walked up to the hole, and simply ignored the rope, instead just jumping up and then lowering her weight. She shot up out of the hole, weight and speed returning to normal just as she passed through it, and she lightly landed next to Brin, and waited for the rest to come up.
  11. Probably best not to risk it. Is this thread actually still being linked, given that the last post before this was over a year ago? Bans on cookie selling (and maybe guild advertising?) in the intro threads, since it was basically devolving into cookie wars, instead of actually welcoming the new member.
  12. As soon as Mari saw him pull the gun she jumped away, storing nearly all of her weight, the jump leaving her roughly 10 meters away when Gethen fired, her ears ringing from the sound of the shot as it echoed through the sewers. She really hoped that had actually worked, though she couldn't see how a gun that weak could dislodge a large metal disk, because if it didn't work she'd punch him for the utter stupidity of firing a weapon at something that could cause it to ricochet while inside of an underground tunnel, both deafening everyone as well as risking hitting someone by accident. Rust, even if it did work he would need a proper scolding for pulling a stunt like that without even warning people!
  13. "Alright, that's good," Mari said, relieved to finally leave this place. "Now, do we have any way to actually get out through it?" She figured she could probably just jump up and phase through, but that was kind of a last resort option, both because her superiors would get mad at her for revealing that as well as the fact that she had no clue what was above it, and she didn't fancy materializing straight into a car or a person.
  14. "The tracks disappeared here," Mari noted to Gethen. "Which means something must have happened here." She started looking around as well, decided to look at the ceiling if there was a manhole or something. "I hope it means he got out," she muttered. "Gangs aren't the only things in these tunnels." She remembered some of the reports she had read a while ago, about an expedition to catch some of the monsters that were supposed to dwell here, for research. As far as they managed to figure out from the remains and some recorded footage they had found them alright, and the release of the information on what happened afterwards caused a surprising lack of volunteers for a follow-up expedition.
  15. Mari followed him, simply ignoring the guard as he tried to stop her, stepping up to the edge of the hole. "Guess we know how he got away," she remarked. She wondered what the best option now was for her. On one hand, her superiors probably wouldn't want her to draw attention to herself by helping chase down a criminal. On the other hand, she didn't particularly care about them, and she wasn't interested in letting someone willing to burn down houses with people inside of them just get away. Of course, it would involve jumping into a underground tunnel, which wasn't the best place for her powers. She sighed. "Oh, I hate tunnels," she said to nobody in particular before lightening herself and jumping down, restoring to normal weight just before hitting the ground, the sudden increase in weight slowing her fall down even further, and she softly landed at the bottom of the tunnel, waiting for anyone else to follow her.
  16. Meanwhile, Kumiko and KanMien were both looking at the closed lift doors. "How much longer do you think it'll take?" Kumiko asked in a slightly annoyed tone, somewhat tired of waiting for the elevator to come back. KanMien shrugged, and started walking further along the wall. "Let's look around," she said. "Maybe there's another elevator around here somewhere." She sighed. "We really should have gotten aboard that thing while we had the chance. Waiting on elevators is annoying."
  17. Even with the no killing they can easily tie multiple opponents up in air and immobilize them, which ends a fight just as quickly as killing them does. Depending on how channeler-cosmere interactions are judged to work the only counter I can see is cutting or disrupting weaves with aluminium, but on the flipside, that should also imply shielding an investure user would block them from using their powers, and might even allow severing to remove a person's access to their powers permanently (could investure-based healing heal severing or burning out?).
  18. True, but I haven't actually used them together in a combat situation, aside from a single scene during the Acute plot last Era, which was done after discussing it with the other person, and only against npcs. They are together now in this Era, but the plot they're currently in is a pve exploration plot, not a pvp combat plot. On that note though, I'd say it probably won't be too much of an issue in a fight if they don't gang up on the same character, but each fight different ones. Other than that, I'd say them working together on non-combat things wouldn't be an issue, as long as you're not doing anything that somehow abuses the fact that you have multiple characters present. Of course, you could always ask around if anyone else is interested in rping the Warden and solve things that way. Of course, keep in mind that that's just my opinion, and that I'm not a mod. Edit: Ah, nevermind, misunderstood what you tried to illustrate. Yeah, having two characters hang out together doesn't give them a combined points limit. The only reason I can think of where this applies is if the characters are basically one person, which I don't think a Warden and Aes Sedai are, unless they are never apart and always work together, with the warden always doing what the aes sedai says without any sort of input, in which case they become more like a tool than a character.
  19. Mari shrugged. "As long as they've light or non-alcoholic stuff," she said. "I don't really like the idea of stuff that makes it harder to think." She doubted she had ever drunken enough to even get tipsy. Of course, there were other reasons for that. For one thing, an ability as finicky and likely to kill you when misused as hers made doing things that affected your mind rather problematic, as did the possibility of saying things that shouldn't be said, like her being part of the DA. She looked at the building, and saw a shape in the fire, the flames billowing around it for a second, then snapping back to normal, but the outline was still visible, looking around. "On the other hand," she said, trying not to let what she just saw affect her expression, "It is a party, and a little bit wouldn't be that bad. I don't mind going."
