Could work, but more as additional storage so you don't need to rely on the body's fat reserves. For the speed alterations while using Abrasion, F-Iron might be more along the lines of what you want, since shifting weight while airborne alters your speed, with lowering weight speeding you up and increasing it slowing you down. This should carry over to Abrasion sliding as well. It won't allow for permanent speed changes, but it could allow for temporary changes.

You probably want Nightblood on your side. However, I suspect no Shard would actually want Nightblood on their planet. Having the one weapon that makes a mortal capable of killing a vessel if they manage to meet them on the same planet as the primary world you Invested sounds like a very bad idea. Right now Nightblood is roaming out and about, doing damage to Shards other than Endowment, and there are two powerful Nalthians nearby who have a strong connection to it and would likely keep an eye on it and prevent it from causing too big a mess. Essentially, right now Nightblood is on Endowment's side, and, more importantly, on a world where it doesn't function as a sword of Damocles hanging over her head. Besides, Endowment is the only shard in her system, who else would it be any use against right now if it was on Nalthis?

Mari wanted to nod to Victoria, when Vivica started talking. She only paid a bit of attention at the start, but quickly paid more and more attention as she rambled on and on. Her face was pale by the end of it, with more questions than answers. How the rust had someone with an encounter with the Alley ended up in a mental hospital? Had they escaped? Or had someone released them, figuring they'd be insane enough people would ignore them? She shook her head, turning back to Victoria. "Alright," she said. "I'll see who I can find." And, she added in her head, I'll look into whoever released a test subject into a mental hospital, and the odd sensations that other person is giving me.

"Mari," she said, introducing herself to the doctor as she got up as well, helping her clean up the room. "I haven't really seen any emergency personnel, but there were quite a few people around the entrance, so they'll probably be on their way. The entrance has collapsed though, so it might take them a bit to get through. I ended up using a smaller emergency exit to get in." She was putting away some of the paper on the floor when she noticed Sanax, getting a strange feeling from him. It reminded her of the feeling of people traveling, or those with greater mastery, but strange somehow, weak, twisted, overshadowed, and she wondered why she hadn't noticed before. Had it been that weak? She walked over, looking at his drawing, and again it seemed almost familiar, but strange at the same time. It felt... worrying. Not only that, but she thought she could see something moving in the corner of her eyes, as if something was drawing attention, attention that would become focused on her, given the lack of enlightened people here. @Fatebreaker@18th Shard

Mari tilted her head slightly as she looked at the doctor. "A visitor, I guess?" She said. "I noticed the explosion, so I went inside to see what was happening. Then I came across here, and it looked interesting, so I decided to stay." She looked back at Reshilore trying to guess the image, wondering what it could be herself. It looked interesting, almost like some kind of strange symbol. Then again, that was probably because of too much time spent in Alley 0x8BCA451. She still wasn't entirely certain why anyone figured random symbols with zero investure would be able to warp reality, but given the sanity of most of those involved in the project she was personally glad they hadn't succeeded. ... Then again, she had heard most of the personnel involved were remarkably sane back when they started the project, at least compared to the average Denizen.

And, to be honest, this rp doesn't work well for super-powerful chars, as we noted in era 2, because there are also people with weaker chars around. A full-on power fantasy god rp could work, but it'd need to be a completely separate from the Alleyverse, so it doesn't mess stuff up for everyone who actually enjoys rping weaker/Cosmere-standard chars.

Mari walked through the hallways, occasionally catching glimpses from her old friends in the corner of her eyes, and she wondered if there was something special about this place, that they were capable of watching here that well. Perhaps a realmatic resonance with the signature of some alley? The explosion could have caused some form of shift. It reminded her of some old rumor she once heard, of an abandoned building that at random intervals linked to certain alleys, with them saying it used to belong to some old scientist who performed realmatic experiments. That was when she heard people talking, the word 'Word Spike' catching her attention. Curious she wandered over, looking at the drawings, before sitting down on a random bit of floor, looking into the distance. She thought she could hear some screaming, but this apparent drawing contest looked interesting too. @Fatebreaker@ZincAboutIt@18th Shard@Ashbringer

If Cam went after Aylitha he'll make Aylitha wish Cam was capable of killing her. Could be interesting, though I think we're kind of brainstorming about an Alleyverse specific magic system not limited to the DA. Fleshing out Alleymatics more could be useful though, right now making chars that use it is difficult, because of a lack of limits. I think that right now Mari is the only one using a subset of Alleymatics as specific, defined power.
-
Cam makes her wish he could kill her.
-
For Voidus, that's basically what Sudiov is. For Aylitha, they'd probably either merge, or give up because the both kind of lack raw offensive power. Aylitha's main focus, and her own origin, is a pursuit of immortality. She's overspecialized in defense, but in return her offensive abilities are low. (Relatively, at least. She can still kill most folks, but she mostly just either eats folks or uses sheer wave assault, she doesn't have the single-target destructive potential the others have)
-
If Aylitha is creating them, you probably need her permission to bond them. If you even can, they're probably some weird hybrid between a mind Epic's power and her own alien biology. As for killing Aylitha... You probably have an easier time killing Voidus. She's a hivemind with infinite regeneration spread over multiple dimensions and a ton of fallbacks to deal with unexpected magics that target the mind or soul.
-
For a good starting point, the final thread from the era 3 finale involved the department heads cutting lose slightly, among other things having the Stranger create a massive lake-sized crater with two soulcastings. There's also a thread of a sparring match between Voidus and the Stranger somewhere. Bottom line though, most department heads can eradicate the entire city while holding back. Voidus can simply unmake everything, the Stranger possesses every single magic in existence, at power levels that make the Lord Ruler look like a toddler. Mac can just shift a bunch of astroids to hit the city, and Aylitha is an eldritch abomination hivemind with infinite biomass who can just eat the entire place.
-
Um, lets just say investure suppressors won't do all that much against the higher-level department heads, because they're either using way more power that can be suppressed, or have access to stuff that doesn't involve investure, like massive hords of city-destroying monsters
-
DA civil war sounds interesting, but I do wonder what'd happen once the department heads get involved, at least what'd happen to the regular chars. Having a major guild/civil war isn't as much fun when the demigods are just battling it out amongst themselves and the others can't really intervene because of power differences
-
Healing and reversing Savantism feels to me like it'd need magic related to adjusting and healing the spirit, this feels more like magic focused on interacting with existing kinetic investure?
-
Some sub-aspects could be absorbing investure to use it for something, or hijacking ambient investure to bend or adjust magic usage. I assume not everyone born in the Alleyverse would have access to this magic, only some of them would actually be able to acquire it?
-
With meta-investure, one important thing to keep in mind is making sure that it doesn't become unfun to rp with. Someone who can just 'nope' everything you do will probably get frustrating, even if they have no offensive abilities.
-
What type of shipping? (Both?)
-
I think that right now we have the Stranger as the head of the department of abominations, Mac was counter-intelligence, though IIRC Lita is now? I remember there was an inquisitor that was head of acquisitions, though I can't remember his name. Aylitha is head of biological research, and Cam head of HR. Not sure how many of those department heads are still part of the current DA though, after the Forgery.
-
Why the heck would that ever be unnecessary?
-
To be fair, that's because most of the time the irp Voidus kept everyone in line. The Stranger has a similar level of power, but he didn't do anything against Voidus until the forgery, and other than that nobody in the DA who can do it really exists.
-
Making magic systems is always fun. As for Aylitha's actions, she'd go for whatever option allows her to do the most interesting research.
-
True. These are the memories Aylitha is actually erasing, the knowledge of the existence of that fruit.
-
Now I kind of want to make a guild that promotes the sale of pineapple pizza just to see how quickly and how horribly they get destroyed. It might even break the forgery with the sheer energy and violence involved.
