Innate biological ability, meant less to find active use of kinetic investure around them, and more to map out innate investure someone has

Would having basic investure sense be a minor or normal merit?

~The Fox; The cognitive realm~ The fox stayed a step behind the others, not interested in placing herself in the firing line, but from her hands she started shedding cells. Invisible except to those who could perceive even the microscopic they floated through the area, preparing it for if she herself needed to fight. "You aren't the only one he needed to acquire information on," she muttered softly, a warning, perhaps unnecessary, for Voidus and the others. "And he rewrote the laws of this world. I'm sure you know what that means." As she spoke she studied the Stranger. He looked the same as he always had, she thought, though, unlike the others, she couldn't perceive the energies that'd allow her to truly tell. Something she'd need to correct in the future, at some point. If they'd get a future at all, that was. Perhaps something from Roshar could function as a basis, one of the Investure eaters. ~Aylitha; Beneath the city~ Beneath the city Aylitha stirred, the last of her own preparations complete. Dimensional spaces isolated, spiritual paths redrawn, mental connects severed and reconnected. She paused slightly as she studied the conflict, the girl with the three tails stirring something in the back of her mind, though other mental routines made her dismiss it, preprogrammed commands embedded deep into the core of her consciousness taking effect, as they had before, while the fox went about their work. A slight shudder ran through the Underground, and then she started forming a body of her own, seeking to accompany Voidus, all while rechecking her safeguards and fallbacks, not wanting to get erased from existence if Voidus realized her own complicity in this, and decided to take offense to it.

A teenage girl walked through the shadows, out of the alleys, heading towards the university as well. She had three fox tails, and a fox-like appearance. She studied the location, anticipation and dread mingling inside of her. Of what would happen next, to the Forgery, and, of her plans afterwards. Perhaps because of the nature of her creation, a need for secrecy, she had never been properly part of Aylitha, cut off and forgotten. And, she intended to keep it that way. She had no interest in dying because her parent didn't like another her walking around. Noticing Lita she gave a small smile and a nod, though she wasn't certain if the woman had spotted her. She probably had though, as would others likely have. Even in this city, her traits weren't exactly common. Not something that made her feel comfortable, being this visible.

AnLien (OP char submission): Upgraded Kandra to major merit, and Blessing to normal merit. AnLien (nerfed version, if OP char doesn't get through): Changed Kandra to major merit and blessing to normal, reduced arcanist ability to a lower level and put it in minor. Adjusted Alleymancy trick to being able to store or retrieve small items that can fit through the openings of her pockets or a small bag, and reduced it to a normal merit (not sure if this is appropriate or not).
-
Alright. What are the current rules regarding op char submissions nowadays actually?
-
How will this work with the rule of having a char only in a single rp? Will we now be allowed to be in multiple time-spots as long as we don't do things in older slots that could mess up causality (like doing a potentially deadly fight will simultaneously having a tea party a couple days later)

"Given the organization you have joined you should have at least an inkling of an idea of what a being with true power is capable of," the fox said to Laurelai. "Or perhaps you haven't figured it out yet. Or perhaps those who reside in the alleys are the ones who have lost understanding. So diminished, so much lost..." When Lita noticed the presence of Whisper the fox paused slightly in their step, before fading into the shadows. The three of them could handle this from here, at least until they were finished with the water. @Voidus

"I've kept a watch over this entire city," the fox said with a distinct smile in their voice. "Or at least the being I originated from did. Compared to that placing a letter in someone's room is a minor affair. Lita." After a moment of thought the fox decided not to discuss their little alleycant talk. Much more useful if people didn't know you could listen in on them, after all. As they walked the alleys slowly shifting around them, until the finally entered an alley of natural stone. The area around them was dark, with blue light seemingly coming from the distance, the playing light showing that they were in a cavern of sooth, rounded stone which danced through the whole area. In the distance, the soft sound of falling water could be heard. @Voidus@ZincAboutIt

So, who is going to be the one to submit the DA?
-
Hmm, alright. For the Alleymatics, I was mostly shooting for someone inexperienced. So someone who has started reaching beyond the basic alleytravel all DA use, but not to the point of what a master like Mac can do. I guess actually defining what that level is would be difficult though. Edit: I guess it might help to define a specific field of alleytravel they specialize in, to narrow things down?
-
With the current merit system, could anyone give me a rough idea for the merit costs of Copper Feruchemy, copper compounding, Kandra, and Alleytravel/basic Alleymatics?

The fox paused slightly. "I told you, didn't I?" It said in a feminine voice. "A place where you can acquire knowledge, and the answers to your questions." She paused again. "I'd prefer not to tell you for now. As you might have already experienced, there are things watching, and the wrong words can draw the wrong kind of attention. You'll find out the truth soon anyway, so there's no real need for me to tell you." Another pause. "That said, if you want for more information, in order to trust me... Well, first of all, you probably shouldn't. Your companion should know how that works, given her job. A little trust goes a long way, and the less you have, the further you'll travel. Aside from that, perhaps the fact that I'm aware of your headaches, and the reason behind them, should be interesting enough for you?" @Voidus@ZincAboutIt

The fox waited at the location in the map, feelers spread through the alleys to check up on their approach. Three tails were visible this time, mimicking the seal on the letters. Mentally they sighed, hoping this would work. The original had given them a plan, a great plan, but they couldn't predict the future, and returning memories could easily throw off predictions. And, of course, they hadn't seen fit to allocate any reasonable degree of mental ability to them either, so they just had to hope this would work out, since they doubted they could improvise if things went off the rails. They sighed again, physically this time, and waited for Lita and Laurelai to arrive. Once they did the fox would give a small, polite bow, before continuing to move, letting the other two follow them, shifting alleys around them. @Voidus

As Lita and Laurelai waited for their drinks a woman observed them from a different table. She looked average, with the only exception being a rather pale skin. After a minute she got up, walking to the exit past their table. As she did a sealed envelope slipped out of her sleeve, drifting onto the table. She herself continued walking, seemingly oblivious to the world around her, before exiting the tavern, vanishing into a nearby alley. The envelope itself bore the seal of the three-tailed fox, and in it was a map, sketching out a route through nearby alleys, one that only someone trained in Alleytravel would be able to recognize and follow. The path itself ended somewhere inside the alleys, in a part not under the direct control of the DA. Outside, hidden under a cart, a small fox watched the tavern. @Voidus@ZincAboutIt

For powers, are all powers supposed to be a major merit? If so, does that mean everyone goes more towards just having a single ability, and no combinations? And how does that work with more powerful abilities? Also, I guess that means that if you have a power, you shouldn't have a field you're, like, extremely skilled in?

At night, while the two of them slept, a small fox crept through the night. When it arrived at Lita's place it fell apart into thin vines which crept under the door, until finally materializing back into a fox in her room. Similar vines appeared, weaving themselves into a sealed letter. Nodding to itself, it then departed again the same way. An hour later the same fox appeared outside Laurelai's place, entering the same way, again leaving a sealed letter. Both letters bore a white seal, with an impression of a small, three-tailed fox. When the letters would be opened they'd both show the same message: If thou seeks enlightenment, follow the three-tailed fox. @ZincAboutIt@Voidus

Also, as another note, Aylitha just realized the Stranger's plans, and has stopped the Shadows from erasing memories, and is instead subtly encouraging people to investigate these memories, and remember more.

Deep beneath the city shadows slowly started stirring, as something ancient took notice of a strange anomaly. For a time that might be seconds or perhaps days she meditated on the strange things she felt, tracing connections of investure, mapping pathways through dimensions, reality and non-reality, until finally a strange feeling of unrest seemed to pass through the world, touching and infecting the minds of those in it with gossamer threads. At the same time the shadows seemed to retreat from the minds of those who had been experiencing visions of another life, finally granting them rest, before the faint feeling of unrest started pushing at them, unnoticeable, to investigate these visions, encouraging strange nightmares and dreams of a world of gods and guilds. At the same time shadows coalesced in a different, hidden part of the world, eventually retreating to reveal a small fox, while the main mind of the shadows sealed away their own memories of the hidden creature, trusting that what they had set in motion would continue. And finally, in a different place, one unbound by dimensions, on a plane of investure, power and intellect, hidden from even the view of all-seeing gods, Aylitha started to work on her own part in this, to sever herself from the world and reclaim her power from the friend she had trusted, and was looking to usurp her.

What is the current state of stuff right now, by the way?

In a similar vein, and from the same convo, here's a parody on "Do you Hear the People Sing" from Les Miserables too: Do you Hear the People Scream
