Mate? Mari wondered, then shrugged it off. "Mari," she said after a slight hesitation, "Mari Enriel." She wondered if anyone would still recognize the name, probably not, given how long ago all that was. She could barely remember it herself anymore, something she wasn't sure if she should be happy or sad about. "So someone went on a rampage and something might have happened with a prison van," she nodded in confirmation, moving on with the conversation. "The fire though..." She looked at the other two people. Neither of the two looked liked like the types to just start a fire like that, but you'd never know. Still, more likely that it was whoever got away. "Given that he was on a rampage, maybe a fire Epic?" She wondered aloud. "I guess a Division fabrial might work too, or a fire Aon. No, not an Aon, activating one takes a Elantrian, that would probably be recognizable, unless illusions were involved, of course. Fire Epic would make the most sense, though maybe a Dustbringer would work too? They'll need to check the warranty on their spren though in that case. Maybe a really deranged Skybreaker? I really want to know what kind of law would justify burning down buildings though. Law of the jungle?"

Mari gave a slight smile. "I should be able to take care of that," she said as she gave him a bottle she had bought earlier. It was a particular drink she had found a while ago that came from some Earth world, a carbonated drink that tasted somewhat of lemon. She looked as the fire brigade got underway putting out the flames. "So," she said in a more serious tone, "Now that the traditional yearly arson case is being taken care off, can someone fill me in on what happened? I just heard some commotion and came this way, seems I only ended up catching the end of it."

Mari looked over the the man who flew up into the air, as well as the two people who seemed to know what was going on and walked over as well. "What happened here?" She asked. "Also," she continued, "is there a way I can help? I can manipulate my own mass, if that helps." Her bracelets were still visible, so they'd probably think she was a Skimmer, or possibly an Epic, if she did something weirder. She looked at the burning building, wondering how she could even help. She wasn't immune to fire, after all. The most she could do was move a bit quicker, or have some additional mass to throw around, or with a lot of effort possibly carrying people by making them a bit lighter.

To be fair, the existence of the cognitive and spiritual realm might cause DID or something similar to work slightly differently in the Cosmere (like with Shallan, possibly. Did she actually start developing alternate personalities as a kid or just do some really unhealthy repression? Can't really remember).

Given that there's a hidden organization making Hemalurgic abominations living in an eldritch location as well as as an eldritch god(des) living far under the city I think he has his work cut out for him!

"A bad case of arson?" Mari asked as she walked up behind him. She had heard the commotion, and decided to come this away as well after failing to find the DA members who she had sensed alleytravelling a while ago. She was wearing a simple Spymaster constume, a suit, bowler and monocle, with an iron bracelet on each of her wrists to give the illusion of an iron feruchemist. She looked quite calm, though every so often she glanced into a nearby alleyway, trying to spot the thing she had seen moving in there earlier. Not the best place to be using her abilities, if it was still around. "It has taken a while though," she joked. "I had expected the arson to take place earlier, judging by previous festivals. Still, better late than never, I suppose." She studied the building, trying to figure out what was going on. It didn't seem as if there were any residents, though at least one person was going to get an unpleasant surprise when they returned from the festival. Someone was screaming, though it didn't sound as if they were actually scared, which, given their situation, showed they were either very powerful, or very delusional. Knowing this place, it could very well be both.

Hmm, it might be good to add a more detailed description of his Oaths? They count as weaknesses, so it would be good to have them in a specific place, especially since pirate code doesn't explain that much. Also, it would be useful to give a reference as to how much his spike boosts his abilities.

Kumiko and KanMien went into the room last, both of them looking around the massive piles of letters. Both of them were tense, looking around for any possible threats. "Invested?" KanMien asked Kumiko. She paused, and picked up a letter. It was old, the answer to a request to sent aid to the part of the city destroyed by the conflict that happened two decades ago. It painted a bleak picture, the guild doing all it could, simply lacking resources to do more. Unconsciously she crushed it, and then a weak purple-blue flame started burning around it, quietly flickering, only fading once the paper had crumbled away. "I don't know," she answered. "If there's any, it's weak, might just be ambient investure of this place getting caught up." KanMien nodded, and they started walking again, quickening their pace to catch up with the others. "I wonder if these are copies or originals," Kumiko quietly remarked. "I really hope they're copies. I know we have a bit of a bureaucracy issue, but for this many originals to be stored like this would just be sad, in more ways than one." A letter floated through the air in front of her, and she grabbed it. After quickly reading it she passed it to KanMien, looking angry. "Maybe they're just copies," KanMien replied, "with copies placed here after being sent, or of letters that have been received and handled. You don't really need letters that often after handling them. Or maybe it's just investure, capturing all correspondence here, so they don't have to store and sort it." She took the letter Kumiko handed her. "How..." She muttered when she read it. It was an old letter from KoTiel, a request for information on how things were going with KanMien and Kumiko. She sighed, hoping that the letter had actually been responded to. "Maybe this place shows letters related to the people within them?" She speculated, voice slightly shaken. "That would explain why there's no visible sorting system." She shook her head. "Maybe we should just move on, get to the next room." The two of them quickened their pace, wanting to get out of the room quickly.

Hazel and Karin walked towards the entrance of the hospital. "So, remind me," Hazel asked, looking at Karin, "What's so special about this one?" "You know mum gave us a briefing on this before we left, right?" Karin replied with a sigh. Still, she expected it. Hazel never paid attention to the briefings if she knew she was joining her, since Karin not only had a much better memory, but a direct link in case she needed more information. "A nurse, Emily, was recovering memories. Mum sent something to deal with that. That was the reason we had to cut short our trip to the festival. Completely standard case, nothing special. Except for the fact that the minion was destroyed. And not only that, but in a way that left mum with no clue regarding how or even who did it." She spoke calmly, but deep down she had to suppress a shiver. Even if Aylitha didn't directly control the Faceless, she could still perceive everything it perceived, and destroying a Faceless' senses was almost impossible as long as it still existed, and killing a Faceless instantly was near impossible. "Ah," Hazel said, falling silent in thought, having picked up on the undertone in Karin's voice. "We have no clues or theories? And you two are sending me in as well?" Karin shrugged. "You're the best we have for finding out what happened. Besides, current theory is that whatever happen severed it's link to mum, not destroying it instantly. So first case, I can hold them off for long enough for you to get out. If it did get instantly destroyed, you'll be further back than me, and your powers would still work, so you can escape that way." Hazel nodded silently, and the two of them walked through the front door to the receptionist. "Can I help you?" He asked. Hazel looked at him, and pulled a memory from his head, a co-worker, and altered his vision to disguise herself. "Yeah," she said with a nod, altering her voice. "I heard something happened to Emily, do you know where she is?" He nodded. "Yeah, poor girl," he said. "Got found this morning with a concussion in the Cognitive ward. They decided to leave her there, let her recuperate. I think I've got the room somewhere?" He went through a small pile of files next to him, before pulling one out and showing it to her. "Here," he said. "Think you can find it?" Hazel smiled and nodded. "Yes, that should work," she said, and started to walk in that direction, while she erased his memory of her with a small wave of her hand. Karin followed her, and the two of them left behind a bemused receptionist who was wondering why he was holding a file on Emily. Finally the two arrived at Emily's room, and paused in front of it, both of them feeling nervous. "Got anything?" Karin asked. Hazel didn't reply, and instead closed her eyes, focussing on what she assumed was the room behind the door. She tried to drown out the mental noise around her, all the various mental patients around her. Instead, she closed in on the one presence that was sane, and looked through her recent memories, and frowned. "Found her," she said in a quiet tone. "Her memories are somewhat hazy, but it seems someone else was the culprit. Hit it with... something. Something dark. Simply melted it away, though not instantly. I don't think he's here right now though." She shuddered. "Do you know of anything that could do that?" Karin shook her head. "That sounds like someone cut off the investure flow as well. I knew of someone who could disappear things, but he couldn't just block things like that. Besides, that power... Well, it shouldn't exist in this world. And I've never heard of something similar in this world. Maybe mum knows." She shook her head. "Still, it could just be an Epic ability. Weirder ones exist after all." "Right," Hazel said. She shook herself, trying to focus, and walked into the room, and, noticing nobody else was there, closed the door behind her. A few minutes later she came out again, and nodded to Karin. "Let's go," she said. Karin simply nodded back, and the two of them quietly left the hospital, heading back into the alleys. *** Deep inside the alleys Aylitha replayed the memory Hazel had handed to her once she got back. "Something has happened," she muttered into the empty void of her mind. "Why now? The last with that ability vanished so long ago. Why show up again now?" Memories from long ago come back to her, people who were long gone. Times when she worked together with others, their only goal being the advancing of science, no matter its form. The only memories she believed she could be certain off that they were true. "It doesn't matter," she told herself. It wasn't her job to deal with these things. And there would be no need to tell her daughters about it either.

A lot of values are the same, from what I can see, but some did get changed, like the compounding scores. I think some of the skill scores might also have gotten changed.

Radiants get point deductions based on limitations caused by what broke them as well as limitations caused by their specific oaths, so that should generally make a 1st oath radiant still possible. Also, radiants don't need to know how to use weapons in order to be able to fight, since they have surges. Combat skills are just being able to fight with a specific (type of) weapon. But yeah, the fact that 20 of our points can now no longer be spend on combat skills might make some existing characters be no longer allowed. Existing characters will be fine as noted in the post, but it might cause trouble when moving the Era 5 characters into Era 6 in the future.

Hazel and Karin walked through the alleys, a black sun shining in the sky above them, and ancient plants covering the stones around them. Both of them wore their standard outfits, the clothing covering most of their bodies, hiding their abnormalities, while sunglasses hid their eyes. The whole setup looked kind of weird, especially during this time of the year, where the temperature would make these outfits more than a bit uncomfortable, for normal humans at least. "We're coming up to the exit," Karin noted to Hazel. "Do you have your costume ready?" Hazel smiled slightly, and snapped her fingers, not that she actually needed to, and her appearance changed. Her clothing now looked like a long, ragged robe, and her head like that of a black cat, though if you looked closely enough you'd find hints that it was a mask. "Need one too?" She asked Karin. "Nah," she answered, and her body warped, her head changing into that of a black-haired fox, while the top layer of her clothing shifted as well, forming into a robe of her own. "A cat?" She asked, her amusement audible in her voice. "You went for Mother as well?" "Cats are cute," Hazel said defensively. "Besides, we got to show our affiliation.". She gave Karin a quick look-over. "You know you look just like one of mum's Foxes, right? You should be careful some enterprising monster hunter doesn't come after you." Karin shrugged. "The Foxes don't come that high up in the tunnels normally, and I doubt anyone survives the encounters anyway. Nobody will know what a Fox looks like, and on this day you could probably send a Barghest through the streets and nobody will notice." She shook herself, trying to get rid of the gloom thinking about that kind of stuff brought her. "Besides," she said, forcing herself to be cheerful, "foxes are cute too." Just before Hazel could ask her if she meant a normal fox or one of Mother's creations they exited the alley, and the partying city appeared in front of them. They wandered through the city for a while, observing the festivities and enjoying the food. At one point they noticed two woman wearing some more unusual costumes. "Heh," Karin remarked. "Guess those two are from some Earth. I wonder if they're Epics?" "What makes you think that?" Hazel asked, amused, having already scanned their memories, and knowing quite well only one of them was from Earth. "Hmm, the clothing," Karin answered. "One of them wears a Japanese outfit, and the other looks like she's from the set of a Western movie. The outfits look pretty decent too, but they really don't combine." She looked at the ears and tail of one of the girls. "And a shapeshifter, I guess? You don't see that often." "Hmm, 5 points out of 10," Hazel said. "Only one of them is from Earth, the other is from Scandrial. Apparently that outfit is common in the Roughs." She smiled. "Also, they're both shapeshifters, the second one's a Kandra." Karin looked at her. "How did you..." She sighed when she realized it. "I guess lecturing you about things like personal privacy again won't work, right?" She sighed again. "Come on, let's get something to drink." As they were walking to the shop she suddenly tilted her head though, as if she was listening to something. "Oh, by the way," she said, sounding a bit annoyed, "I had a message from Mother. We need to be back at a reasonable time, apparently she still has some chores she needs you to do." It was now Hazel's turn to sigh. "Alright," she said. "Just tell her we'll come back after the fireworks have finished, that leave me with more than enough time."

Shade walked through the streets, the only one around who wasn't wearing a costume. She had thought about it, but the idea of wearing something that eye-catching just felt wrong to her. Of course, on a day like this wearing normal clothing would cause her to stand out a lot more than when wearing a costume, but it still felt wrong somehow. Besides, even with her attire nobody even looked at her. Which was how Shade preferred it. Silently she walked through the crowds, the amount of people making her feel slightly uncomfortable, but the knowledge that nobody was looking at her alleviated that, making her feel more at ease. She kept walking along, noticing a number of people around what looked like an armoured van, though she couldn't figure out what was going on. Still, it didn't concern her, so she kept moving, grabbing a cotton candy as she walked past the vendor, the man not even noticing he was missing one as she continued walking. Finally, after what had seemed about an hour, she finally found her target. He was hanging around at the edge of the crowd, selling firemoss to some random person in a scraggy Monster costume, probably because it was the cheapest he could get. She leaned against the wall, waiting for the buyer to finish his transaction. When he was finally finished two others came up though, and she sighed in annoyance. Finally she decided that she wasn't interested in wasting any more of her time waiting for his clients to be gone she walked forwards, still hiding herself. As she walked towards them she projected a Presence further down into the Alley, in the shadows, and immediately everyone turned around to look for it. As they did she quietly slid a knife out of her sleeve, and stabbed it in the man's throat, and his eyes widened for a moment as he recognized her, and then they widened even more as the pain hit him, and he started wheezing as he tried to breath. She took out the knife as she kept on walking, slipping past the buyers who now finally noticed their supply was dying, none of them capable of noticing her as they tried to figure out what to do, one of them running of in a panic while the other two decided to loot the not-quite-dead body to get their moss for free. Annoyed she flicked the knife clean, and decided to stick to the alleys on the way back. At least that way she didn't have to go through that crowd of maddeningly happy people again. At least the cut-throats and thieves in the alleys had enough awareness to notice someone being killed around them, unlike the partying people just outside the alley, even if they only noticed because it told them to either get out or loot the body.

"I suspect this document is either highly important, or we have a habit of storing every single bit of documentation in some ridiculously dangerous place," Kumiko said, a small amount of sarcasm creeping into her voice at that last bit. "That's what I think at least, given the number of people we have here. Other than that, I don't have a clue." Still, she had a suspicion that the second theory might be more correct, given what KanMien had said about the archives. She didn't really know anything herself, she wasn't that interested in small talk or rumours, but KanMien was, and if they were true, and the higher-ups had decided to send this many people, it did indicate there was at least something dangerous in the archives, or at least something problematic. Then she suddenly thought of something. "Hey," she said in a curious tone, "Does anyone actually know what this document looks like, or how we would know if we have found it?"

KanMien and Kumiko walked through the hallway, talking to each other. "Why did we have to help with this?" Kumiko complained, not quite understanding why both of them had to get called in just to find some missing report. "Does it matter?" KanMien asked her. "I'd say it's a nice bit of paid vacation, where we don't have people shooting guns or fireballs at us. Besides, the archive is supposed to be kind off weird, so it's probably not nearly as boring as you'd expect." She thought for a second. "Maybe that's the reason you got called in? You're fairly well suited for dealing with weird investure things, after all." "Um, maybe," Kumiko said, having calmed down a bit. "Besides, you're probably right about using this to relax a bit. No matter how weird that place is, it won't be any worse than a firefight with some criminal gang." Together they walked into the room that led to the archives, and found three more people there. For a second they stood there, looking. "Are you kidding me?" Kumiko said with a sigh, while KanMien just scratched her head with an embarrassed laugh.

There's the CDS thread, but that's more focused on a single character, not for interactions between multiple rpers. If it's in the city though you can use the Alleycity thread. I think we did also have a thread for scenes between a few characters in a house, which was meant to have a place to RP private moments between characters without interference, but I don't know where that one has gone to.

If they frequent the Alleyverse a lot I suspect the necessary Connection already exists, so they'd have been altered too, but yeah, if they somehow still remember the old world Aylitha will deal with them.
