Kumiko read the message KanMien had sent, asking her to infiltrate the building. They want us to infiltrate, she signed to Whisper, wondering how they should do that with the barrier in place. Sighing they send a message to KanMien. Barrier around the building, it read. Haven't found any openings yet. Just as she hit send a deafening barrage of sound erupted from the building, blowing her of her feet, and flashes of light burned through the mists, blinding her. Out of reflex she switched to Turtle, trying desperately to figure out what was happening. As the bombardment continued she slowly regained her bearings, and figured out what was happening. Someone's bombarding the building! She send to KanMien. Barriers are holding, damage doesn't seem to be spreading. She looked around, trying to figure out what was happening. Soldiers seem to be coming, something is coming out of the building, killing them. No clue what, just a flood of red. She quickly send a picture of what she could see, though the quality wasn't great. She looked around, trying to find Whisper. You alright? She signed. *** KanMien looked at their phone. "Rust and Ruin," they cursed. She tossed the phone at Laurelai. "They're in trouble," they said. "Are we going to get them out? Or at least have them get some distance?" They felt angry. They wanted to help Kumiko and Whisper, but couldn't find anything they could do. *** Fragarach heard someone screaming behind her, and moving on pure instinct she conjured a blast of wind at her back, launching her forwards, feeling a blade slice through her clothing as she went. She hit the ground, rolling along it, blade gripped tight, a bruises and scratches forming on her shoulders. Conjuring more wind she blasted herself upwards, then another to rotate herself. Landing on her feet she looked at the person who attacked her and smiled. "Finally," she said. "I was starting to feel bored."

Nervously Shade opened the door and walked to the chair, sitting down. Trying to calm herself she looked at the priest. He looked kind, and reminded her of her uncle, back before everything happened. Somehow it made her feel more at ease, though she felt nervous at the comparison, wondering if this would end the same way.

Kumiko nodded and started typing a reply for KanMien when she heard a screech. Looking up she saw a creature swing a pan at her. Sighing she reached out and cut the tendons in its arm using her claws, and as it dropped the pan, screaming, she continued moving and sliced it's throat. No spikes, she typed. Lots around, all over town probably. Slow, no special abilities. Haven't seen any different types. She paused. They seem kind of weak. She send the message and then ran towards a creature that had gotten close to her, launching a drop kick at it's head. *** KanMien looked at their phone, reading Kumiko's message. "They don't seem to have any abilities or spikes," they told Laurelai. "There are a lot of them, all over town, but they're supposed to be quite weak." They tilted their head, thinking. "Something is off," they muttered. "Why would you unleash something like this? Even a basic cleanup team could deal with them in half an hour." *** Fragarach smiled as a group of the creatures rushed at her. A powerful wind started gathering around her blade, making it heavy to control. She sliced her blade towards them, driving them back. One of them rushed at her, and the wind blew it away as she hit it with the flat of the blade, sending it careering through the other creatures. "Homerun!" She yelled, standing ready as the creatures got back up again. Just as they got up she smiled, blade held straight out to the side. "Fragarach!" She shouted as she swiped the blade forwards, an arc of air flying off it, cutting through the creatures, as well as the walls of the buildings in front of her.

KanMien nodded, and started typing a message to Kumiko. Check if they're Invested, and if so, how many. Also, get numbers, abilities and varieties. If they have spikes, do a threat level evaluation. They paused, remembering the picture Kumiko had sent, and sighed, thinking how she'd likely handle the situation. Show this message to Whisper as well, they added. *** Kumiko ran at one of the creatures, switching to Bull. Charge forming ahead of her she hit it, smashing it into a nearby building. Feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket she got it out, looking at the message KanMien had send back. Investigate the creatures. She nodded, that shouldn't be difficult. Reading further she started pouting. Show this message to Whisper, it said. Annoyed she switched to Cat, running towards Whisper. Got a message, she signed. She showed the message to Whisper. Any ideas? She asked.

Fragarach was walking through the mist-covered streets when the portals opened up, strange creatures walking out, screeching when they saw her. A large smile appeared on her face as she drew the sword on her back. A strong wind buffeted the creatures, driving them back. Grinning she ran forwards, the winds stopping, and suddenly propelling her forwards. She laughed as she stabbed the blade into the nearest creature, smashing it against the wall. She pulled back the blade, and summoning a wind she spun around, slashing the blade straight through the pan held by the creature behind here, as well as the creature itself. "Is that all you've got?" She yelled, laughing. *** Kumiko suddenly looked up as she heard something strange. She let out a pulse, standing around looking relaxed, but quietly switched to cat. Something just appeared, she signed to Whisper. She narrowed her eyes as she saw things moving in the mists. Make that multiple things. She took out a phone. Hang on, got to take a picture. She ran up to the nearest creature, seeing swing down a pan at her. Really? she thought. She ducked beneath it, and aimed her phone's camera at herself and the creature, taking a selfie. The creature let out a loud screech, swinging it's pan at her. She switched to Bear, blocking it with her arm. Sighing, she swung around, hitting the creature and sending it flying. She switched back to Cat, sending the picture to KanMien, when she faintly heard screeches coming from much further away. *** KanMien looked up as they felt something in their pocket. They took out their phone, seeing they had received a message from Kumiko. Opening it they found a picture of Kumiko with a strange creature behind her, holding up a frying pan, while Kumiko raised her thumb up, looking proud. For a few seconds they simply stood there, trying to comprehend what was going on. Finally the shook their head and saw the text attached to the message: "All over the city." Figuring out what Kumiko meant they turned to the others. "Has anyone recieved word about us releasing the abominations?" They asked, sighing. "Because if not, someone else just did something, in which case it might be good to warn our superiors, and possibly tell TUBA this wasn't us." They turned the phone towards the others, showing them the message. @Voidus @ZincAboutIt

Kumiko quickly switched to Cat, trying to peer through the mist. Can see anything, she signed. Mist is blocking my sight, but I don't think I can see anybody. She switched to Bat and let out a few ultrasonic pulses. Can't find any holes, she signed, getting annoyed. Think we can Alleytravel through?

@kenod The spren continued shrieking, and the purple-red fog rushed up, surrounding Zokora and Edalb. Then they were engulfed in bloodlust. @Sorana @Vargo Seldon Kumiko stopped walking, signalling Whisper to stop as well. She looked towards the building. She let out a few additional sound pulses, narrowing her eyes as she heard the results. Switching to Cat she found that she could vaguely make out something, but she wasn't sure what. Something covering the building, she signed. Not sure what, seems transparent. Maybe a forcefield? She looked at Whisper. Want to take a closer look? @Voidus

Lisa nodded to Renata, feeling grateful for the offer, but feeling guilty about it as well. "Don't do anything dangerous," she softly said. She looked at the house, wondering what they could learn about this place. Still, she had a bad feeling about this. It likely wasn't a coincidence they had arrived in this particular location, and the Eye was likely to be from this world as well, which made her suspect that the people living this close to this place wouldn't be all they seemed.

Kumiko quietly walked behind Whisper. Quickly she cycled between Cat, Bat and Dog, making sure she was using all of her special senses. A slight smile crept onto her face as she remembered how disorienting it used to be. She suddenly paused, noticing something. @Ark1002

Lisa nodded, and started walking in the direction Renata had indicated, cutting away some of the underbrush. She looked behind her to see if the others were following. She felt nervous at the idea of going to a possible cannibal house, and gripped the heft of her blade tightly, trying to let the feeling reassure her.

"We won't kill innocents just for fun," Amara said. Lilia looked at her. We don't? she wondered. She had no clue what everyone was talking about, and sat down at a table, dozing off. She decided to just wait until the others had decided what to do. She could decide on helping them after that.

Not really, nightwatcher boons can be other things as well, such as receiving an object or having your memory altered. Those particular boons just stood out. Investure granting boons have been used too. As for Bondsmiths, I'd say creating one would be outside the Nightwatcher's scope (though Cultivation might be able to do it?). The reason for this is that creating a new Bondsmith likely requires a godspren or something similar, which I don't think the Nightwatcher can create (you might want a mod's opinion on this). Of course, the Nightwatcher might be able to bond someone and make them a Bondsmith, but I'm not sure how well that'd work, given that it'll still require the right personality for swearing the oaths. Also, it might fall under the same rule as limiting character interactions with canonical characters, because of how future book releases can mess stuff up, such as a canonical character binding the Nightwatcher in SA 4 and us having to decide if that is canon in the alleyverse, and what'd happen with the alleyverse character who has bonded the spren as well.

Lisa looked at Aderet in shock. "You want one of us to serve as bait?" She asked, trying to make sure she understood it correctly. She shook her head. "That particular plan sounds as if it would cause the bait to die if it turns out something is wrong." She shuddered. "No offense, but that sounds completely insane. We've got no clue about what's going on and you want to deliberately place people in more danger?" She glared at Aderet. "Also," she continued, "If the person send in can escape we could have gone in with all of us anyway, while if they get taken out immediately we'd have to rescue them anyway, unless you're prepared to simply abandon them, which is a bad precedent to set when you're not a fighter yourself. And that's not counting that they might already be dead but we didn't know, meaning we'd mount a meaningless rescue. And if they don't get taken out immediately we'd be led into a trap anyway if we got invited in and they had bad intentions." She shook her head again. "That entire plan is basically useless if nothing bad is going on, and if it turns out something is wrong it'll likely just kill someone who's death could have been avoided. If we're that afraid of the place we should just avoid it." She thought about that. Avoiding the place actually seemed like an attractive option. Or we could just rush in and kill everyone, she thought in a sarcastic tone, then winced, shocked by the fact that the thought actually seemed fairly reasonable to her.

A lot, though it might be best to ignore the Era 1 (and some Era 2) boons, because of how game-breaking they are. Some of the more noticeable ones are Laurelai's (forging without soulstamps, bane has random investure effects happen after forging something) and the Haunt (made immortal but turned into a spren as a bane, can't interfere that much with the world and is hard to see). Alright. For how long are you planning to make it last though? It doesn't seem like the type of thing you can keep up for long, because the lack of communication will make interacting with other characters rather difficult.
-
Normally you'd use something that fits with the character's personality or backstory. Generally it's good to balance boons with banes though, to prevent the boon from being much stronger than the bane. Given what he wished for I guess he'll get something really powerful but with a really problematic bane (and given some past boons we've had in the RP getting the strongest boon would likely be completely overpowered). Another option is that he'll get something that is really difficult to accomplish for the Nightwatcher but doesn't give much benefit. The character can't really get approved before you've decided on this though. You also mentioned that he can't speak any language other than Reshi. How would this work for him? The issue is that the alleyverse has some form of translation effect applied to people who arrive there. This translation effect doesn't always work (in the case it's important for the character), but if they don't you'll have the problem that you can't talk to any of the other characters, unless you mitigate this by giving him a translation amulet.

Kumiko walked behind Whisper. Looking around she pulled up her cloak as well, hiding her ears. After that she changed her form to that of a bat, skin turning into a leathery grey, and her ears grew pointed. She let out an ultrasonic screech, forming an image of her surroundings, looking for anything interesting, but found that the mists interfered with the sound. Annoyed she switched to cat, trying to use her night-vision to get a better idea of what was in the mists.

Kumiko looked at the building Whisper indicated. Looks good, she signed back. walking around sound good though, otherwise we might miss something. Besides, she thought, she didn't want to sit on a roof for who knows how long. Much better to walk around the place first, see if there's a quicker way to do this.

"Thanks," Lilia said with a happy smile. She carefully dragged Karl's body to the center and started drawing runes around him, sometimes stopping to look at his body and take a few measurements. The runes drew out two circles around him, straight lines of runes connecting them, forming two rhombi at right angles to each other. At the four places where the the lines touched the outer circle holes were left, and she put small Crystals in each of them. She looked at the structure, tapping her chin in thought. She wondered what else to add. It would be a waste to just heal him after all. Looking at the crystal on his chest she saw she didn't have that much time left though, and decided to go with something more simple. She quickly started writing, building on the nerve modification she had already created for the healing, improving their speed. She also ended up changing his hair to white as her signature, though it wouldn't show until after it had grown out enough. Smiling she stood at one of the crystals, and spread out her arms. "breyta og verða ný!" She intoned, and the the Crystals sparked, and then vanished as the magic rushed through the runes into Karl's body. She lowered her arms, grinning. "Done," she said.

I don't really know either, I do have similar issues sometimes, but in my case it's more that I need to get my mind in the right state to write a specific character, and when I don't have it for one reason or another the personality/portrayal of that character tends to fluctuate. It's one of the reasons why I tend to create detailed backstories, since it helps with the process.
-
I don't really know, I've never created healers before. I guess the main issue is that a lot of interesting interactions are during combat, and a pure healer won't be able to do much, they can only wait until someone gets hurt, bring them back and then stand back as everything continues, so not a lot of room for showcasing personality there. There's also the fact that healers can easily be overpowered, which means that you'll need to keep their power down, which in turn makes them too weak and ineffective, which gives them even less purpose in the story. My guess is that this is why most healers in tabletop RPGs and MMOs have combat skills as well, with healing being just a part of their character.
