  1. Lilia nodded. "Make sure there's a large open space for me to work in," she said. "Drawing all the runes for reconnecting all the nerves of a broken spine is a real pain." She looked at the little bit of charcoal she held in her hand. "Also, some more charcoal would be good. I need something to draw with, and I've used up most of this thing."
  2. "Heal him, you mean?" Lilia asked. She thought for a few seconds and shrugged. "Sure," she said. She knelt down next to the boy, tearing open his shirt, and took out a piece of charcoal from her pocket. "First we need to keep his heart beating," she said to herself while quickly drawing runes on his chest. She sounded as if she was recalling old lessons from her youth, or as if she was teaching in a classroom. "That, and making sure he's breathing. Luckily the body does this on it's own, normally. This makes it easy to stimulate the correct muscles, just activate the right nerves in the right pattern." She started moving on to his stomach with her runes, running out of space on his chest, runes small enough that discerning their meanings was hard. "Of course, there is a time limit. Even if you can make the body move days after it's death, it doesn't mean that the mind is still alive. Even a few minutes without a heartbeat is enough to do large amounts of damage, so when dealing with people whose heart has stopped you need to finish your spell within two minutes, any longer than that and the risk of brain damage becomes too big." She took out a knife, and carefully made a small hole on his sternum, right in the center of the runes. She quickly took out a Crystal from somewhere on her body, and pushed it into the small hole, the Crystal fitting exactly. The Crystal and the runes reacted to the blood and started glowing, and Karl's chest slowly started rising and falling, settling into a steady rhythm. Feeling his wrist Lilia confirmed that his pulse was both stable and strong. She smiled. "Of course, if you're good enough that you can draw the spell within this time-limit, you'll have ample time afterwards to actually go and fix the damage."
  3. Yeah. I actually didn't intend her to be a healer though, since Sorana already had one. Given that she's somewhat of a Druid type character having a secondary task as healer does fit to some degree though. Edit: And now the chorus of Stayin' Alive from Bee Gees starts playing.
  4. You're talking about a mage whose whole village specializes in biological manipulation, and who can turn people into living, moving plants. The biggest IC reason she generally doesn't heal people is because it's considered as being not enough of a challenge in her culture.
  5. In that case Lilia can heal him. She can create a basic spell to keep his heart and breathing going within 2 minutes, basically putting him on life-support. Afterwards she'll have the time to fix his spine as well.
  6. So the monster broke Karl's neck. Is he still actually alive at the moment? Because in that case Lilia can heal him.
  7. Lilia walked out of the Fens, following a small spirit. "Thanks you," she told it, and crushed a little bit of crystal, handing over the powder. The spirit quickly flew towards their reward, lighting up as they absorbed the Investure. She walked towards the inn, only to hear a scream coming from inside. Feeling curious she looked inside, seeing a bloody boy lying on the floor. "Did something happen?" She asked, looking at the boy.
  8. Are you okay with her dropping in now? It'll ruin the mood a bit. Otherwise I'll wait for a better moment.
  9. Just wash your face, Lisa mentally suggested. "Maybe stay outside?" She hesitantly suggested. "As long as you stay close enough you should be able to come immediately if there is any trouble, but you'd be out of sight, so you wouldn't scare anybody."
  10. Lisa nodded. "Sounds good," she said. She wondered what to do if things went wrong though. The size of her sword meant that it would be dangerous to swing around if people walked in front of her, especially in a crowded room. She shrugged. Lizanne would have already thought of that, she thought. She seemed like she had everything under control.
  11. I'll just have Lilia walk into the inn looking very confused/lost. Edit: At least, I think you're all in the inn right now? And the thing killed one of the people there without actually being present?
  12. Lisa was swinging around her sword, trying to get the thing to stay on course. She winced as she accidentally moved her upper body too much. She looked up when Renata mentioned she had seen a house. "Sounds good, she said to Lizanne. "Should we just go in with all of us though? It might scare them." She thought a bit about the situation and frowned. "Actually, we might want to be careful. We've got no clue who or what lives there."
  13. Alright. My character should still be together with the others in the fens, so I'll just go along with what they do. Otherwise she'll probably just turn up again at the inn.
  14. Can anyone tell me what's happening at the moment? Also, where are all the other characters right now?
  15. Lisa thought for a bit. She wouldn't be able to do much, but at least it would get her away from the ruins. On the other hand, she might come across Hellbent's body. A light shudder went through her at that thought. She nodded. "I'll be coming as well," she said.
  16. "Do you have anything I can help with?" Lisa asked, swinging up her left arm to emphasize her current state. "Otherwise I'll swinging this sword around a bit, I want to figure out how to use it in a way that doesn't get myself killed." She tried to smile, hoping to make it sound like a joke.
  17. "Alright," Lisa said. "We'll probably need to make packs as well, if we aren't planning on being back by nightfall."
  18. "What about Arun?" Lisa asked. "Are we going to make a stretcher and use that, or should we do something else?"
  19. Lisa grimaced. "I used to," she said. "But I don't think I really can right now." She suddenly looked at the forest. "I think I saw something in the forest though, last night. It looked a bit like a stone wall. We might find something in that direction, and we already have something of a path, thanks to Hellbent."
  20. Kumiko nodded. "I can," she said. Both she and KanMien took their glasses, and raised them as well.
  21. KanMien tilted their reply, not immediately understanding the reply. "Ah, you meant that," they said when they figured it out. "I didn't mean actually taking a Stranger, that would end horribly. I meant having Kumiko copy its abilities." They tilted their head again. "Does that still count as using Abominations?"
  22. Lisa looked at Renata. "Normally I'd agree with Wilhelm," she said. "We've got one person who can't walk, and I'll likely have trouble with walking longer distances too, given the state of my ribs. This place also has a number of resources. On top of that," she added, "It's the only location we know of that has the rift that allows for travel between worlds. I'd sent out small scouting parties to check the surroundings, but I'd have the majority stay here, to watch the place." "That won't work though," she said, looking around. "This place doesn't work as a shelter. The only defensible location is the cellar, and once we're in there we'd have no way out. We only have two people capable of fighting, me and Wilhelm, and I have no experience using Shardblades, which means both groups would be even more vulnerable to attack if we'd split up." "Of course, that Eye is also still out there," she continued in a more quiet tone. "Given it's likely nature it probably won't be a direct threat, but it might still be capable of harming us in other ways. We also don't know if there's anything else nearby that it can communicate with." "And to top it all off," she finished, "there's the fact that we can't use the passage back here to travel to our world, even if we'd manage to repair the machine."
  23. Kumiko nodded. "Sounds good," she said. She then looked at KanMien. "Can you?" she asked, holding out her hand. "Sure," they said, grabbing it, and then releasing it again. "It might be good to stop by the abominations before you go," they said. "The Strangers have the ability to make themselves unnoticeable. It might come in handy."
