  1. mistborn have too much versatility. Plus the metallic arts naturally integrate better into modern life. Practically everything has metal now to be pushed. Emotional Allomancy is insanely useful and each metal is a lot more commonplace (even in the cosmere) than stormlight.
  2. Ending of The Emperor's Soul probably tops the list for me. It was the perfect conclusion to both Shai and Gaotona's arcs Ending of Infinity Blade: Redemption - I honestly can't believe how well Brandon did with this novella considering his starting material was basically a vanilla dungeon crawler rpg. Despite being around 1/10th of the length of a standard Sanderson novel it probably lands somewhere in my top 10 favorite Sanderson works.
  3. Has Adolin really never maintained a relationship for more than a few months, though? They really haven't been through that much together yet.
  4. The thing is, TLR will have a better reaction speed than the Steeldancer (Steelbringer?) because of his zinc compounding and pewter on top of an equal amount of steel compounding. TLR can push it. It may be harder to push than an inquisitor spike, but it won't matter when it's the lord ruler we're talking about. If Shardblades are pushable (and they are), he can do it. You can't ignore friction, but you can just push through it if your skin is harder than steel and you have infinite healing. Another thing to consider is that his increased ability with pewter will grant him some additional speed He can store the heat into a bronzemind too if he needs to. A Dustbringer won't do much more than an Edgedancer, imo. He won't be able to directly affect TLR with hax abilities due to his insane investiture levels, and the fire they are implied to use won't hurt TLR at all since he can heal instantly.
  5. I have to agree with @MRex here. Atium can be beaten with a massive speed advantage, but Steeldancer doesn't even have that, since TLR can compound nicrosil into A-Pewter as well to basically ignore friction with durability and strength along with his equivalent steel compounding (It's also possible that his greater allomantic strength would let him compound steel more efficiently). The upper limit of feruchemy will probably hit before Steeldancer can gain a meaningful speed advantage. TLR can also tap mental speed, allowing him to react faster, along with Atium, which will let him abuse that reaction time to the fullest. He can also push the shardblade with his increased steelpushing power and heal most shardblade wounds. His punches will shatter plate with ease, he can dodge or push the shardblade, and he has greater reaction speed coupled with equal or greater combat/movement speed. Since they can one-shot each other, atium gives TLR a huge advantage once they fight hand to hand.
  6. So far the first 2 flashback chapters have been the first two from the Thrill, so I think the next two will be the other Thrill chapters, given their in-world time relation. We might get a Dalinar wedding sequence or something thrown in between though, since I'm not sure that's something Branderson would skip.
  7. Eh. I really don't like the cover but I'll probably just buy it anyway and change the cover if i need to because the search function on Kindle is so useful I can't not buy it.
  8. Maybe. You can explain it away pretty easily as gem-based metaphors in a gem-based society but Branderson's foreshadowing is usually like that.
  9. Not sure this has been WoB'd but Elantrian / Duralumin feruchemist has some nice potential. Elantrians are some of the most powerful and versatile non-shard beings in the cosmere, and one with mobility around sel could be pretty insane. btw, can you store breaths, stormlight, or power from the Dor in a nicrosilmind?
  10. Kelsier's crew vs current Radiants+Adolin, except kelsier's crew get the abilities they gain later in the series (except sazed of course)
  11. infinity blade: Redemption is up there for best Branderson novella, imo. You should probably read the first one first and playing Infinity Blade 2 gives better context but you don't have to.
  12. Does Elhokar not even know that Kaladin is gone?
  13. If the Stone Shamans show up in Oathbringer, can Dalinar&Co. fend them off? Or are they better off just surrendering the honorblade? What if Jasnah, Kaladin, and maybe Szeth show up to help?
  14. next flashback will also be pre-marriage (it will be the highstorm party one) if Branderson keeps up his pattern of throwing in the Thrill chapters from Unfettered first. It's timestamp is also after the chapter 11 flashback, meaning that Dalinar did get his shards independently. Major spoilers for thrill chapters below on kholin shards
  15. That might matter in another world, and it still probably matters a bit, but what Roshar needs most in its highprinces right now is strong military leaders. Which Adolin certainly is. The desolation is likely to last for years
  16. What does everyone think about the idea of Highprince Adolin? I haven't read the whole thread but on the off chance that this hasn't come up yet, Dalinar was forced to abdicate his princedom by Elhokar so Adolin should be the new highprince. @maxal
  17. Yeah I thought that too but I came across this quote in WoR during my reread this week: Chapter 2 of Oathbringer Skar comments on Kaladin's change of eye color at the Tower.
