  1. wow a lot of deaths this cycle although I can't say I'm surprised with the number of people dying every cycle
  2. No real way for them to tell what metal his minds were made of without eating them or calling in a metallurgist which i doubt they did. Nicrosil looks pretty ordinary too - and they didn't find any of the other metals like aluminum or electrum so I don't think they would have found nicrosil either. Besides, TLR got mastery of the metallic arts from his ascension right? That surely includes the unknown metals.
  3. It's possible this wouldn't be the case. TLR likely knew about all the metals from his ascension and was using nicrosil feruchemy (maybe compounding, although I imagine nicrosil was very rare) to soothe hundreds of thousands of people at once.
  4. Bonus! Not a novel but The Emperor's Soul is easily my favorite cosmere work 1. Words of Radiance 2. The Alloy of Law 3. The Final Empire 4. The Hero of Ages...Likely would be #2 but I accidentally read the ending when I was 12 and my dad checked it out and never forgot it so i absolutely spoiled it for myself 5. The Way of Kings 6. Shadows of Self 7. Bands of Mourning 8. Warbreaker 9. The Well of Ascension 9. Elantris
  5. I'd say out of the full novels WoK was by far my least favorite. Shallan just bored me (felt more like a worldbuilding experiment for the first half of the book) and Dalinar's chapters and chapters of not doing anything except wondering whether he was insane or not was kind of annoying. Plus Kaladin living a crappy life gets kind of old too after a few chapters.
  6. oh darn thats pretty bad Edit: Any vigs don't target orlok re-edit: NVM do target orlok
  7. ha. I finished except for last day could u summarize for me?
  8. pretty sure most of the players are neutral in this game.
  9. nothing prevents raoden from using multiple shields. He could make four shields that block marsh out from every side. They haven't been shown to "run out" either. Raoden can definitely kill marsh through his shield, because it's just a physical barrier that interacts with physical force. His investiture based attacks will work and his fire will work either way because it's not a projectile and thus isn't easily dodgable or blockable. Atium so far hasn't been shown to detect non-physical presences like fire or elantrian energy bolts. Raoden can heal himself with AonDor even if his innate healing factor isn't as strong as I thought it was. He was just unable to use his powers because Dilaf knew to go for the hands. And even if Marsh uses steel, Raoden has shown the speed to react to him before he closes the distance (assuming they're at least 40 or so feet away from each other). He is able to use Aon Edo before the supernaturally fast Dilaf can swing a sword at him.
  10. Why Raoden will Win: Powers: Enhanced strength: Elantrians are stated to be faster and stronger than normal men, although not as strong or fast as Dakhor monks. Healing: Elantrians have been shown to be able to heal themselves from supposedly fatal burns in the climax of Elantris. They were stabbed, thrown into a pile, and set on fire, yet they all survived. This might even be better than Marsh's insane healing factor, plus Raoden doesn't run out of healing. Damage output: Raoden has the energy output to one-shot Marsh. His aon-based attacks reduced a Dakhor with an enhanced skeletal structure to a smoking charred pile of flesh. Marsh might have healing, but from a pure durability standpoint he won't be able to hold up against fully powered Aons. You can't really heal from being reduced to a skeleton, even with F-Gold. The aonDor based attacks won't really be dodgable even with Feruchemical steel because Da seems to be auto aiming and Ehe isn't a projectile. Shield: This is the important one. Raoden's aons let him make a physical shield that can keep out essentially any physical force. Marsh won't be able to affect raoden except for emotional allomancy, which is not going to be effective for long in a fight. Raoden has shown unmatched mental strength and determination in being able to fight through his Hoed condition and restore Elantris. Marsh never opens with speed. This is an important point. All hope of Marsh winning lies in him opening with a blitz. He can't hope to break Raoden's near-unbreakable magic shield. However, he never starts his fights with F-Steel. A-Steel, maybe, but that's not a deal breaker since Raoden can still erect a shield and has a healing factor capable of healing from coin wounds. After a shield has been raised, Raoden can use unpredictable fire pillars and energy blasts to kill marsh with impunity.
  11. K I caught up on the thread and stuff. Sorry for inactivity I had a pretty hectic end to summer since I had a 1 week period to do basically all my summer work for my AP classes.
  12. I'll sign up as Pickle the small-time thief
  13. Raoden should beat Zane. Fully powered his shield Aon seemed to be pretty tough, tougher than Zane can get through easily anyway. His fire Aon is basically impossible to dodge since it's a pillar rather than a projectile, and his energy attacks don't seem easy to dodge at all. They appear to be self-aiming, in fact. So basically Raoden can just camp behind his Aon wall and call fire out of the ground to cripple Zane, then teleport out of his shield and vaporize him with energy attacks.
  14. I confess I skipped most of Shallan's storyline in the first half of WoK.
  15. how is this possible? Marsh can't steal nahel bonds as far as we know
  16. I think you guys are overrating Jasnah a bit here. She's powerful and has a potentially game-breaking ability in soulcasting, but she's untrained and Marsh has 22 heavily invested spikes on him that will prevent him from being soulcasted. He sees the spikes as part of him now and everyone else does the same, which ought to make the spikes part of him cognitively, preventing Jasnah from soulcasting him without his spikes. We also haven't seen Jasnah soulcast any invested individual at all, and Marsh is still an innate Seeker. In fact, one of her gems cracked when she soulcasted a vanilla human at close range. There is absolutely nothing indicating she can soulcast a Seeker like Marsh, let alone an inquisitor. She also has no real counter to a spray of coins. She won't be able to soulcast all of them before they reach her since each coin is a separate cognitive entity. Her shardblade is practically useless as well since Marsh has 5 minutes of Atium, far more than he needs to kill Jasnah, who isn't a warrior. And that's not even mentioning F-Steel which is an autowin.
  17. Is that a Windrunner in full plate though? Even if this is possible with Kaladin's powers, I don't think it's the kind of thing he could do constantly in combat. A reverse lashing prevents him from getting shredded with coins but it doesn't prevent Vin from using steel/iron to manipulate the thing he sticks the coins to since a reverse lashing wouldn't invest the coins.
  18. Kaladin Vs Arclo Can't see Kaladin winning this one. Arclo is durable and versatile enough to give anyone trouble, and he beat two skybreakers without breaking a sweat. Maybe Kaladin could hold out a little while by reverse-lashing Arclo's bugs to different objects but he has no real way to kill Arclo even if he incapacitates him. Vasher Vs Raoden Vasher isn't getting past Raoden's shield aons, illusions, fireballs/energy bolts, teleblitzes, and whatever else Raoden happens to have in his toolbox. Vasher may have more experience but Raoden has too much raw power and he can stall Vasher indefinitely with shields and teleportation. Marsh Vs Jasnah Jasnah hasn't shown the ability to soulcast at distances greater than a few feet and she's not battle trained. She gets peppered with coins/ Feruchemical steel blitzed pretty quickly. Plus I think that since Jasnah will see his spikes as part of him she will be unable to soulcast him with the spikes' investiture interfering. Vin Vs Denth Vin wins any number of ways Kelsier Vs Elend Kell ought to be able to take him. I think Elend is roughly equal to the Inquisitor Kelsier killed. Kelsier is much more experienced and much more capable with the two most important metals for a mistborn fight (Iron and steel)
  19. So he has to draw elantris? Or he has to draw the normal Aons he uses to attack and defend himself?
  20. In that case, I enter Raoden
