  1. Why do you disagree? The Rabbis are pretty clear on their opinions of ‘that man.’ Or do you disagree with their general opinion?
  2. The ones we’ve seen. There may be others - I wouldn’t put it past Kell to recruit one. And sending a letter is not the same thing as being involved. Saze probably is, but we haven’t actually seen evidence of it yet.
  3. The closest thing to old school Catholic-type Christianity in the Cosmere is the religion intentionally started by a conartist who is currently playing antagonist in another series. It makes me laugh every single time I really consider it. The parallels are completely intentional - in and out of world - but Kelsier is the least Jesus-like person you could think of to end up in that role. It’s like Brandon went: ‘what if Jesus was a psychopath, a conartist and a radical revolutionary who doesn’t know when to stay dead or stop meddling?’ (Of course if you’re Jewish, like me, it’s a very accurate depiction. Except that we think he stayed very dead. But, y’know, our opinion isn’t the most popular one.)
  4. Ah. That I couldn’t tell you. Veil seems to. Shallan was crushing on Jasnah though, so maybe she likes older, intelligent women?
  5. Technically, we have only seen proof of Kelsier’s involvement on Roshar. The benefit was the observed one: Wax returned to Elendel to act as Harmony’s champion. And Kell would probably expect Saze to inform Paalm/Wax who had been behind the deception if it came up. Saze would feel too guilty for not stopping Kelsier though and it’s also not like Saze to transfer guilt even when he should.
  6. Kelsier would see it as a benefit. Whether or not Saze agrees... But ultimately it was a benefit, so I don’t see how you’re arguing otherwise. Wax isn’t one of Kelsier’s. And he has no problem manipulating people he doesn’t care about. Wax is Harmony’s and he wasn’t doing what Saze needed him to do, so Kelsier arranged matters so Wax would. Now, if Wax was a Ghostblood... You’re arguing that Kelsier has to be willing to break a line we haven’t seen him break and do something everything we know about him says he wouldn’t, but also claiming that he wouldn’t con Wax into killing his wife? You’re literally arguing against yourself here...
  7. Gets garbage. Inserts the Cosmere vending machine game.
  8. Oh, the GBs totally took his rings. I just find it suspicious that they keep being blamed/appear to be responsible for murders, but we never see the act committed. Especially when we know several of those accusations were wrong.
  9. Kell would not kill your kids. He does have his lines and that’s one of them. Not much of a line, but hey! And if your wife is pregnant he’ll spare her too - at least until she gives birth. I think we need to know what Kelsier really wants before jumping to conclusions. So far we’ve mostly seen his crew trying to get ahold of ethically sustainable Investiture, try to free him from Scadrial, and attempt to wipe out the SoH who - lets be fair - deserve it. The only thing I’ve really had an issue with is Mraize selling Lift - and he did ensure she’d survive the sale, which is better than a lot of antagonist characters we’ve seen. Right now he seems to be running the Cosmere Mafia, which is very in character for Kelsier. He’s a thief and a conman before everything. That is the kind of thing he would naturally do. Ruling, however, bores him. WoB on that one, btw. An old one, but borne out by his decision to quit the South to run the Ghostbloods (probably.) He literally was a ruler there and he gave it up to do what he enjoys most - subterfuge. Cons. Trickery. One upping everyone else. Kelsier has no desire to be TLR. That would be too easy - and much too boring. He just wants to outwit everyone else. I don’t think Saze was the one behind Lessie’s death though. I think Kelsier did it as a favor to Sazed. It’s not Saze’s MO - it’s Kelsier’s. The whole thing was a con. Tricking someone into thinking they murdered their wife is a very Kelsier move. Sazed is too honest for it; he kept information from Wax later, but only because he knew Wax would make the same choice regardless and he wanted to make it easier for him. For the con to work someone had to keep Paalm from revealing herself for hours and Kelsier is cold enough to do it. I don’t think Saze is.
  10. I’d be a lot more convinced if this wasn’t the third time someone went ‘the GBs did it!’ without seeing the crime. Once, fine. Twice? Okay... Three times? I’m suspicious. For those curious: Shallan’s driver - assumes to be the GBs, but we never see them do it and it doesn’t match their MO. Ialai - was killed by Radiant, the only 100% not a GB member of the three. Gerrah - seemingly killed by Mraize, does fit the MO, and is only suspicious due to the two preceding situations especially when considering: Thaidakar has ALSO been accused of planning three murders he didn’t have anything to with: Gavilar - killed by the Parshendi Attempted on Amaram - the GBs did not send Helaran Jezrian - killed by Vyre for reasons unrelated to the GBs This... is suspicious. Either the GBs are going to turn out to be responsible for all of the above somehow or they’re actually innocent, because this has happened too often to be a coincidence.
  11. You get the FBI and a jail sentence. Inserts the Mistborn crew.
  12. I’d argue that in the Space Age you could literally pay for some systems (like Breath and Allomancy/Feruchemy). Others would require things like Charsima/Wisdom throws and having the correct attributes (Spren bonds).
  13. This still leaves a large number of protagonist aligned characters open on Scadrial, lol! But I’m guessing that isn’t what you meant... Ral or Herli?
  14. Kelsier frowned, hearing the edge in Silk’s voice. He glanced over, understanding in his hazel eye. “These caverns are too large to be remotely like the Pits,” he said quietly, “but the darkness...” Unconsciously, he slid his right hand into the left’s sleeve, scratching at the scars beneath.
  15. Gets a firetruck. Inserts Arien.
  16. Gets chocolate covered mints. Inserts a Vala.
  17. He knows about it and is willing to use it. That’s not the same thing as liking it. That’s acknowledging that it’s useful and has a purpose. True most people would find it distasteful, but Kelsier has never been most people. Kelsier likes secrets. Saze wanting to keep hemalurgy secret is just encouraging Kell to keep studying it, lol.
  18. The various apprentices in Clubs shop? Or Clubs himself (though I don’t consider him minor.)
  19. I am well aware of what Kelsier is and would never back him in RL. As a character I adore him, as I do most tricksters. I find their chaotic neutral natures a lot of fun. My personal reasons are very simple though: Kelsier helps me get through my PMDD. He saves my life multiple times a year. So I’ll join his crew out of simple gratitude. And you may want to consider that he’s a literal lifesaver for some people before bashing him. And no, Kaladin is NO help whatsoever. He makes me want to kill myself... very, very literally. Also, Kelsier would not be okay with the wholesale slaughter of innocents. WoB is that he wouldn’t approve of what Taravangian was willing to do, although Kell can get close to it. However, I will grant that his interpretation of ‘innocence’ leaves much to be desired. As for a deal with Odium... currently the GBs want Odium to lose. If he does make a deal, a lot would depend on the reasons for the deal and what said deal involved. If it’s something like: we’ll help you destroy these Radiants in exchange for a promise never to involve yourself with, or otherwise harm, Scadrial, its people, and its Shard - oh, and also give us regular Shadesmar access - then I’d be perfectly fine with it.
  20. I am, but rarely eat the third seudah. And I disagree; it’s an interesting way to get to know one another. TPBM REALLY wants The Lost Metal after finishing RoW.
  21. Kelsier raises a brow at David. “Always avaricious, my friend. I think you’d have an easier time robbing that giant in the atrium.” If the glowing object in the man’s pocket was what Kelsier suspected it was anyway.
  22. Livers don’t actually grow back. What actually happens is that there are two lobes. One love is transplanted and both grow in size to make up the difference.
  23. Well, I found evidence that even if Preservation didn’t plan past HoA someone else did: Questioner So first, about Trell… He was first mentioned in the books in the first Mistborn book. Did you know what role he'll be playing in the future books? Brandon Sanderson When I wrote it? When I actually wrote Mistborn, no, by the time I’d done revisions and finished the series, then I knew. Mistborn was very exploratory, the first book, once I finished it then I build the outline to fit it, that’s very common for me that I write a first book without an outline and then I build the outline around it. Questioner Will Nalt, brother of Trell <inaudible> Brandon Sanderson The brother? So there’s something very weird happening with Trell, very very weird, that I’m not going to explain quite yet, so that’s a RAFO. Brandon has foreshadowed Era 3 in Mistborn Era 1...
