  1. Kelsier smiled, standing up in one quick, fluid motion. “I’m going to find Marie,” he told Sage. “See if she needs some help.” He drew his dagger, rolling it about his hand. It would be fun if nothing else - and no less than these people deserved. They should have chosen another master.
  2. He’s only a Sliver later on. He initially became a Shadow due to merging with the Well - and it’s possible this could have happened with the Pits. So it seems merging with concentrated Investiture, such as that of a Perpendicularity, will allow someone to become a Shadow without direct Shardic interference.
  3. Kelsier was not direct Shardic intervention; anyone could have used the Well as he did. And we don’t know how the Threnodite ones work at all.
  4. He chuckled. “Fair enough. When you do, tell Ganache. She’ll forward it to me.”
  5. This is the likeliest possibility. However, I suspect that our primary protagonists will be Scadrian. Not all, obviously, seeing as Hoid will be a major character.
  6. “You tell me.” He shot her an amused look. “I told you, Sage: I’m not going to give you all the answers. Some you’ll need to figure out for yourself.”
  7. He grinned. “That’s one way. There’s another, albeit less effective and considerably messier.”
  8. The Survivor glanced over at her writing. “Spikes decay when not in use,” he explained. “So the power granted by the earrings is too slight to have an effect.” Well, not much of one, anyway. “There are other ways to avoid the decay problem.” He smirked, watching Sage closely. “Care to guess?”
  9. Preservation does say it, but Brandon clarified that it was the Well that was important, not Preservation.
  10. I’d like to see it too!
  11. The Nightwatcher had it before Nale though...
  12. Kell’s was actually due to the Well. Preservation just gave him a - completely literal - push.
  13. Scadrial is likely to be the protagonist side, actually. This is because it’s a Mistborn series, not a Stormlight one. I think Nalthis is neutral and supplying both sides of the Cold War.
  14. Or Marsh using his Invested spikes as metalminds, which has its own issues. Or Sazed saying that Seekers often become Savants unknowingly which contradicts Brandon’s later thoughts regarding that risk.
  15. I can free you, Kelsier sent to the Inquisitor. But it will require me to take control for a moment first. Will you let me? He had no intention of directly violating Marie’s autonomy without her consent - for multiple reasons. The Survivor nodded at Sage. “Exactly. They’re made from old Inquisitor spikes. Hemalurgy is evil - except when Saze and his servants use it, apparently.”
  16. “Saze mentions it obliquely in his book,” Kelsier said lightly, “when he explains about Ruin’s influence. And where he mentions the Inquisitors. But for the most part he’s tried to have the knowledge buried. Ironic, because he uses it to communicate with his followers.” “Spook and I used to study it, trying to bring me back,” a brief flicker of annoyance crossed the Survivor’s face. “Saze didn’t approve. We succeeded anyway.” He tapped his spike lightly with one scarred finger. “The South knows a bit more, but I mostly left it up to them to figure it out. Assuming they want to, of course. But then, Saze and I have rather different opinions on certain matters.”
  17. Oh, thanks! Yeah, it’s fine. I think I PMed it because I wasn’t sure if I could show it or not.
  18. “Some,” Kelsier said. “Seems he had contact with an hemalurgist. He put the information on a Coppermind for me; I’ll give it to Ganache when we get back.”
  19. If it includes Inspire it’s probably mine. Although I’ve since changed the word to Aspire, which fits what I intended better. The chart also included Push/Pull and Physical/Spiritual. Is that the one you were thinking of?
  20. He smiled warmly, draping an arm of her shoulders. “You’ll do fine, Sage.”
  21. He smiled at her. “Then it’s nothing that needs an answer now. You’re stronger than you think you are,” he looked at her intently. “And your emotions are part of that strength. Don’t doubt that. Emotion, passion, fuels us. It keeps us going. Only a corpse is emotionless. Souls... Souls are emotion. If you can’t feel, you aren’t living.”
  22. “Come to a decision?” Kelsier asked after a few minutes had passed is companionable silence. Well, if your definition of silence included a multitude of pained screams. He paused at that, considering. Are you choosing to let them bleed out? he sent to Marie, or you can’t just kill? Or both? @AonEne
