  1. so people have voted both bookwyrm and alvron citing reasons of not wanting the other to be the exe iiiinteresting you know, i’m alright with that being the two trains at the eod though
  2. Vote Tally Ookla the Perpetual (2): Ashbringer, DrakeMarshall Fifth Scholar (1): Devotary of Spontaneity Matrim's_Dice (1): Fifth Scholar Ashbringer (1): Madagascar JNV (1): Ookla the Myopic Madagascar (1): Ookla the Tall Soo everyone has 1 vote except Bookwyrm has 2 I am not the most excited with that But I am also one of the votes on Bookwyrm so there isn't really a lot of consolidating I can do with my vote And the other person I'd maybe vote is Alv who no longer has any votes You know With the quiet voting scene This does not particularly feel like a cycle where the exe is going to be productive Or at least, there are so few amount of votes on anyone that I'm not sure the elims would even feel a need to react At least, at this point, the jedi ought to have more vote manipping power than the sith as per the clarifications about what happens when Desann Reborn dies But this does not help discussion a whole lot Nor am I comfortable with leaving it all up to them sigh I'm going to have to get up to check how things look at rollover aren't I
  3. I read your case yes To elaborate: The main weird thing about your vote was the circumstances I'd say, not the reasoning I can vibe with the feeling of "village reading Madagascar slightly, but not actually sure why" I'm not convinced that Madagascar not posting a reads list or otherwise doing a big meaty analysis post is evil indicative, since to my knowledge Mad has never done those things regardless of alignment, and Mad has ostensibly given reasons for individual votes they cast... Granted, I've only played 2 games with Madagascar before, so I don't have a big sample size to draw a conclusion from. Granted x2, that might still be more than most. Nevertheless, I take your point. Madagascar seems to be going out of their way to avoid engaging in the major voting trains or discussion. I do think there are village-aligned reasons for doing so. Diversifying votes is underrated tbh. However it also means whatever village gut read I have on Madagascar is fairly meaningless. So... I guess I have a neutral read of Mad? They aren't my first choice, but they also aren't the worst person to start a wagon on. Speaking of trains Vote Tally Alvron (2): Fifth Scholar, Madagascar JNV (2): DrakeMarshall, Wizard the Myopic Madagascar (2): Matrim the Tall, Fadran the [Redacted] Fifth Scholar (1): Devotary of Spontaneity I'd like to nominate a new one, not the least of which because JNV hasn't posted at all today, which makes a JNV train kind of boring. I am once more asking for your financial support what are people's thoughts about Bookwyrm?
  4. Why do you guys keep doing this? It is not helping my paranoia that you guys have voted in a bloc before this cycle I should hope it doesn't make the team less likely the entire point is that I can't easily see a world where we aren't on the same team ...Mat's weird mad vote notwithstanding
  5. I mean, if you have thoughts on Bookwyrm to share, I'll take it But your thoughts on other non-Bookwyrm players will likely be more interesting, yes, I would prefer if you did that
  6. I think last cycle might have been the opposite of a tie this cycle, on the other hand... it's not too late to try and create a tie this cycle I didn't know Tehlu was a member of the pantheon of Random Number Gods :eyes: Ok so Taking a peek at the relevant interactions involving Hael: C1 We have Matrim throwing a poke vote D1 and then retracting after Hael posted /shrug I dunno maybe its a little more likely that an elim would do this for distancing than a villager would just happen to poke an elim, but it isn't a really big indicator. Hael pokes Madagascar, which Matrim then doubles up on as the first intentional doubled up vote in the game, but then later switches onto Shining, which at the time wasn't very explained I don't think. Hael keeps the vote on Madagascar until cycle's end, unclear if Hael was actually online at a time when it would have made sense to change it, but if Hael was I don't think they posted. C2 Hael casts a vote for Xino, while explicitly citing disagreement with the Fifth train as a reason. Honestly, this makes me village read Fifth. I'm somewhat skeptical that Hael, who as Desann Reborn should want to survive and stay hidden for the evil win condition, would feel the need to overtly defend elim!Fifth that early on in the cycle. Particularly with the strength of eliminator vote manips in this game. If Fifth is a regular cultist, there would be no reason for a Dasann Reborn to stick their neck out like that. On the other hand, if Fifth is also a Dasann Reborn, it feels like distancing would be even more important in that case, most likely. Matrim votes for Xino Later in the cycle, Hael does a post tracking the movements of the votes so far, but does not actually provide commentary beyond stating the facts of what happened with the votes so far. The vote on Xino stays until the end of the cycle. JNV votes for Xino. I do not think using a vote manipulation from Silhouette to Xino makes sense before JNV's vote, and I think it is overwhelmingly likely that the Sith were responsible for the vote manipulation (RIP Silho), so the people who posted after this point are inherently a little bit more suspicious: JNV, Matrim, Kas, Hael, Fadran, Ashbringer, Me, Fifth, Mad, Wizard, Devotary, Bookwyrm, Wyrmhero ok so that's basically almost all of the players so maybe not that helpful Also, since Hael was one of those people, the vote manipulation could have been Hael's fault, in which case this list is even less helpful It depends on whether you think Hael was submitting the kills regularly or not. Trimming down the list to people I'd consider genuine suspects though: JNV, Matrim, Fadran, Ashbringer, Fifth, Mad, Wizard, Devotary, Bookwyrm. Matrim shifts from Xino to shining. Wizard votes Xino. Silhouette votes Xino. If we assume that the eliminator team was keeping their finger on the pulse of the votes enough to know that Silhouette was leading, then the vote manipulation only makes sense after Silhouette's vote. People who posted after that time are: Bookwyrm, Matrim, Fifth, Devotary. This was in the last 35ish minutes of the cycle, though, so an elim viewing the thread to inform their action decision but not posting in such a short timeframe is very conceivable. Again, not really as helpful as I wanted it to be If Xino was being pushed by other elims than Hael, I'd lean towards either JNV or Wizard, but that's a pretty big if. C3 Hael responds to a Ashbringer's query to explain the reasoning behind C2 votes. Nothing too crazy here, reads like a Sith wanting to head off any possible suspicion, although this doesn't necessarily tell us anything useful about Ash's alignment. Hael throws shade at Alvron without voting, which... is very nearly textbook distancing. Hael posts a vote analysis that again doesn't really do analysis, and then joins the Shining party. Nothing follows. Conclusions The connections between Matrim and Hael are weird. By sheer dint of the fact that Mat is probably the least distanced player from Hael out of everyone, with a lot of interactions between them on record, I am inclined to slightly village-read Matrim, but I'm also left more than a little paranoid. Alv, Wizard, and JNV are are a lil sus. At least one of these three reads is likely wrong, particularly seeing as Wizard is currently voting JNV. I guess I have a hard time seeing how an elim brazenly admits they were ignoring Shining's posts and now intend to look at them. Whereas, no offense to Fifth but that isn't necessarily very out of character for my profile of v!Fifth Vote Tally Alvron (2): Fifth Scholar, Madagascar Fifth Scholar (1): Devotary of Spontaneity JNV (1): Wizard the Myopic Wizard the Myopic (1): Bookwyrm the Perpetual ...I'm a little tempted to vote Alvron because he keeps on not voting plus he never actually answered my question on C1 but I think right now at least I'd rather spread the love JNV Independently of Hael or Shining or anything else, I am also just suspicious of Bookwyrm, but I don't really have a reasoning and I don't really know Bookwyrm's playstyle that well I'd be interested in hearing literally anyone else's thoughts on Bookwyrm
  7. It pleases me greatly to know that there is justice in this world. Although it does not please me quite so much as this does: Smh what Shining was saying was relevant regardless just for different reasons depending on what the flip was Well at least this reads like v!Fifth coming out of a tunnel and not something more nefarious Case in point one of Shining's last analysis posts cast suspicion on Alvron, and I do slightly trust Shining to have formed better analysis than I did last cycle about the likely conclusions that followed from village!Shining, bc the rest of us didn't have as much brainpower to spend on a hypothetical. Then again, you just voted for Alv, so maybe you're thinking along the same lines lines But before I grab a torch to go burn Alvron at the stake I'd like to go reread Hael's posts, which are arguably at least as important as rereading Shining's, and also there are a lot less of them so it it's much less effort I'm also sorry, but to be honest there were enough if-thens in my head depending on Shining's alignment that I don't know if I could have kept on going without a Shining flip I realize that isn't necessarily fair but then most exes aren't sadly
  8. yes but why no vote Oh Ye Of Little Faith Do you not trust the illustrious and ever chaotic Gods of Luck and Chance to lead you in the right direction? Entirely excessive IKYK-induced trolling is by far the most fun way to go out
  9. welp this is what I get for copy+pasting Kas' player list and then deleting the names of dead / people who voted from it, instead of typing the names out myself from nothing I would un-notify you but I don't think that's a thing
  10. Vote Tally Shining Silhouette (3): DrakeMarshall, Fifth Scholar, Fadran the [Redacted] Alvron (1): Madagascar @JNV @Ashbringer @Matrim's Dice @Devotary of Spontaneity @Haelbarde @The Wandering Wizard @The Bookwyrm @Fifth Scholar @Shining Silhouette @ookla the POKE VOTE @Alvron Are we really not voting this cycle? That is much the same thing as letting the eliminator team decide the outcome with vote manipulation, which most likely they literally did last cycle. Some of the people I pinged have weighed in on the vote discussion in one way or another, which is good, but I still think you should vote Shining, I appreciate your analysis and regardless of your alignment I think I like you as a player, but right now I'm keeping my vote on you.
  11. Well, that's good news. The stuff I said at the start of the game about the number of cultists not mattering that much and it being anywhere from 1-4 tbh? I take back taking it back it is relevant again
  12. Dr. Dacken Humtumb finally turned tail and ran for his life, panting heavily. It looked like the terentek would be the dark-tauntaun winner of the sabacc pot. Shame. Dacken had felt like he had a strong hand. It was a well-known fact that there was always a bigger fish, though. It was clearly time to fold. Where did the beast even come from? The thick carapace, powerful build, claws, and tusks... It certainly cut an imposing figure, especially covered in blood. Was it perhaps a native creature to the hostile environment of Korriban? Why had it killed poor Nodice?? Hopefully it didn't eat gizka. Hopefully it didn't eat Dacken Humtumbs either, for that matter. He slammed a door behind him to put something between himself and it, not that it was likely to slow the critter down much. "I don't suppose you talk?" Might as well double-check, in between gasping for breath and making an impromptu tactical retreat. The galaxy was full of all sorts. From the other side of the door, it sounded like the terentek was running, but not towards Dacken, which all things considered was extraordinarily lucky.
  13. It should most likely surprise absolutely no one that I particularly agree with the sentiment of the paragraph that includes "Drake's right" I get not having enough time to make the posts you want, but I also don't think it necessarily does Shining any favors that at least so far, they have spent their limited amount of time on multiple self-defense posts and zero posts focused on analysis of other players. I'm not 100% committed to a Shining train, since it is my habit to not be 100% committed to any train if the cycle hasn't actually ended yet. If there's somebody more suspicious, I'll vote for them, but I think I might have a slightly stronger elim!read on Shining than you do. I would like to take a moment to acknowledge that as per usual the small green drug-dealing alien is offering sage advice: Discussing the Shining train is great and all my personal preference is that it does get the most attention this cycle tbh but like we can multitask And besides, as of posting this only 4 people have weighed in and voted. I do not think this is the best state of affairs for the village, seeing as it means less to analyze and more room for vote manipulation. I aint gonna tell you how to vote, but please do learn from Mad's example and vote somehow My vote stays put, but what I can do for the sake of discussion is share a reads list. I have a well-established track record of sharing only super 100% serious reads lists in this game JNV - Neutral Ashbringer - Slight village Matrim - Slight village Devotary - Village Hael - GIZKA MURDERER *cough* I mean, Neutral Wizard - Slight elim Bookwyrm - Slight elim Fifth - Village Silhouette - Elim Madgascar - Slight village Fadran - Neutral Turtle - Village Alvron - Neutral
  14. I voted for Wizard because their Szeth vote felt like a list of all of the reasons that had previous come up, without a lot of evidence of effort spent assessing those reasons. I retracted from Wizard because they gave a villagery sounding defense. I voted for Silhouette because Matrim suggested it, I wasn't the biggest fan of the Fifth/Xino dichotomy and Silhouette had a vote on Fifth, and also because we had two trains spring up not long after Silhouette had attracted some votes and I wanted to gauge the pushback to putting Silhouette on the spot again. I retracted from Silhouette since nobody else was voting for them. I voted for Turtle mostly just to see if people would show willingness to vote Turtle, tbh. Apparently the answer was "no." This is a little weird in retrospect since Turtle was also an attack target. I voted for Silhouette when it became an option again, this time at Xino's solicitation. Good on ya mate *salutes* If you aren't an eliminator, posting good analysis is probably both the best way to still help the village and the best way to possibly convince that you aren't an eliminator
  15. So, I don't recall anyone clarifying that it was the elims who saved you You haven't really shown your work for assuming that. And it hasn't really been asserted in the thread, for it to be an idea that you picked up and repeated, either. Matrim said the opposite by calling attention to the fact that we can't know for sure, and Devotary said it was most likely the elims (which I'd tend to agree with) but was also careful about considering that it could have been the Jedi. Care to explain? You are also correct that I don't really love your vote of Fifth, and any credit you may or may not have gotten by being too suspicious to be suspicious evaporated when you self-awarely tried to draw my attention to the fact that you were being too suspicious to be suspicious ...even if we set those things aside, and take a step back like you said: The way I see it, we have an IKYK on our hands here. According to you, the main possibilities are that either you're an eliminator of some kind, or you're a normal villager being framed. In my mind, it is very possible that you are being framed. But if we don't have pretty good reasons to suggest you're being framed, if your alignment is anything close to being a 50/50 coin toss, then I am pretty sure it is strongly in the village's best interest to call the bluff and execute you. ...if only because of the simple calculus that there are less eliminators than villagers. A dead eliminator is a bigger deal than a dead villager. If we killed one villager for every Sith we killed, we would win in two cycles. So if the odds are 50/50 between your being framed and your being evil? I'll roll those dice any day. Another way to put it: a priori, the probability that I'd assign to any random player being an eliminator is somewhere in the ballpark of 25% at the start of the game. Maybe it's 30% now, because some villagers have died, raising the odds that a survivor is evil. So if you are 50% an eliminator, 50% a villager, that is still well above the average. Another way to put it: if the eliminators stopped you from dying, maybe there are complicated head games at work, but I think the simplest possible application of "if your enemy wants something you should keep them from getting it" is that the bad guys took action to keep you alive so we should do the opposite. All of this goes to say, reasonable doubt sadly isn't a good enough reason not to vote for you Unless you can make a case that "the eliminators are manipulating us into executing a villager" is actually significantly more likely than "the eliminators are trying to save eliminator!Silhouette", I'm afraid I will be voting for you, because even with very reasonable doubt, you are still the least bad vote. Feelsbad a little, I mean regardless of what team you're on it's a teeny bit of a drag to get voted up two turns in a row trolling the village makes it a much more rewarding experience in my experience but without further ado Shining Silhouette.
  16. Well, I am partial to absurdly long dead docs, so good on ya ...please don't take this the wrong way, but is there any reason we shouldn't just try killing you again?
  17. well On the bright side, you can say funny things in the thread now if u have nothing funny to share with the class then obviously the things u were going to say in the dead doc were jokes about u being evil!!! this is a joke
  18. bro this hurts i swear to Force colab is actually just built to troll everyone unlike google docs, it basically doesn't support simultaneous editing from different people and sometimes it just *decides* to stop running and kick you off and this is also equally true of colab pro /rant
  19. @Kasimir we appreciate u very much, go to sleep @Ookla the Debonair hi why aren't u dead
  20. I don't know how I feel about you soliciting this vote specifically from me, but you know what, sure. Shining Silhouette. Edit: It's a bit late (early? ) for me rn. I want to do the next RP installment in our Sabacc game but I also want to sleep rn........
  21. I don't feel like I really do right now, but thank you I don't think I could be offended in the slightest if I got executed for that reason For what it's worth, I'd say your alignment and Xino's aren't too closely entangled as far as I'm concerned. Maybe you and Xino are both pulling one over on all of us, but I feel like teammates don't usually go about defending each other that openly. See, I read this as village, but I also don't really want to vote for Fadran. I'd argue Fadran is one of the most understandable of the Fifth voters if anything. And Shining Silhouette doesn't seem like it's an exe either. Uhhhh. Hm. What about Idk what about Turtle what do you all have to say about that
  22. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! Vote Tally Fifth Scholar (4): Ashbringer, Silhouette the Debonair, Bookwyrm the Perpetual, Fadran the [Redacted] xinoehp512 (3): Haelbarde, Madagascar, Matrim the Tall Silhouette the Debonair (1): DrakeMarshall Haelbarde (1): Xino the Forgotten It's a gut feeling that also happens to have a lot of other votes on it, yes? Don't let anyone tell you when you can and can't play your new player card! I played my new player card pretty recently and my first game was apparently MR19 not that anybody paid any attention when I did If you want to play your new player card, I for one will accept it. Ok so I'm picking up a vibe that maybe nobody is really happy with the leading trains
  23. That is... INCORRECT!!!!!! I think what you mean to say is "not guilty"!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, innocent sounds better though. Why do people always speak in negatives? Why say "not guilty" when what you mean is "innocent tbh" it's totally unnecessary Your plea of "Innocent tbh" is valid and has been noted and recorded I will consider I could argue that, and in fact I have. The upshot is that nobody knows where all the trains are coming from I do think there's a substantive difference between the Silhouette train and the Fifth train, though. When a train happens out of nowhere, that's weird. When a train happens out of nowhere but right after a different train appeared, it's weird and additionally could be the eliminator team trying to protect a teammate. But maybe I'm digressing from your digression. Why are you voting for Fifth, then? Dr. Dacken Humtumb has always figured they were something you smoked, but in fairness you shouldn't necessarily take his word for it
  24. Sure, let's give it a whirl! Shining Silhouette yous stand accused of... I don't remember Probably something though Pretend I have something super clever to say here Oh, wait, I know You stand accused of the fact that there was a train on you earlier and once it happened a bunch of votes appear out of nowhere on Fifth and that's circumstantially a little bit weird Also your D1 voting choice makes it hard to read you How do you plea?????????????????
