  1. Well, I was right about some things, and wrong about others. I flipped some coins last turn, anyways. We’ll call it even, ok? Archer. I am not waiting on any clarifications from our terrible Game Masters, but for reference my action last cycle was “attack Kasimir” and I no longer have the card in my hand but it says I was roleblocked so... I don’t really want to know what that means. Maybe I drew two cards last cycle, and one of them was the same as the card I just used? Maybe Archer really did cardblock me for some reason? Maybe an eldritch portal in reality ate my card and spat it back out? Find out next time on Rothfuss Elimination!!
  2. I hope this game will have a lot more votecounts tbh
  3. The Cheater gets no second chances. If they get caught once, then that's it, they're run out of the game faster than you can say "abuse of authority." Last I checked, when a Cheater gets caught in the act for the first time, it won't say anything about it in the writeup. Bad thought, though. That would not have changed things.
  4. No, not at all clutch Today would be the same in every way if that had not happened. Nah, I don't think we should go through with solidifying this vote. Xino, I am not sorry that you are getting dropped in the game like this. Evil or good, you have it easy, taking up the reins from Fabien. I won't be willing to hear you out if you have anything to say about the current state of affairs. And I will do ~nothing~ to try to give us a fighting chance in case Archer is village. I think we have no good reason to vote Xino over Archer, anyway. Edit: @Lotus, I take it the vote and the NK happen concurrently in the order of actions?
  5. Nah, but in retrospect I don’t think there is any reason to wonder if it might be balanced in a role madness setup. Mind you, a single shardblade would not have made a big difference in this game, but so far both cheaters have drawn shardblades, so yeah. Bad point. Was TUO online to submit actions? I think not, and don’t correct me if I’m wrong. I am pretty sure Ashbringer knifed TUO for some other reason than that PoE on who could have submitted kills somewhat pointed to TUO. Hey @Archer did you draw that vote manipulation card at the beginning of this cycle?
  6. I think so. Last of all, I was roleblocked. But, wouldn’t a two of pens mean there are ultimately more votes in circulation when the dust clears? Depending on where the extra votes end up, it should be impossible to tell if a Two of Pens was used. Unless I am reading things correctly. Which is impossible. Oh. Well that clears up nothing. Would it be a terrible idea to flip some coins to decide on the action? Just the possibility of being protected is not worth anything much. If you would prefer to count on me blocking the recipient of today’s vote, then too bad I won’t help with that, but I will note that letting my action be uncertain doesn’t have any uses of its own. I am definitely not planning on taking the Two of Spears over the Two of Swords, in any case. Me? Fight Archer? I would never Hi! You are certainly getting dropped into the shallows for this game. Must be boring Nope you’re on your own tbh. Me and Kasimir are both pretty evil, see? Between you and Archer, I am of the opinion that removing you would do more damage to the village. Archer was just a bit suspicious, honestly. Not because of anything Kasimir has said or anything I noticed and should probably explain, just, because. Edit: Xino
  7. Better than my snowman making skills, but not possibly up to the task. Yeah, well don’t expect me to be willing to extend the same to you, mmkay? After last cycle you seem pretty sketchy. I should have known the pattern would turn on you smh. Noooo don’t join the dark side that would probably be boring and the opposite of chaotic. Ya know I’ve been doing the same stuff for outside of this game too so at least it’s been pretty easy to stay consistent Seems like a bad idea tbh. One thing I didn’t do was play a One of Pens last round, and so I can be sure Araris didn’t either. Right now I don’t have either of the Guards in my hand. Since I’m very sporting and not at all a Cheater, I definitely did not sneak [Two of Spears, Two of Spears, Two of Swords] off of the table. The evil team can make of all that what they won’t I’m going to vote right now because I haven’t just gotten home from a long drive and I’m not about to see some guests. Since I’m voting now, I definitely won’t vote later today. Tbh I probably won’t vote Xino but neither do I really want to hear what they have to say, seeing as they have been around for ages. If Xino is an eliminator they are certainly in an enviable position right now.
  8. Hey look the game is over. Tragic. Cards fell as the wouldn’t, I guess. I am pretty sure the elims didn’t even try to save Araris with a card.
  9. Hmmm so paranoid!Drake kinda doesn’t want to try switching to Archer, but realistically it’s much to early in the cycle to contemplate vote splitting anyway. Let the cards fall as they won’t.
  10. Boo no you are totally off target. As eager as I am to change my mind about this, I think there are lots of plausible reasons for an eliminator to go through the trouble of figuring out what I was getting at. Leaving things be would not suit the purposes of the eliminators very well. If elim!Kasimir is trying to protect against a potential Shardblade, well, we certainly can’t cross that bridge when we get to it, but one way or the other that would generally be something to hash out in the thread. Point is, I guess I can’t trust you for one cycle. Or at least, sussing you is likely to change things, right now. And I swear I am not the slightest bit grumpy about this state of affairs My snowman making skills are simply the worst there is. Just. The worst. Hmm this is terrible me no like. Another data point: I’m pretty sure you caught this but I wasn’t cardblocked last turn? Whoever did that must have committed the eliminator kill at the same time. This increases the suspect pool. Mind you, seeing as they already stepped forward for some reason, a priori I am a bit inclined to believe this person is both currently alive and village. I reckon neither alignment would have good reasons to cardblock me, but I kind of feel like a villager would be somewhat less likely to claim it by now, if they did. Anyways, you are wrong, I do have an alibi for last turn, since my card action succeeded. I don’t have any alibis for the first cycle, though. I am sure everyone will want to share what they were doing during the first cycle but doing a mechanical analysis of the first cycle is still probably impossible. ——— Anyways, I am not at all concerned that Araris isn’t actually making any sense with his reasoning tbh. You can probably expect that I won’t be online again before the end of the cycle. For now I wish you all a terrible night.
  11. Nah, this result sounds fake to me. Correct. Where do you think I got the Two of Guards from? It was within my abilities to choose that card and also obtain the Two of Pens. I-- Did-- Kas are you voting during a possible LyLo based on something you said was NAI?
  12. VC 3.1 robots are stealing all of our jobs Illwei how does it feel Araris Valerian (2): Ashbringer, DrakeMarshall DrakeMarshall (1): Archer Ashbringer (1): Kasimir So, typically this close to LyLo you expect a train that's on the right track to have basicaly no resistance. I'm honestly kind of bummed out that things are still basically up in the air. It is probably a poor use of my time to respond to these: ? ? ..? I.. I get it. Okay so here's some reasons why I'm a Voidbringer. I'm going to keep most of my information secret though because this cycle's discussion is kinda a throwaway tbh. You are correct, I was not ever in danger during C1, so a hypothetical eliminator team including myself never had any reason to do anything with the votes. I'm not a Cheater. And we all know that Cheaters are bad guys, or at least somebody gave sorta shoddy reasons for that C1. I am not biased at all but I thought they were terrible reasons. In order to belabor the point that I'm not a Cheater, and just generally to leave all of my actions as unaccounted for as possible, I will now refuse to elaborate in any way, since doing so would be pretty risky: On the first cycle I didn't use the One of Swords on Kasimir and consequently didn't learn he had a One of Pens. On the first cycle I didn't cheat in the Two of Swords (obviously I kept the Two of Swords, because I am good at reading the rules and knew how the Cheater rule worked and that it cost a card to use) and consequently didn't get a choice of [One of Spears, Two of Guards, Two of Pens] for next cycle. On the second cycle I didn't draw the One of Spears and consequently I definitely didn't try to cheat with that card. On the second cycle I didn't plan to whip out [Two of Pens] at the last second and try to vote switch + vote manipulate in order to hammer Araris, because moving slowly and deliberately is important in this game and you may not know it but I am a very risk-averse player This plan could have worked, though, because Araris had votes on them just before rollover, and nobody else had a clear lead as far as votes were concerned. So I definitely didn't change my mind and play [Two of Guards] to attempt to protect you, Archer. Fortunately, I wasn't roleblocked or anything. (From what y'alls are saying it sounds like I am probably correct about this, but also doesn't a roleblock stop the night kill?) As for what cards I have right now, well, good news I will definitely tell you that right now I don't really understand feeling wary about an Araris vote (it had too much opposition before you switched tbh), but.. Do you have a reason for the new vote, other than that [Drake, Ashbringer, Fabien] is one reasonable elim team configuration that you can conceive of? Tbh if you think [Drake, Ashrbinger, Fabien] isn't a team, then could you vote for one of those other guys? Ashbringer doesn't even have any votes on them already, they are a much worse choice than I am There are tons of other people I could be teammates with by my reckoning, and I seriously would have a bunch of complaints with you if you voted up one of those 2 guys in particular. If you think this is a bluff, please don't call it. Yeah, that pretty much would be my style I hate letting other people put in the actual kill order, but I could care less if I had any sort of input in the actual decision making process beforehand. Tbh the main hallmark with me is probably that I am very restrained when it comes to making control kills and the like Overall, none of the NK choices actually fit my playstyle very well, imo, and exactly for the reasons you said. I largely disagree with how the NK has been used in this game, in principle. The only thing I might agree with is that I probably would be pretty happy to attack Matrim early in a game a second time in a row without a solid reason to do that. Take that however you won't.
  13. So Archer and Kasimir are on totaly different pages. That's not a good sign, probably? I can't really see an Araris, Fabien, Ashbringer team. I also still can't see an Araris, Kasimir team. Way I see it, both of those options are off the table, so Araris is probably the worst possible vote for me right now. I think Archer and TUO are both *probably* voidbringers.
  14. Well, this is good. Yo Araris (@Araris Valerian) are you a Voidbinger? Also @Ashbringer where you at?
  15. Anyways: Kasimir Striker. I wasn't particularly wondering if Kasimir would break the tie when I saw them online around now, and this is not an acceptable outcome to me for this vote.
  16. Only dead people have unknown alignments, it is quite easy to tell the alignment of living people. That is how I know for sure Matrim is evil. Smh you should have asked me about this some more before going and reading the writeups Tbh I feel like the elims are less likely than most to know who their team is targeting, so I figure you are probably a voidbringer like Matrim. If this explanation is confusing, well, I'm not sorry I am being very honest in this game like my name says. So here's somethig I'm not particularly curious about. I'm sure you remember, but that person that TUO voted for and then retracted was somebody other than me. Your reasoning seems to be that village!TUO wasn't afraid of being called out on a shoddy vote, so they held their ground when other people pushed back against it. But if that were true, then TUO and myself really have to be E/E. Seeing as TUO and me aren't really your top two suspicions right now, does this concern you? Also, is there a large amount of analysis that you would do on my posts if I flipped that you aren't doing right now?
  17. Just so everyone is in the dark about this, I think TUO is fairly likely to be evil. I have never brought this up before, but none of the people who put TUO up for the vote in the first place were the ones who shifted it to other people. This means other people were probably stepping in and trying to save TUO. In the version of events where TUO is village, that means the other villagers voted them up and then shifted the vote like an hour or two later. Why would that be a thing? It wouldn't even in theory make sense as a distancing practice, even if people frequently pull together weird shenanigans like that on D1. Edt: the only person who might be argued doesn't fit the mold of distancing from TUO with their vote is Matrim. And we know Matrim is a voidbringer.
  18. Yeah, I am voting for the person I least suspect. I want my faction to lose People never seem to think that thugs are just players that take two cycles to kill, and that players will inevitably follow up one kill with another right after. And that is actually frequently true. I have seen it be true in a lot of games tbh. So the arguments that the captain’s alignment is confirmed based on that seem like a safe bet, to me. And I feel that Kasimir in particular has been acting trustworthy. But I defnitely don’t plan on thinking about this any more. For reference, I would also be opposed to voting up either Araris or Striker right now, and I have tons of good reasons to feel this way.
  19. Boo, I don't appreciate that you would put your vote where your mouth is >:P But it sounds like you think that I'm actualy suspicious of you. I'm not. I'm trying to throw my vote away, like I said.
  20. When you say "voting for me again and again" this is basically evidence that you genuinely believe my vote could succeed. Are your own reactions irrelevant? I have a shardblade of my own, but I don't really feel like doing anything for myself, so I am going to leave everything up to any other people out there who might have shardblades, and throw away my vote. You are saying the train on you is a difficult train but also acting like it has every chance of succeeding in practice. I'm pleased to say that's a green flag in my eyes, and in any case you can have it both ways. TUO was being basically inactive on C1 of this game. To put it indirectly, I care a lot about what TUO has done in other games, they should be judged by that and not by what they are doing in this game. I think the train on TUO probably wasn't sort of shoddy. This is also very much a different situation to when I was sussing Ashbringer that one time in LG77. The reasoning that was given to vote for TUO is reasoning that would not have worked for anyone else, and it was one of many reasons, which makes me confident that there isn't a pretense or any hidden reasons behind the votes.
  21. Voting on you constantly was very much what I had in mind and I hope that is what came across. I was going to vote for you, but unrelated to what you are saying right here, I think I won't. You have no choice about how you can read that tbh. Kasimir. Cowardly of you to assume that my votes would never succeed tbh. Somebody have a card up their sleeve? Considering that I have never ever before claimed to be an eliminator while actually being an eliminator, I am also not remotely curious to know why you immediately jumped to the conclusion that I was telling the truth about that. Yeah what I'm saying is that I feel like it's not shaky to vote somebody up based on their track record, even when they are not curently playing into that track record, but probably might later on. So I kinda agree that TUO was a good inactivity vote. I don't see. I am in principle opposed to this.
  22. No boo you are completly on the wrong track. Dummy. My condolences. If you need clarifications to anything I said then too bad I won't give them. So, I pretty much don't want you to be involved in a tie ever. I don't really have a good reason for this and if I did I wouldn't tell you. Thing is, you are exactly like a thug. There are no differences. You can survive a night kill but you can't survive a vote. I am pleased to say that this means your ability has tons of real utility for the village. But very little for the elims. I am absolutely saying that this means you are an elim, because that would be a pretty smart thing to say for me. However, even though I know for sure your alignment, what I don't know is whether your ability is more likely to be a liability than an asset for my team. I am definitely being very fair about this, and I'm not sorry if you don't like how I'm approaching this, but the loss of your ability would not be a huge loss on the side of the Voidbringers, whereas it might be pretty important for the Knights Radiant. If you seemed like a Knight Radiant somewhere down the road, in a game with so few people, an extra cycle wouldn't change anything. In most games it would be easy to remove your extra life but in this one ties only affect one person so it isn't as doable. I think it's way better to trust in who gets what special role than to trust in analysis done by villagers, I think your role is probably confirmed village and tbh I kinda like that you were the one to point that out, and it would really make my paranoia worse if your ability were taken off of the board. I've definitely got all the answers, but do you disagree with what I'm saying here? I genuinely think what I am doing is much more likely to harm the village. Unlike with Archer, if you need clarifications to anything I said, then too bad I won't give them. TUO has a track record of being active later on in the game but I think they were definitely the most inactive player during the first cycle. I am inclined to trust this vote a bit. Also, ties pretty much exist to not be broken, no? The point is not that any of several people could die and need to do something about it, the goal of a tie is for everyone to die. I thought we were on very different pages about this. Slight elim read for this, I think. I am not amused. This vote is boring. I kinda trusted Elandera tbh, so this result is unsurprising. Matrim is a pretty boring choice for the kill. As in Opal Lion? I disagree. Also, it really looked a lot like third parties were stepping in and trying to save TUO, and not like people who voted for TUO changed their minds.
  23. Do you guys really want Not Voting to die that badly?
  24. TUO has not bee online recently, but they did make a post, so I am pretty sure I know what to make of this.
