Nah, I wasn't offended or anything - I just hoped y'all would understand why he has her in the book. (I have a tendency to show peopole the other sides to things often)

Here is a things I think may be important to understand: while, in reality no one can draw, use stormlight, and turn themselves into different people, some people do something similar in their life. I can relate to Shallan because, I , no matter how much it hurts changing, end up almost "becoming" a different person, depending on who I'm talking to. At one point I found it so difficult to be myself around anyone including those who have known me my whole life. And honestly, one of the best ways that I could be with people and still be as close to being myself as possible, I make jokes. Aweful ones. I'm not so good at humor, but I make some people laugh occasionally, and I sure found Shallan's jokes hilarious. If you don't find her jokes funny, that's fine, you probably just don't have the same sense of humor. I understand that you may feel she's written crappily, but understand that she is more real to some people than others. That is what is fun about having a diverse cast of character like in SA. None are catered to be likeable for everyone, and any characters I hate you may love and vice versa, and that is one of the joys of reading these books, and talking to others in the community.

The Art of Baking: All new Hemalurgy Free Bakery
CarolaDavar replied to Quickbronze's topic in The Alleyverse
Carola looks around, slowing her chewing of cake, "How long do those inspections take, anyway?" -
Oh! Okay, thank you for the information. I hadn't been aware.

Well, we aren't entirely sure the Beyond isn't the Spiritual Realm As far as I can tell, Dalinar did something that made him access Honor's power, and that was how he made the Perpendicularity, Odium said, "no, we killed you!" Meaning him(and someone else) shattered Honor, and maybe Dalinar saying "I am Unity" was basically just him renaming the shard

Has Sanderson influenced you?
CarolaDavar replied to A Dopey Spren's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Well I am close to being 20 chapters through, but I recently learn some new things and I am probably going to restart because I know how to write it faster - and ultimately better. And yeah, this community is wonderful I really hope I can eventually do something similar(but I doubt it) -
Has Sanderson influenced you?
CarolaDavar replied to A Dopey Spren's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Personally, Sanderson inspired me to write - and with real effort. Also, he(along with Shallan) inspired me to learn to draw well, and I am now increasing my abilities at a steady pace. Also, along another kind of thing, his books have inspired me to never underestimate people -
I went to the release! It was a ton of fun, and I wish I had remembered to look on here before I went so I could look for you guys. But, anyways, I was dressed as Shallan and you may have seen me there. What I asked Brandon, wasn't a necessarily a cosmere related one, but it was a fun one Q: Do you ever a hard time switching between one world and another when answering questions for a signing? A(paraphrased): Definitely
-
A bits late to this party, but I wanted to say I went as Shallan for halloween! It was great because the costume was made in perfect time to wear to the Oathbringer release
-
Oh storms, Gawx has dark skin? Oh, I guess I didn't realize that either Also, it mentions the Shallan often wears her hair in a bunch of braids. But I can only ever imagine her with free flowing hair. Also no matter how many times Kaladin has a beard, I can never picture that either. I generally just forget

[OB] [Elantris] Did Hoid use Sel Magic?
CarolaDavar replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
Hoids hair is naturally white, and I believe it is a Yolish thing, but i think it's kind of like our world, where not everyone has the same color hair. So it could makes sense that Ati, Hoid, Rayse, and Tanavast would have different colored hair -
When you get to read Stormlight for a class
CarolaDavar replied to Devout Pathian's topic in Stormlight Archive

The Art of Baking: All new Hemalurgy Free Bakery

Controversial Opinions
CarolaDavar replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Finally!! For a while I thought I was the only one I agree. Ack, I read Percy Jackson, and all my friend were sure I would love it, but I just. . . Didn't. I haven't finished the Inheritance Cycle yet. But I have been reading rather fast and loving it. Also, yes. Shallan is great. Being somewhat of a redhead artist myself, I also sympathized well with her Yyuuusss! All the SA villains were so well crafted! Even Sadeas, though I hated him a ton. I agree on the Winter Soldier. It was so hyped and I didn't enjoy it much. Finding Nemo I mainly enjoyed because I grew up on it Stormlight: Personally I loved Shallan and Kaladin, but I do agree on the Dalinar, Szeth, and Taravangian side. I actually read SA specifically because Szeth and Dalinar interested me a ton. I agree Lift's interlude wasn't as interesting as Rysn's, but I do say I love Edgedancer. I don't think I could say one or the other is better. I honestly enjoy seeing how each character uses the magic, and how it effects them. Mistborn: Oh yeah. While I do enjoy Wayne, I kind of had to drag myself through the 2nd trilogy. Hopefully my reread will be a bit different, but I don't really see a reason for it to be that way. General: I haven't read Warbreaker yet, so I can't give much of an oppinion, but I did love Elantris a ton. Other: I actually enjoyed those two more than some of the other Marvel movies I've seen, so I'm suprised at how many people kinda hated them -
Generally, to me, Marvel makes better movies, and DC make better TV shows

Special Oathbringer Dust Jacket Giveaway
CarolaDavar commented on Chaos's article in Events, Signings, & Giveaways
I would love to have this! I'm here to enter -
"I got bookies!" Carola yells, running through the room, "I tried to back an Oathbringer batch, but it got spoiled. So, alas, this batch may have a Sadeas bookie somewhere." She proffers the tray to the newcomers, "take one! They're great!"

I generally use a book mark. However, I actually use sticky notes. They are nice because they stick to the page(so they don't just fall out),. If I don't have one of those I generally use whatever other paper. If there is no paper, then I just memorize my page number(I would never purposefully bend the page of a book, for any reason.)

Controversial Opinions
CarolaDavar replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I don't like Harry Potter, at all. It just, doesn't interest me and seems waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too over hyped -
I generally like to outline, though I give myself lots of room, and will generally change, add to or adjust my outline as I am writing
-
I hope I can do it. I wasn't able to last year, simply because I couldn't write fast, but I have really been able to build up my speed
