  1. No, we haven't. Holy grottos, that is all that was mentioned. It never says anything about crystals.
  2. There are 89 chapters plus the prologue, epilogue, and 14 interludes. The Michael/Kate breakdown included things like Kate reading all of Navani's journal entries even when the chapter is Michael's.
  3. ChocolateRob was making a hilarious joke.
  4. Definitely all three. There are certain chapters in the book I'd love to hear your reactions to. But doing that for the whole book would be ludicrous, haha.
  5. Feather, you are going to love Adolin in this book. And nice meltdown there after chapter 12. That was totally worth it.
  6. Huh. There does seem to be some personality alignment there, but it's certainly not perfect.
  7. I wanted Eshonai last because it feels better to me as the final preview chapter.
  8. When something has not been canonized in print, Brandon often wants to avoid a definitive answer in case something has a good reason to change in the next book.
  9. I don't know for sure, but I think that reviews will be embargoed until the release date, with a couple of specific spoiler-free exceptions.
  10. On this particular question, I am certain he answered it very carefully.
  11. The timestamps are imprecise on purpose. If it says "X years ago" that is generally accurate to within 25% of a year. Same goes for "X and a half years ago." If it says "X months ago" that would be generally accurate to within 50% of a month. Kaladin's sense of the passage of time also gets screwed up as a bridgeman.
  12. At one point someone asked Brandon who he would want to finish his books in the event of his untimely death, and he said Daniel Abraham. I don't know if that has changed, but of course Brandon is planning to stay alive.
  13. 1 Rosharan year does equal 1 revolution around Roshar's sun. This can be determined on Roshar by using astronomy.
  14. That doesn't mean it is not technically wrong. It is technically wrong. At some point starting around 4500 years ago, after the Heralds told them they had won, people did use the EoS calendar counting from the date of Aharietiam. Around 1173 years ago, they stopped using the EoS calendar, at least in the East. The EoS calendar may still be in use some places in Roshar.
  15. Now that's more like it. I look forward to what you can figure out of the book 2 timeline.
  16. It is possible to calculate the month number of Kaladin's arrival at the Plains by combining specific information found in 3 chapters.
  17. I don't remember. Sorry! But the report is fine. It's Adam Baldwin rather than Alec Baldwin. Also, Hinderstap is foreshadowed in chapter 1 of Lord of Chaos.
  18. Hmm. Is anything close to 1173? The only other date I remember is on the Alloy of Law broadsheet.
  19. Occasionally a woman might have a reason to be wearing a glove under the safehand sleeve. Whether Shallan might ever have such a reason in book 2, you will have to find out.
  20. Hasn't been revealed. Is there any need? Just say the year is 1173. The only date that conflicts with that is from Dalinar's vision where a Knight Radiant says, “It is Eighth Epoch, three thirty-seven.” Though, I think it's safe for me to reveal that the Horneaters use a different year number. How the number differs is not yet specified.
  21. De-spoilering because it is not important. "I've been 10 for a week now" (I am 10) "I've been 10 for a year now" (I am 11) "I've been 10 for two years now" (I am 12) "I've been 10 for three years now" (I am 13)
  22. No, it is not in sync with that. I have exact days for everything in Words of Radiance, and they should be much easier for everyone to figure out themselves than the dates in Way of Kings are, for various reasons. There are also specific reasons from the timeline of the first book that this assertion: "Kaladin arrives on the Shattered Plains near the end of month 4/beginning of month 5, 1173" cannot possibly be correct. Navani and Dalinar are not 50 years old. And by the way it's book 1 that says "Navani was only three months his senior", in chapter 22. Adolin is not 24 years old. Chapter 12 in the first book says how old he is. The Era of Solitude started 4500 years ago. So applying "EoS" to the current calendar is not correct.
  23. Navani is 3 months older than Dalinar. Shallan is 17 at the end of the first book. Kaladin is actually 20 by the end of the the first book, but he forgot his birthday. A Roshar year is 1.1 Earth years.
