I really hope Brandon is faking us out on the whole creepy Renarin thing. I can definitely see him being restricted on what he can or can't say as a way of staving off ostensibly manipulating events with what is effectively insider trading in future knowledge. Everything about the Kaladin chapter was freakin perfect. Loved the Radiant reveal. Also I'm thinking the in-world Oathbringer author is looking more and more like either Dalinar or Jasnah.

Yeah first couple paragraphs of chapter 1 felt a tiny bit off to me. Other than that it's been business as usual.

I'm really getting the Jasnah vibe for the author of in-world Oathbringer, partially as a gut reaction to her also gracing the cover in a big battle. Brandon of course could pull the rug out from under me and prove me wrong but that's the vibe I'm getting.

I'm still convinced that Hoid is using a form of feruchemy or something similar that was around pre-shattering and we're going to find out of all the metallic arts, feruchemy was around before Ruin and Preservation created the planet.

Time for some brain candy: Blooms are 3-D printed sculptures designed to animate when spun under a strobe light. Unlike a 3D zoetrope, which animates a sequence of small changes to objects, a bloom animates as a single self-contained sculpture. The bloom’s animation effect is achieved by progressive rotations of the golden ratio, phi (ϕ), the same ratio that nature employs to generate the spiral patterns we see in pinecones and sunflowers. The rotational speed and strobe rate of the bloom are synchronized so that one flash occurs every time the bloom turns 137.5º (the angular version of phi).

I suppose that's a good way to get around it. Should be interesting to see where Brandon goes with this.

Not to be a stickler for these things, but you can be a creationist and not come at it from a Young Earth perspective. There are plenty of Christians who believe most of what science proves about the age of the earth and natural history but just disagree with the theory of evolution as it stands and see the hand of God in all speciation events. Just sayin'.

One problem I see in this: How do you account for the Shards that are not currently held by a Vessel such as the Dor, which is a combination of two Shards' powers and resides in the Cognitive Realm? It appears to be too powerful and unstable for anyone to really have a good shot of taking it up...

As someone who has worked in this field for ten years I have more of these than I can shake a stick at. Yeah not to mention the original comic was literally a reader vote on whether Jason died or not. Since the readers hated him, he had to die. Weird gimmicky way to tell your story.
