Random Stuff X: Something Weird
The Invested Beard replied to marsoupial's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I wish I could have had an informant from the future when the last season of Lost started so I could quit while I was ahead. -

[OB] Questions about Dalinar's Visions
The Invested Beard replied to Humpty's topic in Stormlight Archive
Think Star Trek holodeck with Cosmere mechanics. -
The Avatars of Shards
The Invested Beard replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Cosmere Discussion
There is probably some shardic ability to see and understand other worlds with your awareness, yet not physically be there with your avatar. That's what I'm guessing at least. -
Dragonsteel chapter(s)
The Invested Beard replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Curiosities & Unpublished Works
I've never hated the word REDACTED so much in my life. On another note, has anyone else noticed that Yolen actually seems like the name of the country or continent, not the entire planet? We've either been thinking wrongly about this the whole time or it's changed to mean the whole planet since BS wrote this. I'm trying to remember if we've ever had any canon references to the planet Yolen. -
Elantris Movie Casting
The Invested Beard replied to Nathrangking's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
I'd say Djimon Hounsou for Galadon. -
Most Wanted Oathbringer Scene
The Invested Beard replied to MistbornAlpaca's topic in Stormlight Archive
The answer is always Hoid. Always. -
Aimians and the Nightwatcher
The Invested Beard replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
So we now know what the Dysian Aimians are and it doesn't appear their variation is from a boon/curse from NW. Does our new knowledge add to or change anything about this theory? Probably not, but I could be wrong.- 17 replies

This is definitely one of the reasons I like Elantris so much. Just because we don't understand it right now doesn't mean there isn't TONS of cosmere important stuff going on here. Plus it is one of the earliest chronological cosmere stories so there are some interesting implications as to things like Hoid's appearance there (especially in the 10th anniversary edition).

Elantris is a great book I'm with you. I don't know if I really can have a favorite Cosmere book. They all sit on a level playing field for me.

I like it. All the pieces seem to fit. I'm quite curious as to the mechanism the Everstorm utilizes to make this repair.

The Avatars of Shards
The Invested Beard replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Well, we've seen Sazed do this, but limited to the Scadrial area. I'm not sure vessels are able to move around like that unless they aren't Invested in a planet or system. -

The Invested Beard replied to Goatbringer's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm still hoping for Vivenna to show up someday. I know we may be waiting a while but I'm patient...relatively.- 12 replies

[OB] Ialai and Sadeas were deeply in love
The Invested Beard replied to Michael Portz's topic in Stormlight Archive
Technically I'm not directly comparing Sadeas to Hitler, just showing how love, uh...finds a way. -

Even Hitler had a girlfriend. -
[OB] Scenes you wish to see in Oathbringer
The Invested Beard replied to Wax's topic in Stormlight Archive
The more I think about it, the more I really can't wait to see what happens when Nale meets Dalinar and the crazy exposition that may occur at that time. I mean Dalinar's gonna have a lot of questions and the SF isn't too forthcoming at this point... -
What Are You Reading, Part 2
The Invested Beard replied to Chaos's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I'm currently attempting to finish The Witchwood Crown by Tad Williams. I say attempting because for whatever reason it is really failing to capture me like the original trilogy did. I'm really sad about this as it is one of my favorite fantasy series ever. I'm trying to give it the benefit of the doubt until the end before I say it's not so good but we'll see. I'm surprised as everything Tad's ever written I liked. -
Time to necro my own thread! yay! So since last being around, my brother and I have made some real headway on our Beatles album. We now have ten songs done and you can check them all out here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7UnyohxddSNd2FmYktQVXNIVzA?usp=sharing Have a listen, let me know what you think. We only have about 5 songs left to record. Once we're done we plan on just giving it away to people so let me know if you want a copy.

[OB] Urithiru and Everstorm - why not twice?
The Invested Beard replied to Wax's topic in Stormlight Archive
It's okay I do too. -
[OB] Urithiru and Everstorm - why not twice?
The Invested Beard replied to Wax's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm thinking they'll definitely get more powerful. Plus we haven't even run across a Thunderclast yet. If the Knights Radiant of old found the desolations challenging in their day, you can bet there's stuff we haven't seen yet that will even the playing field.
