Your addition to the Cosmere
Toaster Retribution replied to Kered's topic in General Brandon Discussion
It would be fun to put Powder Mages on Scadrial. -
[OB] Why is Axies not in Shadesmar?
Toaster Retribution replied to Nashan’Elin's topic in Stormlight Archive
The biggest question about Axies right now is why he hasn't gone to Urithiru yet? Seems like the place to be if you want to study spren. -
Kalak is most likely the guy hanging out with Nale on Gavilars party. I think he is seen in both Szeth and Jasnahs prologues. Jezrien was seen in Szeths prologue, and then again in one of Dalinars flashback chapters. I personally found Jezriens death pretty cool. It was a shocker, and set up a bunch of big questions. It also felt like a real loss, despite the fact that we never knew Jezrien at all.

[OB] THE INDESTRUCTABLE BRIDGE 4
Toaster Retribution replied to Blackace's topic in Stormlight Archive
Its a fun idea. If Bridge Four ever lose the bridge, I think it will be a major moment. -
Most epic deaths in fantasy fiction?
Toaster Retribution replied to Zmaray's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I so wish that Harry Potter spoiler Hadn't died. I get and accept all the others, but that one still hurts. -
@Nathrangking Storms, you aren't supposed to tell everyone that I'm a top secret hemalurgic awakened cylon spy. You and @Calderis makes the secret spying deal really hard... I feel like I might be partly to blame for this (along with Nathrangking) and I'm pretty proud over that fact. EDIT: Btw guys, Slothquisitors sounds kinda cool. If you wanted naming suggestions.

Things that could happen during the timeskip: -Someone conquers Tu Bayla. -Shallan gets pregnant/gives birth to a baby. -More Radiants appear at Urithiru (almost a guarantee). -Different people learn their surges a bit better. -Kaladins family moves to Urithiru. -Taln snaps out of his madness. -Mraize takes a vacation.

[OB] Endowment and the 17th Shard
Toaster Retribution replied to ILuvHats's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't think it is very likely, mostly because I don't like the idea of a Shard being behind 17th Shard. I don't think that the 17th Shard would go against Endowments principles though. They are observants, and doesn't actually interfere, other than to stop Hoid, which Endowment probably would accept. -
Isn't every Moash thread basically a Moash hate thread now? I guess its good to have an official thread though.

The Reckoners should have been adapted long ago. The YA-craze and the superhero-craze really should have added up to a movie being made. Those books would be relatively easy to adapt as well. The Cosmere is different. I'm with the OP on Kingkiller being overrated, but I look forward to the movie. I would like someone to do a Cosmere movie as well though.

Am I the only one who doesn´t really feel that the Parshendi are engaging as characters? Eshonai wasn´t very fun, and Venli is not that much better, in my opinion. And otherwise, we don´t really have any major ones. I guess Lewishi could count, but she is mostly a plot-device right now. Anyone who likes the Parshendi characters? And do you think we will get more potentially interesting singers as important characters in future books?

@Calderis Storms, you still see through my disguise? You guys aren't supposed to know...

1. Provide a picture: it should be somewhere in the post. Dunno where. EDIT: Ah, it's at the bottom of the post. 2. Alexander 3. Probably Words of Radiance. A Storm of Swords by GRRM should have a mention as well. 4. I am posting pretty frequently, so there's that I guess. I joke around as well. But the major thing is probably my username. 5. I lurked here for some time, and then I created an account in order to make thread I found interesting. I liked the place, so I stayed. 6. Right now, I haven't been on very much, but in some periods I'm pretty sure I can be on here for hours. I wish I could make a speed-bubble. 7. Hmm... I have had lots of fun joking or interacting with different community members, so there are loads of fond memories. Can't pick just one! I was kind of happy to see how many liked a recent Amaram post I made though. I had been trying to explain him for months, and it seemed like that post finally managed to show how I saw him. 8. Worldbuilding and characters. He is the greatest worldbuilder in fantasy. Stormlight alone contains more cool ideas than most things, and if you add the entire Cosmere to that... wow. Characters are excellent as well. Kelsier, Dalinar, Hrathen, Amaram, Vin... too much awesomeness. 9. Work on? He rushes through stuff sometimes, such as the entire ending of Calamity or Amarams character arc in OB. He might want to work a bit with that. Sometimes I feel like he is focusing on the wrong things as well, but that is probably highly subjective. 10. Sadea... Elend I mean. Elend. I'm nerdy, I read books, I like to irritate people for fun. 11. Tried to think of something awesome to put here, but I couldn't come up with anything, so I'll just tell you all to be kind toward your toasters.

Welcome! Hope you enjoy it around here, and enjoy the remaining Brandon books! Avoid spoilers, which means that you should be very careful in the boards relating to the stuff you haven’t read yet.

I’ll do one as soon as possible then. I’m away for the weekend so I’ll get to it as soon as I get back.

[OB] Elhokar appreciation thread
Toaster Retribution replied to ICanDream's topic in Stormlight Archive
As someone who liked Elhokar from the start, I was sad to see him go, and the scene where he (and Sah, Noro and Beard) died was probably the best scene in OB, and one of the best Sanderson scenes too. I love how he held on to that drawing. That said, I am glad that he died, precisely because it was so powerful a moment. Just like a lot of other memorable character deaths in other stories, the story would be lesser without the death. Rest in peace Elhokar, King of Alethkar! And may Moash forever have an unbearable pain in his left pinky toe as a punishment for what he did. -
[OB] Chance to get a WoB (closed)
Toaster Retribution replied to Hoiditthroughthegrapevine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yeah, that´s my job. Just kidding. Anyway, a question I would be interested in learning the answer too would what Hoid thinks of the merging of Ruin and Preservation. -
So... should I go ahead and do one, or wait for something more to happen...?

[OB] Adolin, a potential Edgedancer?
Toaster Retribution replied to BasementDwellingRadiant's topic in Stormlight Archive
I like that we have gotten to a point where it´s theorized that Adolin could become the human counterpart to Nightblood. -
If Nale is going to keep on having an antagonistic role, I hope he gets to be a well-developed villain like Taravangian or Sadeas, and not get ditched in the same way as Amaram was. He is far too cool a character to be consumed by Yelig-nar or something like that.

Thought Dalinar had enough crazy Radiants with Lift and Lopen, but if Victor Crem joins up, he´ll have more than that. Furthermore, I think Victor might be an environmental disaster if he keeps on firing crem from his body. He´dd crem down everything, and be a pain for the cleaning staff in Urithiru :-)

This... would actually work.
