  1. I don’t think the new Dustbringers will join Odium for revenge. I doubt all of them are like Spark and Malata. And honestly, the logic makes sense from Sparks POV. The humans killed and betrayed his kind. Why not kill them back? And yeah the evil dwarves in Inheritance was not that great, but they also had pretty poor development. I hope Spark will be developed better.
  2. I don’t think Spark is of Odium, or has been corrupted. I think Spark wants exactly what Malata says he wants: revenge. As for the OP, I think that the ”we don’t trust ourselves anymore” thing might apply to Malata. She joined the Diagram at first, and then seems to take orders from her spren. So yeah, she might think that she can’t make good decisions on her own for some reason.
  3. Agreed. Which is why I (before learning more about Stormlight lore) thought Windrunners would lead the KR. But I don’t think Ishar needs to be guiding anymore.
  4. I have seen speculation that Ishar might be aligned with Odium recently. I think this is wrong, for a number of reasons. Ishar sides with Ishar, and no one else. Look here: First, there is the ”main Ishar WoB” (a really, really useful WoB) which I have spoilered for lenght. Bolded parts are by me. Here we have proof that Ishar has a very wierd psychology. We can only guess at exactly what makes it wierd, but he is very insane. I would guess the most insane of all, considering that he was once the wisest one. We also know that he is trying to convince himself of things that he knows isn’t true (in this case, that killing Radiants will stop the Desolation), and that he is preparing for the Desolation. And then we have his letter in Oathbringer, which he sends to Dalinar as Tezim. He calls himself Herald of Heralds and bearer of the Oathpact. The last one is interesting, because it implies that he knows that the Oathpact never broke, and that he thinks that he is holding it together. The fact that he wants to hold it together tells us that he is in opposition of Odium. Furthermore, his rhetoric is so grand and so full of self-admiration that I find it hard to see him bowing for anyone. He basically considers himself a god at this point, and thus won’t bow for neither Odium or Dalinar Kholin. Finally, we have the Stormfathers opinion on him. According to Stormy, Ishar names himself a god, and seeks his own death, and perhaps that of every man. That isn’t Dalinars or Odiums objective. Dalinar wants to beat Odium and Odium wants to get off Roshar (and probably kill Cultivation as well). Ishars goal doesn’t seem to fully align with either one. So I think that given Ishars belief in his own divinity, and his wierd goal, he is on his own side in the war.
  5. I feel like Malata is pretty obedient to one thing: her spren. It almost seems like she is doing Sparks bidding, not her own or even Taravangians.
  6. It is an interesting idea, but I think the weakest part is the Unmade connection. There isn’t much proof for that. I agree that it is wierd that Odium wants Elhokars Cryptic though.
  7. He could say: ”Piss off, Voidbringer!” as well.
  8. I think your Truthwatcher idea is more compatible with the Windrunners, at least in how its constructed. It might be something that has to do with helping (Stump and Ym were also helping, so it is defenitely a trait for them). As for the Windrunners, it might be something in the style of ”I can’t protect everyone.” Sounds like a sad oath perhaps, but I think that the early Windrunner oaths puts a lot of pressure on the poor guys. They need to chill a bit.
  9. He might be protected by the crazy Herdazian general then, who I assume will come into play at some point. I don’t think he is dead anyway, that would have been mentioned if it was the case. So he is probably alive.
  10. Also, Taika Waititi would be a great Beard. And Taika should be in everything, so he has to be in Stormlight as well. I think Tom Glynn-Carney could make a great Renarin.
  11. Sorry! Uh... which couple is the most underrated one?
  12. I prefer the dragon idea for Mraize to be honest, even though Dysian is possible. Good catch with Timbre though, its entirely possible.
  13. Roshar is wierd. Go green. Seriously though, darker blue seems neat.
  14. Raoden+Sarene Breeze+Allriane Vin+Elend Vin+Zane Shan Elariel+Elend Siri+Susebron Kiin+Daora Jalla+Lukel General Khal+Brightness Teshav Dalinar+Navani Elhokar+Aesudan Ahan+Seaden Waxillium+Steris Ranette+Mira Drehy+Dru Rock+Song Kelsier+Mare David+Megan Prof+Tia Tanavast+Cultivation Wayne+MeLaan Sebarial+Palona Torol Sadeas+Ialai Dalinar+Evi Vasher+Shashara Demoux+Asyldin Lirin+Hesina Queen Fen+Kmakl Sazed+Tindwyl Taln+Ash Added the Heraldic Couple. Removed Gavilar and Navani. That one was pretty strained. Divorce isn’t unlikely.
  15. You need a hole in your spiritweb where the investiture can fit. The most common way is through breaking, but there seems to be other methods as well.
  16. We gonna write character summaries? Like this? Roshar Javert -Likes the law -Can’t feel feelings -Sucks at logic.
  17. First off, The Last Jedi spoiler: Second, I think her death fits her character. She was meant to be tragic. Her whole WoR story is incredibly tragic, and is basically her making sacrifice, after sacrifice to ensure her peoples survival, and she keeps on failing. It ends with her dying unceremoniously like a villain, despite the fact that she always was and kept on being a hero. That storyline is greater than the one where she frees herself of Odium and becomes another KR. Eshonai is a brilliant character because of her death, not in spite of it. Of course, seeing it happen would have made an impact, but that might have worked better at the end of WoR in that case. The one thing I really think would have improved the experience would have been to put her prologue in WoR and held off on Jasnahs until OB. That would have made Eshonais story more coherent, I think, just as Szeths prologue added to his character in WoK.
  18. Who makes the list? It feels like something @Ashspren could do.
  19. Welcome! Have an upvote! Who is your favorite character?
  20. What I mean is basically that the Heralds doing non-logical stuff to advance the plot feels wierd. And I think there are hints to that Ishar is not interested in choosing another side but his own. His actions are obviously due to madness, but I think that all the Heralds have a pattern. Nale follows others to the extreme and takes the law too far, for example. Ash destroys pictures of herself (she should be glad that Roshar doesn’t have Facebook). I expect Ishars madness to have a similar pattern to it, and I just think that randomly sending Nale to Odium goes against the Ishar we saw in the Tezim letter, and the Ishar Stormfather talked about.
  21. Andy Serkis would be brilliant as TenSoon.
  22. Eliminated Teshav. If I recall correctly, she makes tea. That means... a winner: General Khal!!!
  23. Welcome! Hope to keep seeing you around! I think its possible that House Davar has some neat family tree which gives them access to some kind of throne or cool status. The one problem is how it would work story-wise. Neither Shallan, nor her brothers, seem fit to rule anything as of now...
  24. Ishar is seeking his own death accoording to Stormfather, so he is defenitely not playing safe. Wiping out the Heralds could defenitely be a goal of his. The only legitimate reasons for Ishar to send Nale to Odium would be to get rid of him, or to have him act as a spy of sorts. I don’t think the Heralds do wierd stuff just because they are mad. If they did, Brandon could have them do all kinds of wierd crem and wave it off with ”they are mad”. There is a pattern to the madness.
  25. I disagree. Ishar is crazy, yes, but all we know of him hints at him being a lone madman. He thinks he is a god, and seeks the death of every man. I feel like he has his own agenda, and will be a wildcard, a little like Mraize and the Ghostbloods (although Mraize is defenitely the more sane one out of the two).
