  1. Welcome to the forum! Cool username! As for your theory, I think that Kaladin, Shallan, Dalinar or Szeth are the candidates for Odiums Champion, because of the text at the back of WoK, which says that one of them will destroy the world. I think it would be a huge change for Kaladin to sideswitch though. Currently, I think Shallan is the more likely one. I do think that Kaladin is more likely than Szeth or Dalinar though.
  2. Oh, yeah I do. I never continued because I don’t know what a swinger group is?
  3. I don’t know if he will have a lasting historical legacy as a king. It depends on how history is written. Humanity won the war against the Parshendi and discovered a new Desolation during his reign, so that might be something he is, at least partly credited for. I think his most important legacy will be with Gavinor and Kaladin, ironically. Kaladin was the one who really got to see him try, and I think that affects him. He won’t forget Elhokar.
  4. Both Wayne and Wit are skilled at social interaction. Both of them know that the best way to avoid suspiscion is to fit in with the locals.
  5. I like this idea. Partially because Moash harnessing Yelig-nar would be terrifying. Partly because then Nale won’t get the Unmade. Oh, and @Vissy forgot to answer you. Moash/Vyre is totally being built up for something. He has been given POVs to show us his reasoning, a backstory, a conflict with a main character, a Honorblade and killed a Herald. That is totally being built-up.
  6. @Steeldancer didn’t you suggest this, way back before OB?
  7. I thought Steeldancer made this topic. Surprised me to see that wasn’t the case. Anyway, I can totally see this.
  8. Rangers Apprentice is easy and fun, I think. And Gilan was a cool character.
  9. Rock is Legolas. Ishar is Saruman. Taln is Gandalf. Bridge 4 are the Eagles.
  10. As for evaluating OB a year after... the weekly chapter releases might be my best fandom experience ever, in any fandom. That was awesome. The book itself... I like OB, but it has its issues. Some things disappointed me, some things were greater than I expected. It has some of the greatest scenes Brandon has ever written. It also wastes some great things that were set up though. I think there are at least two or three Cosmer books I like more, but OB is, at the end of the day, great. And the best things in it (Taln, Dalinars arc, Elhokars death scene, Pattern) beats the best things in most other books by a mile.
  11. I still think this makes sense. Szeth helped them during the battle, and at that time, thee weren’t time for questions. Afterwards, they got intel on him from Mr T, and probably from Szeth himself, off-screen. They might not trust him yet, but having him there is logical.
  12. Whoops. No, it isn’t :-D Great post @TwiLyghtSansSparkles. I agree on everything.
  13. First, nice to see @The Invested Beard again. Second @Secrets, Kylo Ren is one thing I am very passionate about, so I’ll just put this here to explain why he is so awesome: Kylo is basically the consequence of Lukes, Leias and Hans mistakes and failures. He is the guy who in a way paid the price for their greatness. He was expected to grow up to be as awesome as they are, but was neglected by Leia and Han who had better things to do. That forced him to live with the pressure of being great, without the help he needed to handle the expectations. The Kylo we see in the movies is the result of that. He has never felt loved, and always felt a pressure to prove himself. At the same time, he knows that he is weak, and that scares him, which is why he is whiny and temperamental. He is not really a bad person at the start, just a very confused, scared and lonely boy who hides his fear behind a mask and the legacy of Darth Vader. And then, in TLJ, Kylo chooses evil. No one has showed him a way where power doesn’t matter. He gets the chance to become the greatest person in the universe, and he takes it. He chooses evil, ultimately because no one, not even the original heroes, managed to show their love for him. It is deeply tragic, and a fantastic story. As for Cassian and Beckett, Beckett is Woody Harrelson and Cassian is the morally grey rebel :-D
  14. Agreed. He wasn’t necessarily evil even. He just tried to kill Jasnah.
  15. Am I the only one who likes Kabsal? He was funny, and seemed like a nice dude, except for the poison and all that. And well, he could be a Worldhopper, but I think the evidence is a little weak, even though OP has a great eye for catching details.
  16. Its an interesting idea, and I think you are right that Moash might be a benevolent Odium. I really can’t tell wether it will happen though.
  17. I doubt it. Moash is a conflict that has been building since WoR, and now he is advancing in Odiums army, has killed Elhokar and Jezrien and owns a Honorblade. I strongly doubt he is headed toward an unceremonious death. If anyone was built up for major things, its Moash. I fully agree that he won’t be the Champion though, mostly because it seems like the obvious pick. I also have a gut feeling that the Champion will be a very major character, and so I doubt that it will be Moash.
  18. Can I be joining Tournament 4? I miss writing raps. I would like to give it another try with Amaram, if that is okay.
  19. Personally, I think its Szeth. He might be the most honorable person on Roshar, and the fifth book, where I think the Contest will happen, is his book. Plus, he didn’t get Nightblood for nothing. Seeing Szeth go from the antagonistic and mad assassin to the hero who fights for humanity would be a great story arc as well.
  20. Avengers Infinity War spoiler:
  21. I still don’t see why Brandon would have Taravangian drop a false Herald reveal at the end of OB. The fact that it comes when it does (at the end of the book) from a source we trust when it comes to Herald-identification, makes it look like a reveal. I don’t think Brandon fakes things like that just to mess with us. Dova is Battar.
  22. We spend a lot of time guessing on Ofiums Champion, but Honor needs one as well. Who is it?
  23. @Subvisual Haze Good points. However, I still disagree. For one, if Dalinar was Odiums Champion, why would Odium be scared of meeting him again? Dalinar turned the opportunity down quite explicitly. I doubt Odium can slap the Champion title upon anyone and then have them as his Champion no matter what they said. That would be unfair towards Odium. If he can’t change, Dalinar just needs to lose the Contest walk-over to Honors Champion, and then Odium will be toast.
