Nale might turn him down. He fights for the Singers, not necessarily for Odium.

When he screamed I am Unity and locked Nergaul into a gemstone. I’m pretty sure he said no as well.

Why can't Straff seem to hear Vin outside his tent?
Toaster Retribution replied to monkeyfeet228's topic in Mistborn
Straff might not have been burning tin at the time. He is not that smart, and prone to underestimate people.- 5 replies

When you meet other Sanderson fanss
Toaster Retribution replied to Mailnaise's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, maybe. I don’t like the idea of spoiling Era 1 though. Its the greatest Sanderson ending ever... but I can defenitely see why AoL would work well. -
Odium wanted Dalinar to be his champion. Dalinar told him no thanks. If Dalinar had said yes, then I doubt Odium could have another pick, but since Dalinar refused, Odium never had him as a champion. Thus, Odium has not yet chosen a champion, and is free to approach anyone. I don’t think it will be Moash though. It feels too obvious.

Who in the Cosmere so far is the Most Evil?
Toaster Retribution replied to Xaladin's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Most of them are not sentient, and can’t really be evil. We haven’t really met the intelligent ones yet -
What are you known for on the Shard?
Toaster Retribution replied to Kestrel's topic in General Discussion
For actually using a real-world name instead of a made up one. -
We need a random-theory generator
Toaster Retribution replied to Ripheus23's topic in General Brandon Discussion
You need random bizzare theories? Check my signature :-D Or I can make some up for you: The Desolations are caused by Hoid in order to falsely implicate Odium. Spook is Mraize in disguise as May Aladar. Autonomys Vessel is in fact Dockson. Beard is Thaidakar or Restares, whichever you prefer. Chana is Navani, and suffers from a memory loss. Renarins glasses were Dawnshards. -
Who in the Cosmere so far is the Most Evil?
Toaster Retribution replied to Xaladin's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I defenitely see your point. However, I think that this is somewhat wrong. Vin, Sazed, Kelsier and Elend, the main viewpoints, are all his victims. -
When you meet other Sanderson fanss
Toaster Retribution replied to Mailnaise's topic in Stormlight Archive
I have tried introducing Sanderson to various friends and family members. Hasn’t gone very well this far. -
I disagree, and agree. When Kaladin makes a joke, he feels out of character at times. But Pattern, for example, is hilarious, and has a very unique humor. Kelsier was also pretty funny without breaking character, as was Lightsong. The ones I am bothered by the most are Lopen and Lift, Lopen because the plot seems to adapt to fit him rather than the opposite (him becoming Radiant at the end of OB) and Lift because she is annoying to me.
-
I’d like something like of ”The Singers Strikes Back” or ”The Rythms Awaken.” Maybe ”The Last Listener.”

Is Lopen in love with Kaladin?
Toaster Retribution replied to Red Eyes's topic in Stormlight Archive
Kaladin and Syl are friends, but not in love. If Kaladin was in love with Syl, he wouldn’t be thinking about Shallan the way he did. -
I think it is one of the Bondsmith surges. Odiums forces seems to be out of touch with Bondsmithing for some reason. They don’t have an Unmade version of the Bondsmiths either, for example. I have to admit to being somewhat disappointed by this threads title. I thought someone had lost their Fused and needed help to find it...

I also like Elantris. Hrathen is awesome.

It is the Elantrian term for trickster. I did not need the Coppermind for this. At all.

Characters that are compared to each other in the books
Toaster Retribution replied to Jenet's topic in Stormlight Archive
I am not a native english-speaker either, but foils in this context should mean that the characters shows different sides of something. Amaram acts as a foil to Dalinar by showing a different way of handling the pain of mistakes in the past. I also understand your point with the thread better now after this post than after your opening post. I thought that you were looking for Kaladin/Moash and Dalinar/Amaram relationships, and then Lopen/Gaz, Elhokar/Shallan, and others would have been a stretch, I think. But if you are looking for less obvious parallells, then nothing here is really a stretch. And then there are also a whole ton of characters to examine: Dalinar/Sadeas - Both are Highprinces in Alethkar, and conquered a kingdom, yet took completely different paths after that. Axies/Arclo - Both are immortal and feared, and have vastly different ways to live their lives, and vastly different attitudes. Rysn/Hobber along with Lopen and Gaz - All have/had a physical handicap of some sorts. The list goes on... -
Characters that are compared to each other in the books
Toaster Retribution replied to Jenet's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree with Leyrann that some are a stretch, but there are absolutely characters who work as foils, especially in OB. The Dalinar-Amaram thing was the best thing about Amarams rushed character arc in my opinion. I think we will see a foil relationship between Szeth and Nale in the future. I suspect that Szeth will be the good version of following codes and laws while Nale will be the flawed one. @Leyrann Your Mistborn comparison is a spoiler, so I’d recommend changing it to something like Vin and Kelsier instead to avoid accidentally spoiling people who haven’t read Mistborn yet. -
Characters Who Wouldn't Fare Well on Other Planets
Toaster Retribution replied to Draginon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Nale would be very unhappy inside Elantris, since the place was lawless for a while. -
