  1. Huh, I thought the timeskip was fifteen years, not twenty. And I was mostly objecting to the fact that Wayne wouldn't be born at the time of WoK, which he should be, no matter if which way we do the math.
  2. Pattern and Wyndle got sent by their kin, but no one accompanied them to their chosen proto-radiant. The other spren stayed at home and cheered them on, basically. To have other spren of the same kind actually follow a KR-spren into the PR and help them achieve some sort of goal would be unprecedented, going by what we have seen.
  3. Yup, we have a WoM on that (Word of Mraize).
  4. I'd love that, but I would bet on Ishar besting Nale. With all the buildup he has got, I assume that he will be an important villain. Nale has already served one purpose in the story, and it remains to be seen if he will get another role/arc, or be killed off.
  5. The Way of Toilet Paper? Maybe these are the most important words a man can say.
  6. A bird drinking ink. Love it.
  7. I am pretty much convinced that Tezim is Ishar by now. I wonder when he will start sending people to reclaim Urithiru. Sesemalex Dar is not that far away.
  8. This reminds me, Taldain is supposed to be closed down by Autonomy. Wonder how Mraize got the sand. The birds have been on Patji for a long time though. It isn't that off to assume that there were aviar on FotS during Stormlight. And Mraize has a collection of stuff that he grabbed while worldhopping. Him having an aviar wouldn't be strange at all.
  9. I doubt it is the same spren, or spren with different looks, or of a different type. Syl would have told Kaladin about them, in that case.
  10. I think that Roshars magic, with the bond focus, makes bonds grant specific effects, which is why people suppose that Szeth will get something from Nightblood. That said, the only reason I can see for him getting the Skybreaker surges is his perception, just like @The One Who Connects stated.
  11. Hm. He got the power to dress like a gentleman then.
  12. I find the idea interesting, but I don't think that it is likely. Weren´t there more yellow spren around, who escorted other groups of parshmen to Kaladins ganchos? If Yellowspren is Eshonais cometspren, she brought her cometbuddies with her, and I find that unlikely. KR-spren seems to be out alone. Syl, Pattern. Wyndle... they all came alone, without support from their kin.
  13. I like the sensing Investiture idea. I can also see it protecting him from investiture-based attacks.
  14. The power to be a badass.
  15. I really don't see the point of not reading peoples works because you don't agree with them. We all have the right of opinion, and even if we read a book by someone who has a different opinion, and thus grant monetary support to someone who thinks differently, we haven't supported the opinion, but the person. I choose what books I read based on what it is about. The only instance I could think of when I wouldn't buy a book because of the author is: A) If I read other books by that author and found them bad. B ) If they had done something truly horrific, like murdering or raping someone. But I don't want to ignore specific authors because of their beliefs. Actually, I think that it is important that we read stuff by people we disagree with, to get different perspectives on the world.
  16. I liked it, but I found it overrated, and I'm not that interested in Book 2, although I'll probably read it sometime (maybe when he releases the third one, just so that I can read the entire set).
  17. Isn't back five of Stormlight supposed to be after Era 2? In that case, Wayne should be born by WoR, but nothing more than a teenager.
  18. I both hope and think not. There is nothing that points toward that, really.
  19. The whole "smarter than I" thing in the epigraph feels like Taravangian to me. He has also spoken about being a heretic, and is a popurarly suggested proto-Bondsmith. This is the Bondsmith book. And Taravangian already feels dumb, on some days, and if he discovers some glaring hole in the Diagram, he will feel even dumber.
  20. Dunno. She might just want to skip over any confusion, and thus decides to introduce herself as Dustbringer, but then add: we prefer the term Releasers. Or she just finds the whole "we don't want to be called Dustbringers" - thing silly, and doesn't give a rust. True. I personally think that she is with the Diagram. They need some Radiants too. I guess that she could be Odium-influenced, but I hope not. I'm getting tired of assuming that everyone is controlled by Odium. I doubt she has an entirely own agenda though. We have more agendas than we need already, with the Kholins/Team Urithiru/Knights Radiant, the Parshmen, the Diagram, the Sons of Honor, the Ghostbloods, Hoid, Odium, Cultivation, Ialai/Team Sadeas, the Shin, Tezim, the Skybreakers and probably some more Heralds running around with different plans and goals.
  21. Mraize has a bird. Some people are very smart, and identified it as a likely aviar (from Sixth of the Dusk). It makes sense, considering what we know of Mraize. What I find interesting about this is two things: how did he get it, and what can it do? In the AU essay on Drominad, Khriss states that First of the Sun is a dangerous place to travel to. The expedtitions sent from Silverlight has not returned? Is Mraize badass enough to get there, get a bird, and get out? Or did someone else (Iyatil?) do it for him? And then, what can it do? Mraize certainly needs something to keep up with Radiants and Voidbringers. Will the aviar help him with this? Or is it just a normal bird? And then, last but not least, has he named it? In that case, I bet it's named Fred.
  22. It might be that Dustbringer is the more well-known name for them. What is this whole deal with bringers on Roshar anyway? Voidbringer, Dustbringer, Oathbringer...
  23. I don't really find this to be a good description of Amaram. Amaram tries to bring back the power of the Almighty, and the church. He does this because he is a religious fanatic, who thinks that humanity would be better off ruled by the Vorin Church. Amarams every action, even taking Kaladins shards, are in order to fulfill this purpose. I doubt it is about power for Amaram. He has made personal sacrifices, such as losing a close and dear friend (Dalinar). He thinks that his actions will help others, that a stronger belief in the Almighty will help others.
  24. About Mraizes bird, it is interesting to note that it reacts when Shallan is hissing or snapping at Mraize.
  25. It is an interesting thought, but I don't think it works like that. Dalinar has been in physical pain before. Had the Nightwatcher interpreted it as "taking away all pain, physical and mental" Dalinar wouldn't have been feeling anything at all when he got beaten up in combat, but he does.
