Thoughts: *Shallans theatre is probably a metaphor for something. I can't figure out exactly what though. *And the Unmade is basically confirmed. I think this is one of the non-sentient ones. It's behavior seems pretty basic. It looks storming creepy though. Also, why did it watch the theatre? And how did it get into Urithiru in the first place. It kind of draws parallells to the basilisk in Harry Potter, with the "hiding in walls and ambushing people" behavior. *I like the mentions of the Highprinces in Dalinars flashback. We learned more about Sebarial and Ruthar, and got Vamahs forename. *Dalinar was a total addict to the Thrill. The guy he fought was a douchebag as well though. *I kind of like Gavilar in these chapters. Hope we get more on Evi later. Also, I think this is the final flashback in Part 1. *Malata has something against the Alethi. Huh. *Amaram appears! Yay! I love the guy, and this appearance makes me think that he tries to be honorable because it is the right thing to do. Other might disagree, but I do think that he will stand trial if both he and Dalinar beat the Desolation, and survive. Adolins dislike toward him is interesting, but I guess it has to do with his loyalty toward Kaladin.

Try with another device than the one you are using. my computer refused to show the chapters for some reason, but my phone works.

Completely crazy theory, but hear me out: Mraize is some kind of Chosen One for the Ghostbloods. Why do I think this? Well, first off, Mraize is obviously being groomed for something. Iyatil is Mraizes babsk, and yet he is the one in command (seemingly). My idea is that she is allowing Mraize to command because she wishes to train him, and groom him for leadership later on. We also have the WoB that says that Mraize has been visiting a couple of planets, supervised by Iyatil: Why would Mraize need close supervising? He seems to be a badass warrior, and owns a lot of trophies. And why would he need leadership training? Well, because he is important. Very important. And why would he be this important? It has to be some sort of extraordinary reason. You can find a clever politician, a skilled fighter or a scarred dude in a lot of places. It has to be something more than that, and thus I propose that Mraize is unique in some way that has led the Ghostbloods to assume that he is some sort of Chosen One/important guy we need to train. I'll add in two more things to support this insane idea: one, it would be a very Brandon-like thing to give the antagonists a Chosen One, with some kind of corrupted hero's journey. And two, Mraize and his hunting obsession. Classic heroes often has a quest of some sort. Frodo wishes to destroy the Ring, King Arthur was supposed to find the Grail, Luke would best the Empire and bring balance to the Force. Can Mraizes hunting be some sort of twist on the hero-quest? There you go folks. I've gifted you a theory. Rip it apart!

Fair enough. I blame the fact that english is my second language. I can't have enough tricksters in my stories.- 76 replies

theory The Rest of the Shards and Where to Find Them
Toaster Retribution replied to Khyrindor's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Good point. Attempting to dominate someone is a pretty ambitious action. Conquerors are usually incredibly ambitious. Dominating implies a kind of dictatorial style of governing/leading, and I just feel like Odium would add to that. My main point with the Ruin and Dominion comments are that a Shard can have an intent which is also a possible mix of two other shards. Wishful thinking. I like the idea of a Trickery Shard. I'll give you this one. I like it. I don't think it will be granting stuff to everyone everytime though.- 76 replies

Rosharan Perpendicularity
Toaster Retribution replied to Brightlord M. Alhstrom's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This is a very interesting point. My guess would be that the Shards have collectively done something to him to stop him from harming others. -

Why? 5 is one of the best ones. Philosophers Stone is the worst one. -
[OB] Inside cover art!! Finally!
Toaster Retribution replied to Overlord Jebus's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm pretty sure these are Dandos paintings, I believe Brandon said that. And that is my point. He wouldn't know about Tezim, and thus, this Ishar picture is not much in the way of evidence for the Ishar = Tezim theory.- 321 replies

[OB] Inside cover art!! Finally!
Toaster Retribution replied to Overlord Jebus's topic in Stormlight Archive
I espouse the Ishar=Tezim idea as much as the next guy, but I have to point out that Dandos the Oilsworn didn't know about Tezim. So unless Ishar generally had people worshipping him in culty fashions, I doubt this picture can support that theory. Also, am I the only one who thinks of southern scadrians when I see those masks?- 321 replies

Evil In The Stormlight Archive
Toaster Retribution replied to Stormrunner1730's topic in Stormlight Archive
@thejopen27 Would you call Vin or Kelsier evil then? They too have done bad things/been willing to do bad things, to cause good. Wouldn't that be evil too? -

I don't! -
Is there any character created by Brandon which you feel is bad? Didn't work? For me, I have to say that it is Val from the Reckoners. She felt bland and boring, and her only trait seemed to be being angry. Any others?

A book about the third empire?
Toaster Retribution replied to AnonymousFan's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
This sounds awesome. More Sel stories please! I like the worldbuilding there, and it feels like there is huge potential for more stories. I could also imagine the third empire being akin to Russian culture, but I think that aztec is a lot cooler. -
Evil In The Stormlight Archive
Toaster Retribution replied to Stormrunner1730's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't really agree. Evil actions can outweigh good ones, and good can outweigh evil. But an action isn't what defines a human being. That is the mind and soul, the actual core of a human. The inside is more important than the outside and all that. I think it applies to good and evil too. I see evil as a conscious choice, or just when you almost always do horrible things for personal gain. Sauron is evil. Voldemort is evil. Emperor Palpatine is evil. Steelheart is evil. In all those characters we see bad intents, not just bad actions. They all seek power for themselves, and happily kills others for it. I think that there is an obvious difference between Sauron, Voldemort, Palpy and Steelheart, and folks like Amaram, Szeth or King T. The SA guys are more complex, more human. They have reasons for their actions that goes beyond themselves. This is why I can't consider them evil. Their actions are evil, but their intentions are not, as opposed to Sauron or Voldemort, were both intentions and actions are evil. Intentions define people more than their actions do. Szeth is a coward. There is a difference between cowardice and being evil. -
Do not despair, good nathrang, I will never smite those who are undeserving of it. I shall now endeavor to find myself some bread, which I shall indeed smite until nothing remains but dust and ash! Good luck with that magic thingy!

Yeah, it is probably the same for me, when it comes to age-guessing.

Evil In The Stormlight Archive
Toaster Retribution replied to Stormrunner1730's topic in Stormlight Archive
To be honest, we don´t see Denths worst crimes until the end where we side with Vasher, but that is beside the point. You are right: perspective does make a difference. I think that most people wouldn´t think that Amaram, Taravangian or Szeth were bad if we saw their good actions. If we saw scenes of Taravangian genuinely caring for sick children in his hospital? If we saw Amaram valiantly saving farmers from being slaughtered by bandits? If we saw Szeth picking apples for poor people in Shinovar? I am convinced that all of these characters have done good things toward others, because most people have. And can they be evil while they do these things? Can a person be evil if they do good things to? If they want good for others? We have mostly seen the bad sides of our antagonists. I think there are more than that to be seen. -
Didn't see this until recently, but yeah, I'm quite young (eighteen to be exact). How old did you think I was?

Who are you bonded to? And can that person make you into a Steeldancerblade?

Hoid's Purpose in Shattering Adonalsium

Because the 16 vessels were grabbing Shards already. And he didn't want to be controlled by a single intent, just like @Penumbra says.- 10 replies
