  1. It wouldn't surprise me if Renarin senses it too. As for Dalinar... I'm not surprised that he fails to sense it, but I think that the Stormfather should. It might be that something special is required though, like connection to Cultivation. As for Mraize... I guess it is the same answer as Mraize questions usually get. Because he's Mraize. Anyone noticing the similarities between Mraize and Batman?
  2. You could try making the "Aanden special". Its easy: 1. Take books you don't want to read. 2. Cook them. 3. Enjoy.
  3. Yeah, I think I worded the post badly. I meant that since there is no logical way for her to have a Honorblade, she has to be a Radiant, since she could activate the Oathgates :-)
  4. I honestly think Malata is what she seems to be - a Dustbringer. What we should be asking is who she is working for, not wether or not she is a Radiant. It would be a huge stretch to assume that she has a Honorblade, or that she is lying about her powers. She could open the Oathgate, so she is a Radiant. I don't see how anything else than her being a Dustbringer makes sense.
  5. There is not only that comment, but also the drunk Szeth spoke to in the WoK, who is commonly believed to be Jezrien.
  6. That is also hard to tell, since we don't know exactly why Mraize is interested in her. But I do think that Mraize is far more powerful than Ialai, and that he can use her or kill her if he wishes too. So yes, if Mraize wants Ialai to be either dead or doomed, she will be.
  7. Huh, good point. How do we know when we are done voting?
  8. @Steeldancer get over here and do one!
  9. Yay, feruchemist! The most useful magic system of all!
  10. @Calderis @The One Who ConnectsFirst off, when it comes to Retribution: I don't think that it is an issue that it could be a possible pairing of Honor and Odium. When discussing Ambition earlier today, I thought about Dominion, and it seems to me that it could be a possible pairing of Ambition and Odium. But yet, Dominion is it's own Shard. Another more far-fetched one could be Cultivation + Odium = Ruin, but I'm not really sold on that myself. Either way, I don't necessarily think that Retribution/Justice is out just because it can be a possible combination-shard, since I feel like Dominion already is. Also, The One Who Connects, I think you accidentally put in the wrong Shard here :-) Anyway, if I were to be bold and, with the help of @Rider of Storms list of Shards put up my idea of which Intents the sixteen has, it would look like this: *Odium *Honor *Cultivation *Ruin *Preservation *Autonomy *Retribution *Dominion *Devotion *Enlightenment *Guidance *Trickery *Ambition *Endowment *Chaos *Hope The bolded ones are the ones we know about, and the others are the ones we theorize about. I don't know how all this would fit in with the categories in the OP though. Oh, and I also doubt that Enlightenment (or any other Shard) is with Silverlight. That would give them far too much knowledge far to easily. And then we would also have a Shard unable to find Yolen, which is wierd, since Mraize may have done it. And Mraize is good, but not that good.
  11. Hm... that were some interesting debates. Seems like I'm not the first to propose that Ambition visited Sel. I'd say that the focus on Ambition in the Derethi religion is suspicious. I do think that Ambition was in some way involved with Sel, and the Selish shards. Maybe that is the reason for why Odium went to Sel in the first place. Ambition might have been friends with Aona and Skai, and so Odium suspected that he might have hid on Sel...? Or the ambition-references on Sel are just leavings of Dominion. Attempting to dominate someone, or something, is pretty ambitious.
  12. You are correct. However, I don't think that Amarams logic is good, or should be practiced/followed by anyone. My point is mostly that the things Amaram does isn't for himself, but for others. His intentions are to, in the end, help others. But yes, his way of doing this is extremely stupid, and yes, he is wrong. But I can't call him evil, when he is attempting to do something he thinks is good.
  13. I don't know... you are making a very good case for this. I am a bit more onboard the "Mraize has an aviar" theory, but each time I read your arguments for this, I find it more and more likely...
  14. So, lets say that there is, hypothetically, an Unmade lurking in Urithiru. Let's say Shallan finds it. Then what are they going to do about it? It is a powerful, evil Odiumspren. Our main action hero, the go-to guy when it comes to fighting these kinds of things, is currently away road-tripping with pseudo-Voidbringers and wierd yellow spren. Our remaining Radiants are either not that great when it comes to combat (Shallan), untrained (Dalinar) or both (Renarin). Then we have Adolin, with plate and blade, our new Dustbringer, Malata, whose abilities, skills and allegiances we are uncertain about at this point, Taln, who is good at mumbling mantras, Mraize, who can potentially engage the Unmade with a chicken and a blowgun, and Sadeas corpse, which I guess can be thrown at the Unmade in times of great need. My point is, do the people in Urithiru, even if they pool their skills and resources together, have the strenght to tackle an Unmade, if they find one?
  15. Okay, sorry for misunderstanding your intent :-)
  16. We have about as much evidence to it being a normal bird though. And, knowing Mraize, this is in character. The arguments against it are basically that it is unlikely, which is wrong, since Mraize has trophies from planets that are harder to get to than FotS (Yolen and Taldain), and that Brandon doesn't want to mix in too many obvious Cosmere references into Stormlight, as well as the fact that SA might have been outlined before Brandon invented the Aviar (including one with Mraize might not be that big of a change to the outline though, so that is kind of moot as well).
  17. Well, I don't really subscribe to this, but I can see it as a possibility. I think you understand that it is still kind of crackpot though :-) But its "realistic crackpot" not "unrealistic crackpot". And I love Mraize, but I'll be sad if he kills Amaram. Please don't hate on me, but I would mourn anyone of those two more than I would mourn Kaladin.
  18. Why we love Brandon? The man came up with a god who doesn't believe in his own religion. The question answers itself :-)
  19. This is a huge crackpot, and because of that, I doubt it is true. But at the same time, there is some logic to it. Although I have a hard time seeing Iyatil removing her mask, and her face wouldn't look like Ialais either, since she isn't Alethi. But they might have used another woman? Wonder what they will do with Amaram if this is true?
  20. New Member? No Marshmallows? Not more? Nerdy Murderer? Whatever, welcome to the Shard @Master Knapper!
  21. He might use it in the story though, to give Mraize powers. He could probably find a feasible way to explain an aviar without going to deep into Cosmere stuff.
  22. Wonder if Henry Cavill is here among us right now...?
  23. That is the ultimate goal of the Ghostbloods. To get a shining tower that everyone can look at in awe.
  24. I think option 1&2 are the most likely. Why would she think that she has killed Jasnah?
