  1. Jezrien: No Voidbringer fighting until you dress properly, Ash! Ash: Storm off (goes fighting Voidbringers anyway). Jezrien: The teenagers these days...
  2. I have a hard time seeing this happen. It would only add more Cosmere references to the story, something Brandon isn't too keen on doing.
  3. Agreed. I certainly want to see climaxes without Kaladin this book. Give Adolin, Dalinar and Shallan time to be the huge stars.
  4. Bow down to Toaster Retribution, bringer of worlds! (I do know that Worldbringers doesn't bring worlds, but my interpretation sounded cool).
  5. Back in my own Hoid thread (link in my signature) I suggested that he wanted to become a better version of Adonalsium, for the good of the Cosmere
  6. My suggestions aren't perfect, and the things Brandon writes are better than anything I can come up with. You are right in that Kaladin saving Adolin fit the story the best, just like Kaladin fighting Szeth or Kaladin rescuing the Kholin army at the Tower fit the story best. I just wish that there had been other options for Brandon to take. I do like the way Kaladin and Adolins characters progressed after the duel though.
  7. @maxal I doubt Amaram is looking for vengeance. He is a zealot, and what matters most to him the Sons of Honor. He isn't petty like Sadeas. He will defenitely attempt to fix his reputation, and end up in a position of power, but I don't think he will spend time fighting the Kholins or Kaladin unless it benefits his end goal.
  8. I like them too, but they have received criticism (pretty fair criticism) for being overly similar to Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. The plot of the first book in particular is basically Star Wars all over again.
  9. Can we have ads for Brandons books? Or are we already doing that, since the site is dedicated to them?
  10. Welcome! Hope you enjoy it around here! You seem to have been pretty active though, with that post count of yours!
  11. I'll probably fail my upcoming tests since I'll be too busy reading...
  12. @Bridge Boy Brandon is aware of this and plans to tone down on the resurrections in the future.
  13. Reading the first Powder Mage. Heard good things about it.
  14. Its the Desolation Paparazzi who stalked the Heralds all those years ago. The Heralds grew sick and tired of it, and broke the Oathpact. The paparazzi then went after the Radiants instead, and thus caused the Recreance. The Skybreakers remained because they knew how to sue the paparazzi and thus earned money from them.
  15. I defenitely agree, Hoid (and maybe Frost too) encouraged the Shattering. I think the 16 vessels did the "Shattering" part themselves, but I do think that Hoid was the mind behind everything. The Loki figure who tricked them into doing it.
  16. Guys, they are trying to trick us about that woman. It is obviously May Aladar ;-) As for the two unknown Heralds, I hope we get Nale for one, since I like him and he is cool. I can see Brandon wanting to have two men and two women, so I'm going to go with gut feel and bet Chana for the other one.
  17. I don't think Moash would testify about the Elhokar murder though. He regrets his actions, and his betrayal, and I doubt he would want to hurt Kaladin even more after what he did at the end of WoR. It is possible that Graves tells Taravangian about everything though, and if Kaladin was confronted by Dalinar about the Elhokar murder, he would most likely admit his part in it. I have a hard time seeing Kaladin lying to Dalinar about anything really, and I think he would be honest about this. But if this becomes a big deal, it will most likely be Graves and Taravangians fault, and not Moashs. I do think that Elhokar would pardon Kaladin though, or at least argue for it. It would show growth for his character, and would also lead to Kaladin respecting him more. Remember, Elhokar never knew of Kaladins involvement with the murderers.
  18. I'm not trying to say that he is too epic, just that he steals the spotlight and saves everyone all the time. But I can also mention the first Szeth attack in WoR. Kaladin saves everyone there too. And in the end of WoK as well. They all make sense from a storytelling-perspective. They advance the plot, and the characters. But if I have one complaint with SA it is that. That it was written so that Kaladin had to be the hero everytime.
  19. This is true, but he wasn't needed for all of it. His fight with Szeth at Narak was awesome, and no one else but Nale could have pulled that off (and Nale helping wouldn't make sense). The duel for example: I would have liked someone else to join in the fight. Amaram could have helped, or Dalinar, or even Shallan, by way of illusions. Having Amaram helping would have given Kaladin interesting things to reflect upon, as well. I hope Kaladin takes the backseat in Oathbringer, and, as you say, that we can see some more fighting Radiants.
  20. Oh yeah, Gravity (Sandra Bullock movie) is one of the most boring things I've seen in my life.
  21. After reading the posts here I'm kind of being convinced about that Malata has her own agenda after all, but it is probably sonething private related just to her. Being interested in Dalinar because of his power sounds reasonable. I do buy that she is a bad Diagram member, because of how suspicious she is. Most likely, she is out for herself.
  22. I assume that the core of the organization is Cosmere-aware and worldhopper-y. That said, people around it, or lower-ranking members, are probably not worldhoppers or Cosmere-aware. For example, Lin Davar probably wasn't, and my gut tells me Kabsal wasn't either.
  23. I don't really have problems with the fact that Kaladin succeeds with things. What I do have problems with is that it is always he who gets to do the coolest stuff. It is always he who gets to save the day. I like Kaladin, but it does occasionally feel like he steals the spotlight from other characters.
  24. No, he doesn't. He saves the Kholins at the Tower, he saves the bridgemen from slavery, he saves everyone from Szeth during his first attack, he saves Elhokar from Moash, he saves Adolin and Renarin from Relis & shardbearers, and he saves Dalinar and Adolin from Szeth at the end of WoR.
