  1. This page assumes that "Taln" is in fact Herold Talenel which we have no confirmation of. This is in speculation but I feel wording is too strong: I don't want to edit until I'm sure.
  2. He also told the story about two blind men. Not sure how does this apply. I think it may even be something like Hoid telling someone "there's a myth that..." or "some people believe that..." and that would be it. We need to sift through any word Hoid says or is said to have said. There's also Rock telling about the man coming out from the Peaks, but this would be a myth about Hoid as Horneater god.
  3. I've made a playlist from Transistor OST (mainly composing of the tracks with vocal) and it's awesome.
  4. I think that Dark One can be cosmere just fine. IIRC Rithmatist was supposed to be cosmere but then wasn't and let's face it, Calamity totally sounds like a Shard (that's why RECKONERS ISN'T COSMERE meme exist in the first place).
  5. Sick, feeling bad, catching up on material cause I have to do tasks for class I have tomorrow. (It's programming) And I can't just go with being sick, even if I go to the doctor and get what's-that-called paper saying I can't go to the class... thing is, my absence would be justified but I wouldn't earn any points since I would be absent. Every class we claim the exercises/tasks we have done and people are chosen randomly to present them in front of the whole class - that's how they're checked. To pass this course we need at least 50% and I've already missed one class so my counter is 9 out of 23. Tomorrow's point pool is 8 so if I do all of them (unlikely) I end up with 17/31. Barely above 50%. It gets worse: not only my solution has to be 100% correct, I have to be able to describe and explain every single thing in my code. And I may be asked "what if I change <that part of code> to <this>?" And I have to know. That's not normal - in other classes we could ask that question. If we didn't understand something, we could ask for explanation. This class is opposite. If I make a mistake, all my points I gathered so far will be zero'd. In other classes there's no penalty for being wrong. Normally I'm stressed out before this class but today stress is going through the roof. (I could rant about this teacher for hours - once I was presenting my code, simple one, and he asked me everything he could so I'd make a mistake... but when somebody else presented a solution using mechanism not yet introduced (which is actually against the rules of this class) he just said "Probably no one in this class except you will get this"... and accepted, didn't ask him a single question... didn't even bothered to explain this guy's code to the class)
  6. Turns out that that 300mb/s thing is their maximum but... not in our region and not in the deal we're getting. Still, upgrade from 1.5 mb/s to 40mb/s is sweet. And no cap. You don't know pain if you haven't lived with a cap on internet.
  7. Wait, we know now what these faces are? Completely missed that. Wait, Darkside has magic? I thought they've got only technology. I mean, they didn't believe in Sand Mastery and Taldain essay speaks only of Sand Mastery.
  8. Is Brandon being really clever here? Given the theory of Invested sunlight...
  9. *gets summoned* *looks around*
  10. Spoilers for Ep9.
  11. Dammit, you beat me to it. You're obviously wrong. Every god, goddess and any deific character save for Shards is Bavadin; as far as characters go, they're all kandra save for main characters.
  12. Theory disproved then. I don't consider it bad since that WoB was mindblowing.
  13. I join the choir of people asking for a source. It is? I'd really want a source on this. Anyway, we don't really know when the essays were written. If they all were written after Final Ascension then it means that it's thousands of years after the restoration of Elantris - IIRC between Elantris and Mistborn there is a significant time-gap around/at least two thousand years. In that time Elantris could have became an Empire. But it's still hard to believe that them and Fjordell could and would ignore each other - they would have been two significant powers sharing borders - they couldn't ignore each other more than USA and USSR could during Cold War. But my theory is that Elantrians set up their empire in Cognitive and are pretty much ignoring those in Physical Realm as "those backwards who are still on the planet". While their counterpart in Physical - post-Reod Elantris - is ignored as insignificant; there's a WoB that Fjordell would not consider Teod and Arelon part of Jaddeth Empire so they could drop attempts to conquer them and their religion would check out fine.
  14. Well, Rose Empire is pretty much ignored in Opelon/Sycla (see the Wyrn map for reference. Sarene comments on the Rose Empire as foreign lands) and Rose Empire cares not much for the Opelon (see Shai's comment about southern mountain passage to the distant Teod - and Teod is the closest to them). While 'Rose barbarians' seem very small on the map, we have to take into account that the map isn't and couldn't be very much trustworthy when it comes to these regions. Anyway, after I read Secret History I believe that Elantrians may have much more influence and power than we could conclude from seeing their geographical situation - they may already have large groups of Elantrians claiming Cognitive Realm with Ire being just one of them. For all we know they could have already have fortresses build all around Sel's subastral.
  15. Well, I may have changed everything, but on the other hand I made everything a clue
  16. @Ookla the Atypical, 74?! What are your settings?
  17. We'll get back to you (I have to go ask the admin but he's asleep now) I think that's what my dad said although I'm not sure and he could have had a slip of the tongue. I never checked. Speed test gives me 4.4 Mb/s down and 0.3 Mb/s up. But I'm the only computer online right now. So probably the numbers in the previous post should be k->m. Or M. Double convention :/
  18. it's all in the OP, Paalm
  19. Hold on. You mean uptil now you were using the magnetic stripe? I barely remember them. I always thought USA is so up-to-date with new tech and all; stop shattering my beliefs! Only if you happen to live in a big city, though. I live just a hundred meters or so from the border of the city and I've been putting up with a cap for five years now. Right now it's 22GB per month per household although earlier (year or two ago) it was 10GB. Three computers in use. And speed is about 1,3 mb/s (and it was supposed to be LTE. LTE my chull). Fortunately right now my family is switching to some other provider (as this one is crem) and there is one offering 300 mb/s. Without. Any. Cap. Fingers crossed that I'll be posting in the Good News Thread soon EDIT: Numbers can be off. Magnitudes can be off. Stay tuned. EDIT2: yeah, mb not kb.
  20. Tomorrow is expected a drop in temperature and strong wind and snow and I'm already feeling like I'm getting sick and I just want to curl up under blanket instead of studying
  21. I'm not sure what you mean by "order" but the comments Shai makes on different materials are about its properties related to precise carving used in Forgery. How hard it is to carve it and how rigid it is and things like that. Soulstone is very special as it's soft and easy to carve but after burning it it becomes very hard so it combines two very different properties and that's why it's so precious to Forgers. There is no inherent property of crystal that makes stamps carved in it more likely to take. I don't recall such statement. Anyway, on Sel is the shape that matters, not what you made the shape with.
  22. I think he meant "modern command" as "the single Breath Command". It's " Awaken to my Breath, serve my needs, live at my Command and at my word. <Security phrase>." as opposed to the old ones which took way more Breath.
  23. Right, I forgot. Well, I've already picked a name for next year
  24. But it's suspicious. Is this some inside-joke?
  25. Why are there so many "Ooklas the..." + I-adjective? Is this how it's supposed to be played?
