Asimov wrote a thing set on a Moon. I don't remember details, though. It was "The Gods Themselves". Part Three of the book, "...Contend in Vain?".

The thing is, I don't want an usual news report - more like something being reported from the scene with things happening all the time. Like... like a hostage situation, perhaps. Some crisis. I know usual news would also help but that's not quite the thing I'm looking for. Meanwhile, I figured out vampires... I think. I have an idea but I'd need to write it down and see whether it fits into the system. On another note, I reinvented the Wandering Jew: I was thinking about Bronze Compounders, then I threw Allomantic pewter into the mix... a little while later I realized there already is such a person in folklore :| I think I'll go with subverting that: ageless man who wanders the Earth (and doesn't sleep/is cursed not to sleep) with such strong body powers that is also effectively immortal. I'll have him as the source of the legend but leave unclear whether he exists since Christ or did he arose in 13th century giving the birth to the legend. I was looking for something or someone who created a very old organization of body mages and now I think I can have him as the founder. Now I need to give them agenda or a reason he found the organization for. All of this (and more) came to me as I was falling asleep yesterday. I usually have those bursts of inspiration when my mind starts to wander (and usually I can't write it down)

I just want to note that the fact that Ciri has a lot of focus should not drive you away; I have only played through first Witcher so I don't know what they did with Ciri but the books are good, period.

Weaknesses, personalities and even powersets themselves are not necessarily connected; Conflux is a rather calm man despite energy being his power. Fortuity is afraid of women (or something like that) yet his power is precognition and exhanced reflexes. Take my words with grain of copper, I haven't read all the books yet.

Sometimes I wish I could fry computers of people I meet online. For example I'd fry flatearthists. Or conspiracy theoretists... OK, not all of them, only the most ridiculous. People who can't argue properly (pet peeve of mine: twisting logic). And so on. ...Now, a question to the Shard: if I became an Epic, would you hunt me down?

Like I said in that other topic: Fanaticism has to be made up of Devotion. And I don't think the other one would be Odium, hate isn't obligatory in being a fanatic.

I got loudspeakers (quite a good ones if I were to believe my dad and I do cause he knows stuff), Promise of Blood by McClellan (read it! Like seriously, go read it), Deadpool (film), Blade Runner (book) and some cash. There's a story or two there: My mother usually steals books from me. So I feed her the good stuff (like cosmere). Anyway, my parents kept bugging me about my list of presents for weeks and when I told them I'd want some of the Dresden Files or the Manuscript found in dragon's cave (it's a fantasy encyclopedic compendium by Sapkowski, author of the Witcher) they told me it's pathetic (it was not serious, we joke like that). In return I told them that their lists are also pathetic; like, dad, seriously, two music albums? we always buy you music. Mom's was worse, like "good book, you know what I like" or a good music or a handbag (which we keep giving her for Christmas). So I went and started thinking hard and added Superhot to the list and first volume of Sandman. Meanwhile I did some research and proposed to buy mom Promise of Blood. Did not work out but then it turned out that my aunt could not get Wise Man's Fear... so I said Promise of Blood would be fine. So I ended up with something I wanted to buy for mom. And now, for the punchline: my parents have already bought me loudspeakers even before they started nagging me for my list. They kept bugging me just for sport, all that time. Nobody in my family is normal

How about Brian McClellan? The Powder Mage trilogy? I just started the first book and Almighty above, I am hooked. And it's very much like Sanderson.

Anyway exercise is not helpful in getting asleep - it gets the blood flowing. I actually do some pull-ups when I need to stay awake.

I'm not sure I'm prepared well enough but also I'm not sure whether it's actually possible to be completely prepared. Let's see whether I will survive that class... (stress levels are over 9000, I have to say) EDIT: Aaaand I failed. That's the second time I'm failing that course (although this time I got further). I think I need to rethink my life. Like, seriously. I'll tell my family in three weeks, that's where I'd have another class. I wouldn't make it through Christmass with them going all over this.

I've read but you cannot really protect someone from old age or protect them from their illness. Also, in Eragon it was because wording allowed for that and magic worked mindlessly to fulfill that but in cosmere intent of the Awakener would kick in - when you think of protecting you don't think about illnesses and stuff...
