  1. Sel: a person who is a child of people from two different countries with two different magics. And is living on the border of these countries and considers both as their homeland. Would such person be able to access both magics?
  2. Yep! That day I've seen that template used on a Game of Thrones FB page and I thought that totally describes Cosmere and I made it!
  3. ...how did you find it? I mean, you couldn't have found it at the original source since it's page 72 of this thread where I made it; tell me, have this meme spread through internets then?
  4. You're saying this as if this wasn't one of the most spectacular things to achieve.
  5. Yay, another Munchkin! High-five! BTW, I'm flabbergasted as to why my post on the previous page was downvoted
  6. Maybe something about Khriss or Silverlight (although Silverlight is long by itself...). Khriss's notes? Notes of Khriss? Meh.
  7. Now I can publically hype about this - I hope it will render my WoB Stack Exchange obsolete As for the name... it has to be something fandom related. It has to be simple, so that we avoid misspellings. It shouldn't be too long or too many words. It should reference gathering of knowledge or libraries or archives... Unfortunately Coppermind is taken. If we want to keep in the theme, we could name it Tinmind (as it has to do with transcribing, so hearing -> sight). There are groups dedicated to gathering knowledge: Worldbringers from Scadrial and Worldsingers from Roshar. There are also Veristitalians but as I had to look up the spellings it's immediately out. There were also Keepers, but they used copperminds, so it would have to be Keeper's metalmind or Keepermind. These are not really good names. Stormwardens are better, since they reference Stormlight Archive with the "storm" in their name... however, all these groups are hard to convert into suitable name for database, as it would be awkward to use: "I can't find that WoB on stormwardens." "Did you check worldbringers?" etc. The name has to be a thing, not a person. Ars Arcanum is a bad choice due to the confusion of the in-world Ars Arcanum and trying to play on the name will probably create confusions with Arcanum Unbounded... The nobles had their Keeps... like Keep Venture or Keep Hasting... we could play on that like 'Keep Ardent' or something. Or we could keep the reference to theoryland and name it ardentland. But this name is clunky. Well, I'll keep thinking on this.
  8. Finally I can publicly hype about it.
  9. @Briar King, the games happen after the end of the book series (and are considered alternate continuity by the author). Just heads up. If anyone wants to check out the books, here's a guide: First off, two short story collections that introduce major characters of the Witcher Saga: The Last Wish (despite being published after Sword of Destiny, it contains the first Witcher stories ans should be read first) Sword of Destiny (introduces another main character and directly precedes the events of the Blood of the Elves) Witcher Saga: Blood of the Elves Time of Contempt Baptism of Fire The Tower of the Swallow Lady of the Lake The short story collections are not prequels; they were written and published first and only after them the pentalogy was written. The quote that accompanied the Netflix announcement (" Later, it was said the man came from the north, from Ropers Gate.") is the first sentence of the first story (which can be found in The Last Wish).
  10. That's not the question to ask me - the quote box in my post comes from @Rasarr's post.
  11. Yup, I'll add it to my list of things to watch if I ever find gold in my backyard (because there's so many things to watch and I already have little time, so...yeah).
  12. My parents are watching some of the old episodes and from waht I've caught... how much is Gravity Falls like Twin Peaks? Weirdness definitely checks out
  13. Enter the Gungeon. Bought it two days ago, played for 16 hours total. It's on sale till Monday. It's a roguelike/bullet-hell with references to everything.
  14. I mean, lighstaber is much more civilised weapon than wooden bludgeon
  15. Hey, I made up Shardscalpel long before I've come to know about Shardfork! I was thinking about Hemalurgy for my Complementing Powers thread (I really need to update it...) and Shardscalpel jumped out to me like something that could make Hemalurgy more civilised.
  16. Hemalurgy is... okay, it's like making chimaeras from FMA. You're combining different organisms into one. But that still isn't genetic engineering. Hemalurgy can't cut the Spiritweb, it rips it. Although I have a theory that it could be much less traumatic for the donor if you used a Shardscalpel. It still doesn't splice sDNA.
  17. Nah. Hemalurgy is more of spiritual transplantation than genetic engineering. You're not modificating the sDNA, you're ripping of parts of Spiritweb and stapling them into someone. It's like as if I decided I need another heart, ripped out yours and then implanted that in my body. You can't really fiddle around with genes with Hemalurgy. Maybe Ire are advanced enough to do it; right now we have only two magic systems working with the Spiritual Realm and those are Hemalurgy and Forgery and none of them does the thing.
  18. Yeah, Scadrial's comicbooks won't be superheros but westerns instead because they already have superpowers. Like in Watchmen pirates comicbooks were the thing. I wonder who their Tolkien is gonna be (Slowswift doesn't count) and what he's gonna write...
  19. Actually the treatment consists of both wearing corrective glasses and eye exercise (with the mentioned eye patch). And surgery does not remove the need to wear glasses (that's why I decided against it). ----------------------------------- But on another note, I realized that there are literally alien conspiracies on Roshar (with alien being a being that is not from this planet). They have shadowy organizations of reptilians non-human people spying on everyone. They have cultists trying to take over the world. The got fanatics trying to bring about Apocalypse. They got an ancient organization of divine people hunting down other supernatural people. The devil is literally watching and influencing them. Their god is really dead. And if Sazed ever decides to send significant amounts of kandra to Roshar, then we have the Invasion of the Body Snatchers
  20. Yeah, but the message I want the MAG to receive is "anything by Brandon Sanderson you translate will sell, and will sell well". They got the rights to Rithmatist, I want them to do Rithmatist.
  21. Is this when one of your eyes is not straight? Because if that's what it is, then being someone with lazy eye for decades, I can tell you that wearing glasses: Makes it invisible Makes your vision straight EDIT: I read up on wikipedia and it seems that's what I have. Description of the treatment checks out.
  22. How far can a Dysian Aimian spread? If one bonded a Shardblade and summoned it, where would it appear? Could he choose where it would appear?
  23. Is the "lazy eye" what you call this? If yes... why isn't that guy wearing glasses?
  24. We just need stuff to have Brandon sign it. This time I'm waiting for the Polish release - if I feel I need to read it, I have the prose...
  25. It's possible. Actually it's impossible to disprove unless Brandon says so. Therefore we won't concern ourselves with definite proof and instead we are forced to operate in the field of maybe. Szeth's post-resurection conversation with Nale implies Stone Shamans use the Honorblades (for example Regrowth). Futhermore, we do not know when Nale reclaimed his - when Szeth talks with Taravangian, he speaks about "other seven Honorblades" (Jezrien's is with Szeth, Taln's was never there to begin with which leaves one more Honorblade unaccounted for - that's Nale's Honorblade). Now, I was going somewhere with this... Anyway, I think Stone Shamans would have noticed. If they use the Blades, they must have bonded them; swapping one out in such situation without them noticing is impossible. Also, what's a better way to keep a Blade safe, to prevent it being stolen than bonding it? Even if thief somehow makes it to the vault or something with the Blades, all you need to do is to summon it back (as Dalinar cleverly did).
