Did you see the chronology I put together? It's a bit more extensive
-
Here we go folks: I've made that topic six minutes after Brandon posted the update at reddit. Some say it's coincidence, some say it's fate, some try to spike me for Feruchemical chromium, I say I'm a bit fanatical at checking Brandon's reddit account.

My recent diggings for chronology make me all the more excited for the new Archive. I searched for chronology and half of that stuff was WoT so I thought I'd just go ctrl+f "cosmere" since cosmere WoBs would be tagged with "cosmere"? Nope. Turns out some had like only two tags: "chronology" and "stormlight archive"

Translating took very little time. It was the WoB digging that took hours. Thanks I'm not sure about the Warbreaker one. Maybe this but it's oooold No, I have both of these linked already. The SA gap WoB I'm looking for is one that says about 20 years (or perhaps it says it's "10-20 years" or "15-20 years" or anything of the sort). I'm not sure about the Warbreaker one, it could have been something I derived from other WoBs. I'll go dig in Pagerunner's Reddit WoB database and see what else I can find.

Do you happen to remember which annotations is that in?

Some time ago I've put together a timeline of books. I've decided to translate it to English and post it with sources, so I went and searched for the WoBs to put them in the timeline. I haven't found all of those I was using at the time (see the end of this post) but I've also found some I haven't seen before, so... profit? Enjoy. Order of series: Dragonsteel White Sand Elantris Mistborn First Era Warbreaker Stormlight Archive (first pentalogy) Mistborn Second Era Stormlight Archive (second pentalogy) Mistborn Third Era Mistborn Fourth Era ------------------------------------------- Order of the books: (Entries not bolded have not been released yet) Dragonsteel White Sand (before Elantris) Elantris & Hope of Elantris (long before Mistborn First Era, but not thousands of years) Emperor’s Soul (technology didn’t change since Elantris so probably not much more than decades #2) Eleventh Metal The Final Empire Well of Ascension Hero of Ages (341 years before Alloy of Law) Warbreaker (closer than farther to Way of Kings) (between HoA and WoK #1 #2 #3) Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell (in the latter part of timeline but before Way Of Kings: #1 #2, and FAQ – if it’s correct – says it’s after Warbreaker) Nightblood (we don’t know whether it’s after Shadows for Silence..., but it’s before Stormlight Archive) Way of Kings (happens 300ish years after Hero Of Ages) Words of Radiance Edgedancer Oathbringer Stormlight Archive, book four (Rhythm of War) Stormlight Archive, book five (about 15 years before Stormlight 6 but the gap may as well be 10 or 20 years #1 #2 #3 #4) Alloy of Law (341 years after Hero Of Ages)(it’s after Stormlight 5 but we don’t know if it’s before Stormlight 6. It could also be after Stormlight 7.) Shadows of Self (year after Alloy of Law) Bands of Mourning (half a year after Shadows of Self) Lost Metal Stormlight Archive, book six (about 15 years after Stormlight 5) Stormlight Archive, book seven Stormlight Archive, book eight Stormlight Archive, book nine Stormlight Archive, book ten Mistborn Third Era (modern times, around 80s)(probably roughly about 50 years after Second Era) Sixth of the Dusk (just before Mistborn Fourth Era #1) Mistborn Fourth Era (sci-fi) ------------------------------------------- WoBs I cannot find now but I'm sure they exist since when I was putting together this timeline I was strictly going off only WoBs: the gap between Stormlight 5 and 6 could be 20 years (specifically 20 years, 10 and 15 I have sourced already) Warbreaker being closer than farther to Way of Kings

Anybody read Craft Sequence by Gladstone? Is it any good?

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Oversleep replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
My heart banners are on one of the memes in Sanderson memes and some related to my trolling on Brandon's request... I think I had some more but there's no way to sort by upvotes :| -
I just searched for "nazh" on theoryland which turned up just 17 WoBs. Not that much to go through. EDIT: To the downvoting people: it was meant to explain I do not have eidetic memory and that it was really simple to do and meant to convey that praising me for doing such a simple thing feels weird. It was not a jab at Zmann or anyone. Thank you for your attention.

I'm not sure I know what that means Unless you were working on a ship, then I understood everything perfectly -
Two things about that list: Just because rights were bought it doesn't mean the publisher would do something with it. Sometimes they don't and they lose rights (but of course with a big name like Sanderson it's very unlikely - big name means money). Also they may have bought the rights but have not yet done anything about it, that depends on the deal they made. For example Rithmatist was sold to Polish publisher quite a time ago (I remember looking it up last year) but so far they are busy with other books and the earliest Rithmatist could be done is somewhere in the middle of 2018. Second: that list is not necessarily up to date. White Sand was translated and published in Poland three months ago, yet the entry for Polish rights is not listed (the same thing with Calamity).

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Oversleep replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
damnation, that's impressive. -
WoB was about comparing Nightblood to Shardblade. There was something about light smoke going up (Stormlight) in opposition to NIghtblood smoke and that Shardblades are unnaturaly light while Nightblood is unnaturale heavy.

@The One Who Connects I believe Nightblood is unnaturally heavy.

Haliax would probably give a lot to be able to sleep. Or forget. Or to go insane. Or die. -
And yet I'm also here instead of cramming for the test. I literally don't have the luxury to fail and I've got six hours left before I'd usually wake up.

Me too. I just imagine it as sort of springs.

Nope, he's not.

Sounds like fun times. *remembers Brandon isn't probably going back to Poland anytime soon *

Unmaking the Canon - a resource for theorists
Oversleep replied to Extesian's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Actually it's @Botanica who first posted that collection. I have no idea where she dug up that from. Truth be told, the idea that there are some transcripts floating on the web that did not find their way to theoryland scares me. -

Actually it's coming from a glitch in the Matrix when some people including me saw a WoB like that on reddit but it clearly never existed (or perhaps got deleted). -
Yeah, I see it like... like Feruchemy. You can draw lots of Investiture from ironmind but you won't get (probably) more Invested, only much heavier. The metal in question doesn't get much Investiture from the stamp, however there is a lot of Investiture used up to maintain the change.
