  1. That's not how it works (or at least we have no evidence of Hemalurgic Decay affecting tapping efficiency). The WoB you linked only says that they lose a bit while storing. So if we had a natural Feruchemist and one with Hemalurgically granted Feruchemy, and if they spend the same amount of time storing at the same rate, the Hemalurgist's metalmind would contain less attribute than the natural Feruchemist's.
  2. If there was suddenly a new nation emerging on Sel, would they get their own magic system? What if an already existing country divided into two? What if two countries merged? What if there was some worldhopper exodus to Sel (like Iriali to Roshar)? If they set up their own country, would it have its own magic?
  3. Those are tropes. There is nothing inherently wrong with those tropes. It's kind of cultural convergence.
  4. While not related to the writing schedule, I managed to get something else out of him: source (I don't know how to quote stuff from reddit)
  5. I speculate that a Shard has to Invest in Scadrial for its godmetal to be usable in Metallic Arts; that's just my assumption. However, Allomancer would still need some tie to that type of Investiture; ever since I discovered that WoB I wonder whether a Radiant Mistborn could try to burn part of his Shardplate (because burning his spren is atrocious). But Hemalurgy is really an oddball across cosmere: anyone can use it on anyone. Maybe this means godmetals can be used as spikes regardless of whether it's Scadrian godmetal? On the other hand, we know that if a metal is usable in any of Metallic Arts, it's usable in all of them: So if we take that to be absolutely true (keep in mind this was 2008) even for godmetals, then trellium would be usable by Allomancers and Feruchemists. Here's another relevant WoB: Here's an interesting WoB about godmetals: Yeah, Harmony is the only Shard on Scadrial as of SoS: But maybe Trell just sneakily Invested a little but it's not really on Scadrial? That's a theory. Also, Harmony is whole: I don't recall more WoBs at the moment, sorry
  6. No, you couldn't. Probably Shard needs to Invest into Scadrial for its godmetal to be usable in Metallic Arts.
  7. I wish I could make clones with shared mind just so I could direct them to absorb popculture. I mean, Worm is longer than all of Harry Potter? Doctor Who has how many episodes?
  8. Additional praise for @Extesian should be added for his help with transcriptions
  9. ... that's ridiculous. Are you seriously suggesting that not keeping out Bad Words™ implies not spending time on characters or worldbuilding? Are you seriously saying that people using words all people use make a book 'edgy'? Oh, and figuring out the way people curse is part of building a culture and therefore part of worldbuilding; religion-derived curses are one thing that Brandon does well (Almighty! Rust and Ruin! Storms! etc) but all the rest... not so much. I do know it's his personal choice, it just strikes me as odd that you seem to think that making people never use Bad Words™ makes for better worldbuilding.
  10. Bronze detects Kinetic Investiture. Which means - probably - active flow of Investiture. You can't detect metalmind or a spike or Returned because power just sits there.
  11. When I tried to come up with questions to ask Brian McClellan it was significantly easier when I started thinking Realmatically. So, yeah, that's a thing. And it works.
  12. I've reread Warbreaker fairly recently and I don't recall such quote. There is a bit about Breath flickering and colors fluctuating when person is dying (see Lemex passing away) but that's all.
  13. That's more of a jab at that thief Edison. You know, the one who supposedly "invented" lightbulb. It's probably not a coincidence that "Tarcsel" resembles "Tesla".
  14. Lift metabolizes food into Stormlight. Metal - no matter how magical - is not food. So nothing would happen. No Hemalurgy needed. You can share unkeyed metalminds so that one person stores and another taps.
  15. Wisdom of the Heralds.
  16. Dogs dying of sickness won't cause an uproar and books about serial dog-killer won't be picked up by people who care about dogs dying. It needs to be more stealthy than serial dog killer.
  17. Possibly that exchange has happened before and Ruin already knew how Zane would react to such words.
  18. She used duralumin. Also, it was not a coin, it was her earring. Hero Of Ages, Chapter 65, check for yourself. ... except when you have cremtone of healing stored up you can use it how quickly you want. In normal circumstances people don't blow dynamite in their faces because they have some healing stored up.
  19. You may want to read that part again. The coin was shot through opened mouth. Yeah, it seemed to take forever because he was lying there with broken bones in the middle of a duel. This doesn't make the fact that he managed to heal it up in time it took a man in Shardplate get up. That was a hit that would kill a normal man. His jaw was probably broken; yet he healed it up enough it be able to speak. Also, his powers were from Honorblade which is less efficient than Nahel bond. Save for Compounding or shared unkeyed goldmind, all instances of Feruchemical gold healing were much slower than Stormlight.
  20. You've got it backwards. Kaladin broke all bones in both of his legs and managed to heal them in time it took a Shardbearer to get up. No mention of large amount of Stormlight spent. Now, if you compare it with various Feruchemical gold healings... You need duralumin Steelpush to pierce the skull and even then such wound it's not guaranteed to be fatal. Furthermore, with Stormlight healing it probably won't be. By Ivory, you can kill someone holding Stormlight only by completely crushing the head.
  21. ...and where are you getting that from?
  22. In fact, the true confirmation was at Ad Astra event: But shotout to @Kurkistan is in order since I have read about his theory that she is the nurse, so while I didn't recall it specifically at the time, my shot was not entirely mine
  23. And... what is it that you want explained? I mean, if you make a table of truth, you can see why is that working:
  24. Is this about the boolean algebra laws?
  25. They do, I just don't remember when. Perhaps at the ball in SoS?
