  1. Yeah, I know. That's why I'm wondering what would be the back five prologue event. The front five is the Gavilar's assassination which is an important event from which many plotlines stem. The back five could be an even more important one, namely Herald's deciding to walk away from their Blades and leaving Taln alone.
  2. Back five prologues: Perhaps Heralds viewpoints of the Prelude? So far we had Kalak's perpsective on walking away from the Oathpact.
  3. I don't have *time* for so many so big books. To put it in Cosmere terms: I don't have time to read Elantris just because Galladon shows up for one scene in Way of Kings. However, I will read Warbreaker before Words of Radiance.
  4. That's holding a fraction of Shard. That's not what I meant. Directly fueling magic is like Vin burning mists or Vin fueling Elend's Allomancy even when he run out of metals. We know it's something Shards are hesitant to do.
  5. Spiritweb itself is a subgraph of the graph that is the Spiritual Realm. I think that leaves would be their own entities belonging into the "tree" collection. It basically depends on human perception anyway. Is there representation for sand or for every grain of sand? Well, we see sand as "one thing" but then we could separate it if we look closer. tl;dr: Everything is a collection of something else. The basic building block, the atom of Spiritual, is Investiture.
  6. No, it had not "always been the plan"; there were no firm confirmations until now.
  7. I was right! (source)
  8. OK, is anyone here a fan of King's Dark Tower? I'd want to give it a try someday but from what I've heard there are some crossovers with other books and I wonder how big are they and what I would need to read. Please explain by comparing it with Cosmere crossovers to help me understand
  9. It's probably possible to separate lerasium from the alloy. Yes. If you burn more lerasium you become more powerful. You gain a second power.
  10. Or Brandon just likes this phrase but is conscious about using it, so when it shows up it was intentional?
  11. wait, what? Who in their right mind would call Amaram honorable if they knew what he did?
  12. Hmmm.... How about Hoid and King's Wit from Stormlight Archive? Heheheh That would be worth reading!
  13. It's about Inquisitors IIRC. Anyway, I do remember such WoB but it was about spiritweb damage, not necessarily mental instability. Ping me when you find it
  14. I wonder how serious the dissection of the 17thShard is. I don't venture into RP, roleplayers are rarely seen in the WoB-related areas...
  15. Does it mean Ruin could fuel some non-Scadrian magic if it was stolen Hemalurgically...?
  16. I still don't know why Kelsier said that. I mean, the moment somebody starts describing him, all of the North will be like "SURVIVOR?!". His trademark scars are... well, trademark. Kelsier was not a king at any given moment, so if he said that he wanted to spread short-live misdirection in the North he was actually TLR. Or... maybe we're overthinking it, as we always are? Maybe he said that to give himself more authority and power? "I was a king and god and everybody loved me and they gave me their most beatiful women and - yeah, it would be nice if you did that too - and I had a throne as big as a mountain...". Just classical Kelsier.
  17. And, like Calderis said, Mistborn annotations speak of Hemalurgy being of Ruin.
  18. IIRC Rosharan minute is indeed shorter but don't quote me on that. Also, I think that converting Rosharan age to Earth age is meaningless - Rosharans would be used to (or perhaps adapted to) their day and year cycle.
  19. Since you seem to have an English copy nearby, please quote the entire paragraph. Alltogether it's something like "some of them got what they wanted. Most of them regretted the curse, except for my father. He got a heap of good cloth; sold to keep us from starving during the lurnip famine a few decades ago." Now how does it sound? Where some of them got what they wanted and he got a heap of good cloth? Why is there any ambiguity about what was it that Nightwatcher gave him? (Except for the immortal "it's secondhand") You misread that WoB. When somebody asks Brandon about stuff like "possible" or "limited in any manner" he gladly takes the loophole. It's possible for us to turn lead into gold. Are they limited in any manner? That can mean as little as that Nightwatcher can't reform Adonalsium at wish. That's a limit. That WoB means next to nothing.
  20. That's my understanding. TenSoon was able to use OreSeur's because he already had his own.
  21. How about you go and read in the book? It's said that his father got the cloth which he later sold.
  22. Okay. We completely misunderstood each other. You're talking of the fight when Vin killed Shan and I though of the one when she was imprisoned in Kredik Shaw. Now it makes sense.
  23. I'll come up with something better tomorrow. Have you ever heard the wisdom of the Heralds? I thought not. It's not something ardentia would tell you. It's a Radiant Legend...
