Or maybe Dustbringers have to realise difference between bravery (recklessness?) and courage. To know that it's not about not feeling fear, but overcoming it, embracing it. First you have to be able to act even when scared, then you have to accept fear as part of life. "I will do what has to be done, no matter how much I fear it" "I will accept the fear, but I will not be controlled by it"

It is? Wouldn't most of the Aon just not work if drawn wrong? Oh, I remember something about misdrawn healing Aon. On the other hand, Allomancers may even kill themselves why burning bad alloys.

theory Thoughts about Enhancement metals
Oversleep replied to Eagle of the Forest Path's topic in Mistborn
I will look for annotations then. Aluminium is not that useless, suppose you try a new allomantic shop and you're not sure if they have good quality alloys or maybe you are afraid that somebody switched your vial with another with very bad alloys in it which could kill you. So first you swallow aluminium, then another metal and if you realise it's a bad alloy, you just burn aluminium to not only get rid of it, but also to cleanse yourself from it's effects. It was stated that it's what aluminium does. Well, chromium would be better, but I suppose TLR didn't want to give his Inquisitors a weapon which could get used against him. -
Aww, what a perfect Theoryweaver I imagine asking Brandon about how he regards a block on cheese and he getting like 'You are on to something. RAFO' and then all theories breaking loose with 'Unified Theory of Cheese and dairy products' and 'Importance of supplying calcium reserves in regard to Investiture' and of course 'Hoid is a cheesemaker!' But back on duralumin, nothing comes to my mind. It is helpful in hacking access to resident magic systems, but since you can't store 100%, your connection to other place would still interfere. It just gets easier to do whatever needs to be done.

Too little to make it into a theory and I couldn't find any topic on worlhopping:

Well, it's a topic about Hemalurgy, it's kind of hard not to stink of the Alley. And Dark Alley is bound to see this for exactly this reason. Can't be helped.

The Skybreakers: they fall from the sky and break everything in their way! Join them now! The Skybreakers personify the very concept of inevitability of punishment. You cannot run away from Skybreaker, he will fly after you. You cannot hide from Skybreaker by retreating into fortress - he would simply Lash himself in its direction and destroy everything in his way. He is the law. Also they would make some pretty Ground-Shattering Landings

Well, as the holder of the Blade of Theoryshapers I extrapolated it upon Hemalurgical spikes needing to came in contact with flowing blood, but the part of them being made of allomantic metals allowing to steal specific traits may work only on Scadrial. Seems like colours with them having to do with Awakening is a safe guess to be defining what can spikes steal on Nalthis. But I have to wonder what can exactly be stolen on Nalthis? Apart from all these human traits, you can pretty much steal only Breaths, there are no specific abilities about Awakening. Breaths are Breaths, there is no difference between them.

Um... Thanks? I was aiming to make people to have something to think about instead of producing another theory. But PM me if my wording was unclear somewhere or something wasn't explained enough.

I am glad to see ranks of Theoryweavers increase! At this point we'd have to wait for more Theoryweavers to show up and look for what they will swear as they would be progressing to test your Theory. I like the first two Oaths, but at the same time the third and the fourth while they have some merit to them, doesn't fit as well. We have to wait for more evidence. Well, that would be the dominant theory for Theorybinders' sprens for now. I suppose Bonrel is Stromgate's spren.

Nice, if that turns out to be true it can back my claim to Mistings being able to burn their metals' godmetal alloys.

Where's WalDo: The Kandra Worldhopper
Oversleep replied to Kobold King's topic in Cosmere Discussion
But Ruin's system still had 16 base metals. It could be that 16 was dominant number for Scadrial, as is ten for Roshar. -
I have seen your oaths, thus I knew you joined. But what did you change your mind about?

Yeah, but dust explosion occurs when dust is flammable. Dustabringers are said to be able set rocks on fire. I cannot wait these long, long years to have their abilities explained in scientific scientifish way. Unless we get some Dustbringer soon! This image is so cool I cannot get it out of my mind. Dustbringer sliding in, grabbing the Thunderclast and dragging it through all the battlefield, crashing through Voidbringers while burning the beast. Such coolness potential.

Well, I understand that the formula 'magic comes back' and 'teaching new user' are necessary for now, but I'd love to see how magic blends in with more 'normal' settings. For SA, it would be not how new Surgebinders emerge, but how Orders worked together, the hierarchy and specific customs and rituals in Orders, how was it to be in Order... What were their traditions and how they'd train newbies instead of newbies having to figure everything out on their own, how hard was it to explain somebody how to use Surges 'Listen, now concentrate and imagine really hard that this direction is 'down' for you now... Okay, I understand it's not easy, try again... What do you mean it's stupid?!' Did they have shifts, patrols, did they write reports and so on. For Mistborn, the original trilogy may not be a good example for this, since Mistborn were practically assassins... But modern trilogy looks perfect for that! Imagine team sports for Metalborn (like quidditch or pro-bending from Avatar), allomantic SWAT teams to deal with rogue Metalborn , allomantic breakfast cereals, the rules for Metalborn in schools like against Pulsers burning cadmium to speed up boring classes, how would Soothers and Rioters be treated, would Ferrings be allowed to use their zincminds or copperminds on exams and so on. How would airports prevent terrorist Brutes or Bloodmakers? Would they ban specific metalminds on-board? How would they prevent against Pewterarms sneaking in pewter in their cellphones or watches and so on? Would there be some Civil War about registrating superheroes Metalborn? Would there be some Pulser system for Sliders to catch up with their age? Would somebody investigate Iron Compounding Based Perpetuum Mobile? I can't think of anything for Nalthis, but for Sel I think we will get it back. Back, since Reod ruined everything, but now they would be right on track with research and stuff. Your ideas?

Oversleep! Get your head out of the Dark Alley! You mean that DA people figured it out already?

You may say I overslept... *ba dum tss* I wrote it and posted it, but switched to another tab without closing this one. Some time later I returned to it and thought I haven't posted it. The third time may be similar, or maybe I clicked 'post' two times, I am not sure. As for immortality (or extreme longevity), compounding atium sounds good, since near-unlimited youth and allomantic atium is awesome, period. 5th heightening sounds good, but only the normal way, being Returned is bad, since you have your mind wiped, have to die first and consuming Breaths would be a pain in the chull, unless worldhopping to Roshar. And Roshar has this thing with Apocalypse going on and there is no Stormlight on Weeping.

theory Thoughts about Enhancement metals
Oversleep replied to Eagle of the Forest Path's topic in Mistborn
It looks like a good topic to ask this question: Why burning aluminium destroys all of the metal swallowed, but burning duraluminium superflares only those burning at the time? -
The Theorybreaker in me wants to point out that building on theories of others is probably a Theorycaller thing, searching WoBs is more of Theorydancers. First and fourth fit Theoryweavers. Nice theory overall, but I would throw in something about

When I first heard of Nicrosil Compounders, I immediately pictured some breathing in Stormlight, compounding, and again and again... Some kind of recharge station for Radiants. Like there is some huge battle and Nicrosil Compounders are sitting by medical tents to provide endless supply for those fighting. But your idea is even better, since Breath is so rare in comparision to Stormlight.

I call colour based spikes on Nalthis.
