  1. It's something about raising sugar levels or just replenishing energy... or something. Why would you even think about Hemalurgical spikes in cookies if a moment earlier you voluntarily let yourself be spiked? What did you think those so-called "blood donations" really are? It's obvious that they're secretly spiking us. Wake up, sheeple!
  2. We need to rethink the conditions, because it is getting silly. We have no idea what the Roshar we'll be like a the time period AoL is in. On the other hand, Scadrial at the time period WoK is in is rather... well, quite a few years BEFORE AoL starts. So I'm not even sure Scadrial would have electricity already.
  3. You're so right. Almighty, you're so right. We either have Roshar on the beginning of WoK versus Scadrial few years before AoL OR we have Roshar at the end of Book Five versus Scadrial at the AoL. I imagine quite a lot Radiants running around at that time and Brandon knows what else. We have Scadrial at the very beginning of electrification (or even before it!) versus current Roshar or Scadrial at "now" versus Roshar at largely unknown state.
  4. When there's some donate-blood-action and inevitably someone asks me if I'll donate... I always keep a super-serious face, look in the distance just a little behind the person asking and answer "I can't. My blood is contaminated." The truth is, I'm currently taking anti-allergy shots and I can't donate blood XD But the jokes... I could never let down a good opportunity to joke
  5. No, I don't mean that. Hm... How come people can't remember how your name is spelled if you first introduce yourself? They shouldn't have problems with spelling if they hear the correct version first! I meant more like "The third letter is pronounced like 'y'". I wouldn't dare to suggest writing your name incorrectly - I myself sometimes feel like second-grade citizen when computer systems have trouble with my name. First they tell me to name the file with my first and last name and then they have problems because my last name has Polish letters? For additional hilarity, that mentioned computer system is in Poland. TECHNICAL University. Department? IT XD The shoemaker's children are truly ill-shod XD
  6. What would Jasnah think of Pathism? Can radioactive elements be Soulcast? If yes, could an Elsecaller teleport in the middle of Voidbringer army, Soulcast a rock or two into pure uranium 238 or something like that and Elsecall away?
  7. Maybe 17th Shard knows how to rewrite Spiritual Aspect? Maybe they just mess with the age written in your soul?
  8. When I was writing the article about White Sand for Polish fansite I did point that out. Cause I did my research ...Well, actually, do we have confirmation that Taldain is tidally locked with its star or is it not moving at all? Probably the former, as a planet staying in place would require huge amounts of Shardic Intervention not to fall into the sun, but still...
  9. TODAY CAME THE FIRST HIGHSTORM OF THE YEAR! I'm just sitting and watching lightnings XD
  10. Well, I just use English equivalent of my name. "Jack" sounds cool Pestis, does spelling it like "Maya" helps? Or just claim you're from Roshar and that "j" is spelled like "y" Czajkowski? Please. Try this.
  11. I doubt Reen would had even known what Snapping is. Remember, back in the Final Empire, most skaa didn't know a thing about Allomancy (with the exception of Allomantic thieving groups and, to a lesser extent, regular thiefs)
  12. It could also belong into SoS forum. We don't know what the BrightVoid's Intent was... maybe he didn't read BoM yet?
  13. Well, there are many unsolved ciphers... but I'm also looking for entertainment in a more traditional way. Cracking codes is fun and all, but Truth Glyphs wouldn't be as entertaining if it weren't for the story of Assassins and Templars. Cracking Diagram was fun, but what gave it meaning was the story of the Stormlight Archive. And so on.
  14. The problem I see is that... Well, cracks in the soul get filled, right? When something traumatic happens, your soul cracks (on Scadrial known as Snapping; Radiants being broken). This lets Investiture flow in; on Scadrial (and if you're of Allomantic blood) Preservation fills these cracks, making you an Allomancer. On Roshar, this makes a place for Nahel bond to form; spren fills that crack. The problem is, if you have your cracks already filled, there is no place for more Investiture. So if your soul is patched with Preservation's Investiture, you don't have any place for a spren.
  15. There... there is? While I found Kingkiller Chronicles awesome, I didn't find many clues... I mean, the skindancer in the first book drops "Rhintae" which probably means "Chandrian", so there was a theory that Kvothe is a Chandrian and his sign is silence; and also there's the story about how the Moon was stolen from different accounts, so there's something about Iax; and there are those three greystones which form an arch; "doors of stone" are also mentioned few times... and that's all. But all of that is mainly speculation, while I'm looking for something more of puzzles - one day I'll try to break Alethi script (I know it has already been done; I just want a challenge), but first I need to crack Steel Alphabet. If I can do that, we will know what exactly atium and lerasium and harmonium symbols mean.
  16. I figure my plan for the next year is to get a year off to catch up on everything I failed (cause I can't imagine doing a normal year AND retaking the courses I failed last semester). Maybe I could find some job or practices (not sure about the term, it's like a job but for students and they train you). I could earn some money to pay for the courses - not that I am desperate or my parents wouldn't help me, but it certainly would be nice.
  17. So, between playing Assassin's Creed and loving Truth puzzles, cracking Diagram code, hunting for cosmere hints, trying to break Steel Alphabet and recently having started watching Gravity Falls, I realized I like such challenges. So I'm looking for something, be it book, game, anime, cartoon, TV series or whatever, which has some background ciphers/cryptics/codes. Or just something I can rack my head over. Note, I don't mean mystery/detective story stuff(not that I have something against it) but something good which also has that cryptic part. Help me. P.S. I heard about Endgame books, but I gave a flick through it and was not immediately amazed, so... Are they good? EDIT: I also don't mind convoluted, mystery plots.
  18. Or maybe his children joined the Inquisition?
  19. Nice! Aon for math... interesting. But if there is an Aon for "definition"...which let's you assign meaning... MUAHAHAHAHAHA! UNLIMITED POWER! because assembler and higher level languages and instant casting...
  20. I realized I am gonna fail something this semester. No way I can get out of this hole... Time for damage control. Let's see what can I salvage and what will have to go... While my wallet gently weeps (cause normally university is free and if you're retaking something you gotta pay)
  21. For Almighty's sake, I wanted to post it! It's pure upvote magnes! BTW, I asked my friend who watches Adventure Time whether he watches Gravity Falls. He said no. Today I log into my Facebook to see that: Now I'm on episode 7 and he's on 15 :| Edit: I'm sad that I can't properly get a chance at cracking Gravity Falls mysteries... It would be like trying to theorize who the Hero Of Ages is when everybody else has already read up to Alloy Of Law. If I try snuffing around on the internet, I'm gonna end up reading spoilers. I'd hate that... but at the same time, in the freeze-frame bonus in the intro I saw stormrusting geometric transformation matrices. Well played... well played. Maybe I should just watch it all? But then everything will be explained in the show! Rust and Ruin! Edit2: This is my 1000th post (rep: 450, King's Tester)! Celebrate! 1000 posts in 4,5 months... nice
  22. Actually, there are 10 types of people: those who understand binary those who don't
  23. You could argue that DakHor makes the victim Snap (in fatal manner) which results in energy burst.
  24. Hm... The way I see it, duraluminum enhanced nicroburst/chromleech could potentially make the victim get rid of more than the metals in the stomach - remember, an aluminum savant (as unlikely as it can be) could potentially get rid of other Investiture impurities. So you duralumin Leech an Inquisitor and perhaps you could clean his metalminds or even dissolve the spikes (but I suspect you'd need much more power than a simple duralumin burn. Perhaps somebody at TLR's level could do that, or burning mists).
  25. WOW! I never knew that "ametal" turns to "Allomantic metal" and "fmetal" turns to "Feruchemical metal" (CLARIFICATION: where 'metal' is variable for any of the metals)! Cool! It makes life so much easier! The question is... WHY NOBODY INFORMED ME OF THIS? really, we need to do an introductory guide to 17thShard. So that people would know how to do spoilers and we could throw in things like that.
