  1. I might have had different chemistry teacher every year. Wait, no, I think I had six in five years. Or was it seven? Can't really remember. It actually turned out OK, because if the last one was a better teacher, I might have not passed it But since I power-leveled through quantum chemistry and then done some presentation about radioactivity being completely lost on everything else that was during the year I still had a pretty good grade! (If I had a better teacher I'd be in trouble with all the organic stuff) Anyway, @Mistrunner, I feel for you. It's bad when you know more than your teachers about the topic they're supposed to teach.
  2. Oh Almighty, I just imagined that!
  3. First Gravity Falls, now Steven Universe. Why couldn't I have awesome cartoons back in my childhood? (Okay, there was Batman Beyond and W.I.T.C.H. but that's about it)
  4. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Snow White C'ffin wgah'nagl fhtagn. Red Riding Hood, I have no good ideas. What about Beaty and the Beast? She would be a creature who seduces people with her beaty and it devours their minds and then she can control them? Perhaps turning them into monsters (physically or just mentally) (Yeah, Witcher once again, kind of)
  5. It's a meme I already posted here; the image is from the film adaptation of V for Vendetta. The original quote is "Ideas are bulletproof". You should read it or watch it. It's very good.
  6. Didn't he say something which amounts to "they were the answer to help humanity rebuild"? Also, if he were suprisied unpleasantly, he wouldn't leave visions urging to recreate Knights Radiant.
  7. There is a Witcher short story... similar in idea. But I guess it doesn't really fit with the monsters idea, as the whole thing is totally morally ambiguous. It's titled "Lesser evil". Wizards have interpreted a prophecy about something and all the noble-blooded girls born under the Curse of Black Sun were to be monsters. So they started to lock them up in towers. One used her hair to escape and then established a rule of terror with the prince that helped save her. The story concentrates on the Snow White and her band of dwarven mercenaries hunting the wizard that locked her up.
  8. Hm... Year 2116, you have to watch out for traps?
  9. It was from quite an old post, so it was when we considered something else "current". BTW, when you type in google "words of radiance changes" the first result is the correct topic on the Shard. Then the seventh post is the useful one.
  10. Okay. What is this job with this random, fluid, ever-changing schedule?
  11. That depends. There was a list of changes here on the Shard. But it was not official. On the other hand, Polish publisher did release an official list of changes, so I can look up which sentences were changed. EDIT: Those are all changes done to Nalan & Szeth scene.
  12. Nalan still used a fabrial, but he spoke of it as Surgebinding. The mention of him hiding it in his pocket is still there.
  13. That's just Gravitation. It works by creating a bubble imitiating the objects spiritual bond to the ground - simply put, you're making the object pull other things to it. Adhesion is about 'glueing' things together.
  14. That's simple. Can you see that red X in the upper right of the window? It's the only way that works.
  15. I think I nailed down when creativity hits me: mindless, occupying things. The more mechanical, the better. Eating an apple. Unloading a dishwasher. Commuting. It cannot be anything requiring direct thought, like puzzles or anything. Also, Steven Universe made me think of how really can shield warriors useful. I mean, characters who can create shields don't get spotlight or are looked down by the more offensive characters, right? But for example, in a group combat against more numeorus enemies what's better than somebody who can create a bubble and create a ten minutes long break to tend to your wounds or regroup? Not to mention how easy it is to non-lethally contain enemies.
  16. Well, do we know whether atium Mistings would born naturally without Preservation's big plan? Leras did some funky things to defeat Ruin. BTW, I may have been wrong on the 'lerasium and its alloys' thing - after all, anyone can burn it.
  17. Even if the lyrics doesn't make sense to you, there are people who will argue for years over their intended meaning. So even if you printed a random list of words, threw a grenade into it and picked up the shreds, it would still be good.
  18. Nope. We are not sure whether the simple fact that the godmetal exists makes it burnable/tappable. It obviously can be used as a spike, but then anyone on Scadrial can do Hemalurgy while for Allomancy or Feruchemy one has to have specific spiritual genes. And even if Trell did those things Brandon spoke of in that WoB, it would only mean that from this point in time onward Mistborn could burn it (sadly, there are none) or that a Trellium Misting could be born (that it, if godmetal Mistings happen naturally). If a person was born before Trell did those things, it would be impossible for that person to be able to burn it. Now, the Spearhead contains abilities Kelsier had - and he was born way before that whole thing, so his Mistborn abilities are confined to the base sixteen and lerasium and its alloys and atium and its alloys. We do not know where his Feruchemy comes from, but then again it would still be older than Trell's shenaningans. So the Spearhead cannot help in studying trellium
  19. From what I read about DRYH on TVTropes characters do need to sleep. It's just that they really, really shouldn't now that the RPG has started. Actually backstory has to include a reason why your character has been awake longer than usual, langer than anyone should be. Lack of sleep awakens your powers and also makes you aware of the supernatural world around you and you can go to the Mad City which is Dream World/Wonderland/NIghtmare realm/You get that. There are Nightmares hunting for you and when you use your powers your Exhaustion (normal skill you have abnormal level at) or Madness (supernatural skill) goes up. When Exhaution goes all the way up, you fall asleep. And from what I've read in 99% of cases you'd rather want your character killed off than asleep. If your Madness goes all the way up, you turn into Nightmare. I think that you loose then, as character turns into NPC (not sure about that). Madness skills should be more insane than whatever you guys came up with in Reckoners RPG. I think some Talents would qualify (hadn't read Alcatraz, not sure) The goal is to somehow survive all that... Kill off your personal Nightmares or something. @Morzathoth, did I get that right? BTW, that game sounds really fun I even know what name I'd choose!
  20. Pineapple on pizza is abomination Ham gets along well with cheese. Add some tomatoes, onion and probably red pepper and it's all good.
  21. Well, Kaladin stabbed him with Sharddagger when he was trying to reach the spine but Szeth managed to escape before his backbone was cut. So he still was stabbed in the stomach, deeply.
  22. Could you specify what the density of the Shard-material is? I mean, we know that Shardblades are about 2-3 times lighter than the same sword made of normal metal. Is Shard-material lighter than wood, for example? Because I don't know whether Shardarrow would be lighter or heavier than a wooden one. Another question: If there was an Awakener, a dead body and a Cognitive Shadow, would it be somehow possible for the Awakener to Awaken the body and imprint the Shadow on it (effectively resurrecting the CogShade)? Perhaps if the Awakener was Connected to the CogShadow and/or could communicate with it by Hemalurgic spike?
  23. @hoidhunter, we have it confirmed that Wax has drawn on the mists (on it was definitely before BoM release). Combined with the earring he was wearing at the time it's probable that his earring gives him small Allomantic pewter charge and while in the mists they are fueling it. Steelbubble is a result of steel savantism. The only other thing that Wax has unusual is his ridiculously good aim. But we're derailing the topic and I think there's nothing to be added.
