  1. I had Spring break about two weeks ago... though I am in HS so, yeah, isn't quite comparable. I would like to announce that I am in the process of making a duct tape fedora! First stab at it is a little rough right now (lots of wrinkles) but I think this will end up pretty fantastic! I get bored with just roses and wallets... need new ideas
  2. Hey there, welcome to the forums! Out of curiosity, have you read all of Sanderson's books? Also, do you write Fantasy as well as non-fic? I'd assume, since ou are here and stuff, but stil *shrug* figure it doesn't hurt to check About your tumor, wow, that sounds like some scary stuff! Glad you got through it My mom had a nice baseball sized tumor -9cm- pressing on her brain stem just before thanksgiving last year. It wasn't cancerous, docs said it was a meningioma, but still.. brain surgery is kinda scary! But mom is fine now, just a bit slower of a reader. By the way, watch out for the admins, they spike people... you probably don't need anyone to poke MORE things into you (and... hopefully you don't hate me forever for that jest )
  3. I would like to announce that this guy has a problem. I love it!
  4. MUAHAHA.. we now have a possible indication of Salt-o-mancer powers. here at this link There is a picture of a saltshaker in the shape of a ghost. I think we all now realize how exactly Kelsier made his little visits...
  5. Hey drainfree- welcome to the forums! I feel the same way, I love discussing books, especially ones with flipping amazing magic systems and stuff, but none of *my* friends have read the books (I am working on that) and my brother is of the opinion that books were meant to be read, that is all. *sigh* Anyway, I'm sure you'll have a great time here! Just a little tip- watch out for the admins , they like spiking people
  6. I would like to announce that for the FIRST time this calander year I actually did *all* of my pre-cal homework!
  7. This is the story he previewed at LTUE. It takes place on a world that is home to a splinter, as I recall. There are some badly done summaries (by yours truly) of the reading here , but it was before I really knew much, so don't take anything as *ahem* written in stone (sorry about that ) What is officially released is, needless to say, going to be much more accurate. *shrug*
  8. *shrug* sounds good. Thanks!

  9. Where do you find a dog with no legs? Right where you left it! What do you call a woman with one leg shorter than the other? I-lean. What do you call a Chinese woman with one leg shorter than the other? Irene. *ducks tomatoes*
  10. So, I have always been interested in the way magic systems interact with each other. (in fact at the AoL Houston signing, the question I asked was if different magic systems worked on different worlds. THat was before I discovered this place, though ) Earlier I was thinking about Hemalurgy (what I feel is one of the most interesting ones) and thought about how FRIGGIN NIFTY it would be if Hemalurgy could be used to steal powers from off worlders. In the books it talks a lot about the tons of different penetration points, and I'd say it is reasonable that some of those puncture sets could be used to, say, steal Windrunner abilities. the possible arguments (at least the ones that pop right into my head): Objection 1-Magic systems on scadrial proven to be compatible with hemalurgy (Feruchemy/Allomancy) are *Genetic* magic systems. Refutation 1-Hemalurgy, as is understood by Alyssa(me), steals a bit of the soul. It doesn't rely on Genetics, so why couldn't it take windrunning-y-stuff? meh. Still a work in progress. I'll add on to this as I get more random/illogical ideas. What do y'all think? Soo... still relatively new on the forumms, so if there has already been a discussion on this, just point me in the right direction. Did a quick search and didn't see anything, but *shrug*
  11. I change my mind. Today's episode is made of win!! Prepare for life to change
  12. He'll be in Australia
  13. That was my thought as well.
  14. Happy Birthday, Triumvirate! Also, have a good one, Van Gough. Not sure you can hear, what with the ear and all, but... *shrug*
  15. Thanks! Sounds like a fun book, but prolly better off for my wallet if another awesome book comes out this year
  16. Nice to have you on the boards! Watch out for the admins, they have spikes.. How many of the Cosmere books have you read?
  17. I would like to announce that every time I hunt down flies with a fly-swatter I feel like Harry Potter hunting down the snitch.
  18. After looking through some of the TWG archives, I was wondering if one of these were going to pop up (and if it were mine I would probably start it myself ) Anyway, *sigh* happy belated birthday, shivertongue. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my best friend Courtney, who is lame and doesn't read fantasy. She is all adult-ish and stuff now. EDIT mwahaha, my evil plan is working. Posting the link to this thread on my FB got her to come to my "nerd" website!
  19. Awww... I feel special. Anyway, yeah, so surprise paper was a surprise (that apparently had to be tuned in today), so I didn't finish yesterday. Thanks, it is rather time-consuming, but pretty fun too. I'm trying to up my WPM anyway, so... *shrug* this is useful.
  20. Hey, I just found the official report and stuff on Brandon's site! official report and stuff
  21. Just found the official report and stuff official report and stuff
  22. I certainly feel like that was a hint-drop. That'd be cool, anyway. But I want Kell to win, as of this moment he is about 500 behind. I know that it is entirely to early to be really worried, but I feel like most of Brandons fans were prolly WoT folks first...
  23. Nooooooooooo! By the way, you are my hero
  24. I propose it be called The Epic God "Metal" to be slightly more accurate. That said, I am a proponent of this theory. Edit-nevermind. Love the way it is written in Odium's sig
