  1. That's a conundrum. Does Sazed instinctively know what's in the copperminds, or did he not put the memeories of storing itself into the coppermind?
  2. I feel like we Mistborn fans don't spend enough time talking about how awesome copperminds are. They're the type of metalmind that have all others the name. (Metalmind=being able to store memories is like having another mind). The keepers used them as their primary tool, prizing them above all other forms of feruchemy. They have a rich history, but also so much untapped (no pun intended) potential usage. I wanted a thread to come up with all the potential uses of the coppermind. My favorite I came up with was to help those who witnesses tramau. Have memories of horrible events you just can't forget? Dump 'em in a coppermind and chuck the thing in a river. Of course, some would argue that forgetting like that isn't truly facing your problems. However, copperminds have a feature for that too: you don't permanently lose your memories. Having a day where it feels like you just can't deal with the tramau? Write yourself a note saying "don't tap until you feel like you can handle this", then dump all memories but a vauge idea of what happened into the metalmind. And this isn't even getting into what bands of mourning implies copperminds could be used for.
  3. I think feruchemical pulses aren't too hard to see, it's iust that no one's figured out how to do it yet. The existence of feruchemy has only been common knowledge for a few hundred years at most.
  4. I get the feeling Wayne is pansexual. He did seem to be attracted to MeLaan in her male form, after all.
  5. The other secrets he's found out are different though. The existence of the Set? No one would believe him. Lessie being a kandra? That doesn't really affect anyone else, and telling others would deeply hurt Wax. The Soverign being Kelsier changes how at least one of the two main northern religions views their deity. It's big news that people would believe. Plus, sooner or later people would piece together that the guy depicted by the southerners doesn't really look much like Rashek.
  6. Hemalurgy is more of a transfer of power. They type of sDNA I'm talking about would let you awaken magical ability in people without having to steal it from someone else.
  7. Yeah, Lerasium rewrites sDNA, which is passed down like normal DNA. Of course, we on Earth can modify DNA. Maybe in the space trilogy there will be a way to modify sDNA to create magic-users?
  8. Everyone else thinks Wax looks like Tom Cruise on every cover, right? It's not just me?
  9. My theory is that the threshold was lowered, and the mists snap people. If the threshold is lower, the mists don't need to cause as much trauma to snap people.
  10. Wow that was my question in that topic! Im really god you took the time to ask. I'd guess it's WoP (word of Peter), which is both a play on WoB and word of God.
  11. Let's go with "Wax is a steel savant" as a catch-all answer.
  12. He burned gold that wasn't a metalmind to see the images of himself, right?
  13. No, Kelsier (secret history spoilers) isn't that dead. To be 100%, no coming back dead, you have to go to the spiritual realm. Kelsier didn't; he only went to the cognitive realm. Sazed implies Lessie went to the spiritual realm after her death.
  14. I was thinking Spook was in charge, but when he died (or left) those around him took power. They happened to be nobles, since the powerful had married into the old noble families to get the names.
  15. Feruchemy seems a lot more like the Preservation-related power than Allomancy. You out power somewhere, preserving it for later. Allomancy is destroying the metal to create a magical effect. That seems more like a power of creation, and preservation and ruin can only create together. Feruchemy is supposed to be the creation (or preservation and ruin) effect however.
  16. I was wondering why the Elendel Senate had a house made up entirely of nobles. That seemed out of place considering the history with nobles. It was especially bad since we know Kelsier was around Spook, and I can't see him letting Spook put his old enemies in charge.
  17. This argument requires the assumption that homosexuality, and homosexual relationships are inherently different from heterosexual ones, and so different that an author couldn't write a homosexual relationship without direct experience. I'd argue that authors like Mr. Sanderson are more skilled than that, since he can, for example, write a relationship from a female perspective when he isn't female. Direct experience isn't needed to write a relationship.
  18. Don't ask for free e-books, that's not legal. If you want an e-book version, try a library near you. Lots of them have systems that lend out e-books. They'd probably have what you want.
  19. Well I mean we don't know how the medallions work. They could temporarily rewrite your spirit web.
  20. Crazy idea time. No one knows what happened to Rashek's bracers after they were sold by the crew, right? What if the Kandra bought them? They'd want to keep all the atium they could, after all. Furthermore, what if they kept them until after the Ascension? What if they still existed after Harmony ascended? What if the "replica" of the Bands of Mourning in the museum Wax met TenSoon in in Shadows of Self is actually the real bracers Rashek had? They wouldn't be useable since they were keyed to him, and they'd just sit there, full of unusable power. That would be hilarious.
  21. Insert squeeing about Wayne/non-binary MeLaan
  22. Well we know children of those spiked with Hemalurgy can get Metalborn powers, but that has... complications (according to a WoB). No idea on medallions though.
