  1. I don't think he bonded them, so much as they just assisted him. Similar to how the luckspren here are not bonded to either Cord or Rysn, but they lit the way and made them swim faster. My own reaction, I was disappointed...that we didn't get more of Yalb! I wish he was placed as part of Rysn's crew, but maybe that would have been too much jokester with the Lopen going along as well.
  2. Oh ok. I was thinking Ico gave them the information (and assumedly know Pattern is a cryptic), but it does seem more like they were gleaning information based on the hydrator and half eaten food.
  3. I'm rereading Oathbringer (actually, relistening) , and just got to chapter 102: Celebrant. Towards the end of it, a Fused is talking to the dock registrar and says there were "2-3 humans, one honorspren, and one inkspren." Do we know why the Fused thinks there was an inkspren and not a cryptic?
  4. I don't think this is going to happen. In that I think the best we're going to get is Shallan commenting on women (possibly when in another persona). My rational on this is because I doubt people on Roshar have a term for Bisexuality given that never once was the term Gay used when talking about Drehy and Dru. I could maybe see Shallan crushing on some woman, and Adolin getting a bit jealous such that Shallan has to say something like "Adolin, I can find other women *attractive* without wanting to drop everything to pursue them." Which maybe if Sanderson wrote it, it wouldn't sound as forced to me. Lastly, Sanderson is an author that gives a lot of information to his readers outside of the books. It sounds like he may have been able to weave in Jasnah's sexual orientation explicitly into the narrative, and just wanted to quell some comments a bit early by revealing it in this annotation. Similarly, he may not have been able to weave in Shallan's sexual orientation explicitly, and so wanted to confirm it in this same annotation. Given Sanderson's track record, that is basically as good as canon from the books.
  5. How do we know this? Wasn't there talk of Kaladin having to go to war to gain a shardblade (obviously not by Lirin) and therefore *become* lighteyes in order to marry Laral? At the very least Laral thought that at one point.
  6. Obviously we've "been away" for a year, but do we know who the 3 are? Are they still counting Renarin, with his modified spren? I can only think of Renarin, Stump, and Ym (who is obviously not one of the 3) as people we've seen as Truthwatchers in the past.
  7. I've been getting this gut feeling in general (that she's somehow related to the Heralds). But we do know that her stated parents are her biological parents, so would it have been farther back? Unless her mother was Chana...and that's why we don't know her name. Dun dun DUN! (this is a joke)
  8. This implies Hoid is singing, and it sounds exactly like something he'd do.
  9. I don't think the rumors are true (as in like, 99% sure they aren't true), but even if they are that wouldn't preclude Jasnah being bisexual or pansexual (or even asexual, as someone who is asexual can still be in a relationship with someone else). [I am assuming "hereto" is supposed to be "heterosexual" in this case]
  10. This came up in the in the chapter discussion too. I'll summarize some theories / what people want to be true. They basically run the whole gambit of possibility. It's totally true, and canon. They're Friends with Benefits They're just talking Cosmere stuff, and Jasnah is letting the rumors go in order to dissuade anyone else from trying to court her They're just talking Cosmere stuff, and they don't care about the rumors
  11. Ok, fine. We don't "know", but it is *highly* unlikely. Hoid has said in the past (of Shallan) "She is far too young for me." That still holds true for Jasnah.
  12. I did not expect to see a Terry Goodkind reference here, but Faith of the Fallen is probably my favorite of that terrible series. I mean, we know they're not, but I can definitely see how the in-world characters could think that's what's going on.
  13. Oh no! You've lost your Wit(s)! (I have no insight as to where Wit is, just here to tell the immediate joke that came to mind)
  14. I really thought Brandon had confirmed this was possible, but the most relevant WoB I could find was from 2016 and was a RAFO. Also, Mistborn spoilers I guess (no real spoilers, but it's talking about Mistborn stuff and this is the Stormlight forums)?
  15. I believe that Chapter 19 concludes part 1. I don't have the sources, but I remember either Peter or Brandon saying both of these "We will get 19 preview chapters" and "We will get all of Part 1 as previews"
  16. Of note, 18 is twice 9 (aka another important number in Roshar). Or 18 could somehow be important to Cultivation, with 10 then being important just to Honor and 9 being important to Odium.
  17. "But everything is connected in the Spiritual Realm" TM What could be worse than killing (I don't like using the term murdering for these cases) your mother and father... Ok, you've convinced me (that this would be worse than killing your parents). However, I would think that her brothers would at least remember a younger child.
  18. More so, Voidbringer was used by the humans to refer to monsters, which they then assumed were the Parshendi (or at least what the Parshendi could become). But as of Oathbringer, they found out that humans were actually the Voidbringers. So I assume they don't use Voidbringer anymore, because they know it actually refers to humans.
  19. I'm only at the first "break", but Je-sus. I think this goes beyond him being the assassin. Warbreaker spoiler
  20. My personal opinion is that the Rhythms are inherent to Roshar (the planet) and that the Ryshadium can hear them. And because they can hear the Rythms, they "keep cadence" with them when running wild, which attracts Music spren, which then "bond" (in a non-Nahal bond way) to the horses much like mandra "bond" to Great Shells. I don't see why this would be weird. I think ascending to a Shard is a very Cosmere aware thing to do.
  21. This was answered in a WoB, if you want to know, look in the spoiler.
  22. Rlain seems to be overshadowed in this thread, but I was thinking that his denial of the honorspren (and for the specific reasons he stated) could actually *help* the honorspren wanting to bind to him. It sounds like Rlain wants to become a Windrunner, but no spren were willing. I am open to him becoming any order though. I do wonder though...what was Rlain up to both in the last year and slightly before that (i.e. Oathbringer)? Last I remember of him he went off on his own to do something.
  23. So the logicspren are the compilers then?
  24. I still argue they are using Division. The idea being they are destroying a large portion of their body in order to eject from it, then traveling as a spren and reforming using Voidlight healing. My reasoning for this is because Kaladin still sees the creature while it is "teleporting". Does a Larkin (or whatever Nale used) eat stormlight, or investiture? We see Lift get sucked of power in Edgedancer. How do you know we're getting Vasher in the preview chapters?
  25. Could it be that the logicspren provide the (capital I) Intent in the fabrial science, or are at least drawn to the Intent of the artifabrian? Combining the pieces isn't enough, but *wanting* to combine the pieces is essential. Perhaps by attracting logicspren, the artifabrian knows they are on the right path / knows that the fabrial is finished.
