  1. Wax says that he wants an explanation, an apology. He wants to think that killing Lessie was wrong, that it shouldn't have happened. He doesn't take the earring because he knows that it had to happen. Maybe not on a conscious level, but until Sazed tells him it was right, and refuses to say it was wrong, he has a tiny, misguided hope that it didn't need to happen. And as he is, he will take that hope to his grave. I think that may be a personal subplot through the book. On a lighter subject, we have a vague limit on the abilities of kandra. A little while ago, I had a lot of ideas about the possibilities of kandra, and this states that they need to be a certain size to maintain sentience. Yay!
  2. There is speculation that the Dor is the combined Cognitive shadows of Devotion and Dominion, or something like that.
  3. Oh, Storms yes! Umm...admins, please move this to the appropriate spoiler board.
  4. I'm not, I upvoted every post he made on this thread.
  5. Dalinar was ostracized long before the visions became public. He thought the highprinces were behaving dishonorably, to put it simply, and he tried to impose his restrictions on others. Most Alethi lighteyes are not honorable to the letter, leading to Dalinar being a Blackthorn in their sides. The important thing to remember about Kaladin's prejudices is that they are mostly right. I'm not saying they're right or that he should have them, but remember that about 99% of all lighteyes are marginally better than crem, with some (the ones that Kaladin encountered pre-Dalinar) having crem as their immediate moral superior.
  6. Granted. You also get 100 downvotes in the same time. I wish my library has every Sanderson book published in sufficient quantities to never be completely checked out.
  7. Inconvenient and may be indicative of problems elsewhere. Voidbringers are like Star Wars VII spoilers.
  8. The Aons work on exactly the same principle as the Scadrian metals. The Aon draws the investiture, and the shape forms it into the (hopefully) desired effect.
  9. I blame aluminum. The metal that neutralizes all Investiture. I'm not sure how it was used, but I blame aluminum.
  10. I'm American, and I didn't know that much. Upvotes for your history lesson!
  11. Hey! Stop raiding the Dark Alley Bakery!
  12. Maybe burning a Lerasium alloy makes you an instant savant in whatever metal the Lerasium is alloyed with.
  13. For a while now, I've thought there was a connection between the Shards and the Allomantic metals, as shown in my 16 shards, 16 metals thread. Sorry, no link. I am on a tablet. In any case, I think your theory with Atium is spot on, but I am slightly cautious about supporting your lerasium bit, due to my own opinions on the subject.
  14. When, for no reason whatsoever, you tell your father all about Allomancy and Feruchemy while knowing perfectly well that he will not read the books, you just want to talk about it. Also, my brother knows about Awakening and maybe Surgebinding as well as the Metallic Arts.
  15. One of a few parts of a book that I never read. I'm going to start now.
  16. First of all, don't take the cookies. They are disguised Hemalurgic spikes. Second, this should probably go in Stormlight Archive. No worries, my first two topics were on this board, apparently a fairly common mistake. Third, in answer to your question, lots of info on Surgebinding.
  17. Don't take the cookies! They're disguised Hemalurgic spikes. There are some talented people on the Shard, someone might be able to grant your wish. Anyways, welcome!
  18. Simple: Alcatraz technology is magic, they just don't want to admit it.
  19. With the deal with the king randomly pardoning the deserters, remember that Elhokar is not anyone's first choice for king, unless they want a puppet.
  20. He's had everything he's ever cared about ripped from him by lighteyes. Taken like that, it's not unreasonable that they would take his Surgebinding. Of course, it is ridiculous, since only one lighteyes can take away Kaladin's Surgebinding. Kaladin.
  21. I'm curious what Calamitas does for me. Stormgate is already an Epic.
  22. ...wasn't Anakin conceived by the Force?
  23. Jedi --see briefly into the future --have increased strength, agility, and maybe senses --can move objects with their minds --can influence people's thoughts, getting them to do stuff --have Force aptitude more or less passed down --have swords that cut virtually anything except for a few things that the good guys never seem to have Mistborn --see briefly into the future --have increased senses, strength, and agility --can move metal with their mind --being Metalborn is hereditary --they don't have blades that can cut anything, but the Knights Radiant do! Any questions?
