  1. Well, the only gem we've seen on their body is woven into their beard, so that doesn't seem like a gem heart. Kaladin & Co. have already desecrated countless corpses, they'd probably mention finding gems actually in the body.
  2. If you were just a twin born of Duralumin/Aluminum and you were a ferring of say, gold, you wouldn't be able to burn your metalmind in the first place because you're not a misting of the same metal. It would definitely have an effect, but only possible if you were either fullborn or spiked. Actually, I can see this being immensely useful in compounding if you spiked yourself with a duralumin granting spike.
  3. Because that's not how it works? I've seen it as him basically absorbing the pure investiture, basically with breaths. Don't think any of what he steals is retrievable, usuable, or identifiable.
  4. Getting to Luthadel was more important than saving up his steel.
  5. One Punch Man?
  6. Allomancy is (mostly) a Scadrial thing, but Hemalurgy is designed to be used across worlds, and I think that Brandon said it was there from the very beginning. Probably why atium doesn't have too much of an effect on it.
  7. Nope, it's 15. I remember he stated it a few times, and there's actual evidence somewhere, but it's 15.
  8. So nightblood leaking investiture when it's not in its sheath is basically the same thing as a spike losing power when not touching blood?
  9. Ruin and Preservation have already come together, and we have a WoB about how it affects Sazed, but basically it's not distracting or confusing him. Second, TLR just can't do this, because of something hat happens in Secret History. Is it even possible to take away power from a shard when you're not one?
  10. I've been lucky enough to read the last 3, but getting ahold of a copy of Dragonsteel sounds ridiculously hard.
  11. Because unlike Atium, TLR doesn't have a monopoly on copper production. Also, he sold it to get the high prices, which the nobility would eagerly snap up, and he also knew that the Atium would be quickly burned by the mistborn, and the pits would immediately start churning it out. He wanted to stop Ruins body from forming.
  12. They created it together, and the only reason Preservation was weaker than Ruin was because preservation gave up an extra bit to make humans sentient. Otherwise, from the in world epigraphs we know that everything, except humans, has an equal amount of ruin and preservation in it. And yes, it is 1024 years. I believe Sazed said that in an epigraph in HoA.
  13. I like to think of 1024 as 162 times the square root of 16.
  14. Shame. closest one is 8 hours away.
  15. Elantris and The Hope of Elantris The Emperor's Soul Mistborn Era 1 Warbreaker The Stormlight Archive Mistborn Era 2 Sixth of the Dusk, which is in the age of Era 4 Mistborn books, the science fiction trilogy roughly the order, this is everything that has been published.
  16. Well, just in case someone hasn't tried these out. storm rust chull edit: well, they left a few unfiltered, so i edited them out.
  17. Well. Not sure what to say after reading that WoB. My only solace is that it hasn't happened yet. Why can't everything just make sense for once?
  18. Iron: Allomancy! Subtly pulling small objects is always fun, especially when people don't know you're an allomancer Steel: Allomancy! Sometimes pushing isn't enough. Tin: Allomancy, just to be Daredevil. Pewter: Allomancy, easier to use than feruchemy, don't want to rip my shirt by being too muscular. Zinc: Allomancy! Having power over others is fun. Brass: Hemalurgy, stealing feruchemical zinc. Storing basically intelligence isn't very appealing, better to have infinite storages. Copper: Feruchemy. Still being in school, I'd kill for this. Bronze: Allomancy, more mistings than mistborn, people. Cadmium: Feruchemy, there are uses for everything, even the storing. Bendalloy: Feruchemy, going to an all-you-can-eat buffet once a month and never having to eat leaves a lot of time for other things. Gold: Feruchemy, storing in class or over breaks, tapping in life threatening situations. Or sports. Electrum: Feruchemy, having control over your level of determination is too helpful. Chromium: Allomancy. Shake hands with any powered person, their stores are gone. Nicrosil: Feruchemy. Giving out unkeyed metalminds for money as a fallback. Aluminum: Allomancy. Just to show I can. Duralumin: Feruchemy. Just to mess around in Spanish. Atium: Hemalurgy, stealing Feruchemic Chromium. Just as useful as atium sometimes, with more comedic effect. I... spent way too long on this.
  19. wait what. Source?
  20. Well we know that when 2 surges interact, they have a 'third effect', so that could be the main difference in the same surge going to 2 different orders.
  21. Well we already do know that you can have more than 2 surges, because we've gotten confirmation that you can bond with more than one honor blade. So, is it a separate magic system, or just a really clever way of manipulating it? emphasis mine:
  22. So with spoilers, there should be a little box that says BBCode or something, and if you click that, there's a whole list of options. Press spoiler, and just type what you want in there. There isn't really a 'list' of all the cosmere wide things that happen, but once you know what they are, they get fairly easy to spot.
  23. Are where shard pools form a conscious decision by the shard's, where their power is most concentrated, or just a random occurrence? I feel like that would help a lot in discerning certain things.
  24. coppermind.net will help you, but I'm not sure if any summaries for the books yet have been posted. If you have any specific questions, ask away.
  25. I felt like he was counting the pairings the way he talks there. The twenty or thirty magic systems seems to account for pairings, and we already know that there's a 'third effect' when they mix.
