  1. Corrections in bold. EDIT: And how did you get the indents to work? I was having a lot of trouble with them.
  2. It's not a WoB, I don't think. Hoid did an experiment with the Shaod in the 10th Anniversary edition of Elantris, which was inconclusive. He made a deal with a skaze that was predicated on becoming an Elantrian, which of course fell through when the experiment failed, much to the skaze's disapproval. EDIT: Also Sheo means "Death," while Shao means "Transformation." If the Reod (Reo meaning "Punishment") was lethal, then it might have been called the "Sheod." EDIT EDIT: Another question for the list: Is it possible to use a soulstamp to change the age of an object, e.g. can you Forge a sword such that it is newly forged, or a book such that it is newly printed?
  3. I don't believe Jasnah is as dark-skinned as Wax's impromptu dance partner is described, and in any event, while Jasnah is scholarly, she's more focused on history (with a specialization in the Voidbringers) than Invested physics. Wax's dance partner is actually Khriss, from White Sand. Also she's the author of the Ars Arcanum epilogues. If it were not 2 AM where I am, I'd dig out all the evidence connecting Khriss to Wax's dance partner, but it is, so I won't.
  4. This. Notice that The Lord Ruler didn't trust the koloss anywhere near the towns and cities in the Final Empire, nor did he trust the Inquisitors until political jockeying caused Lord Tevidian to be ousted from the Steel Ministry.
  5. This. Look at how GoT struggles with all the viewpoints in its source material - and realize that that is 10 hours' worth of broadcasted material per season. Maybe if it was one book = 3 seasons, with, say, WoK part 1, WoK parts 2 and 3, WoK part 4 and 5 being the first 3 seasons then maybe, maybe it'd do the events justice. But that's a 3-season commitment, with a hefty effects budget per episode, for the first installment (of 10) of a fantasy series. Not the most sure-fire of marketing bets.
  6. Actually, as far as Preservation was concerned, Rashek did a bang-up job as the Hero of Ages. All that was required is that the power was used, and therefore kept out of the hands of Ruin. The mists were either 1) a masquerade by Ruin in order to smear Preservation's power as evil or 2) searching out allomancers and Snapping them, depending on circumstance. (the Deepness was probably the former, and he reused the trick during HoA)
  7. The skaze are not "orderly" or "logical" as one of their prime mandates. Being Splinters of Dominion, their mandate is to control (much like the Seons' mandate is to be devoted). The skaze might engineer a disaster so that they can control the remaining population but cleansing all life from the planet (as the Fakeless Immortals threatened - wonderful term for them, BTW) would be overkill.
  8. Also, how to do spoilers: (Replace the curvy brackets with straight brackets to get it to work) {spoiler}This is how to do a spoiler{/spoiler} equals
  9. Where would he get it? If Rashek put a handy-dandy source of chromium within reach, Ruin would know about it, and once the Lord Ruler was out of the way, hello Inquisitors with Leecher powers. It took a great deal of obfuscation to hide the atium from Ruin, remember, and that even that cover was almost blown by Vin's old thieving crew.
  10. Add me to the list of people saying that Sabriel's going to get absolutely robbed by the GoT fanbase. (Seriously, I know the write-ups are hit-or-miss, but Astarael is astoundingly broken in this context)
  11. What sort of idiot would this hypothetical Windrunner have to be to make that sort of oath? And, um, attaining the Third Heightening and realizing that you don't have any outfits that don't clash.
  12. Seon Ien, according to Raoden at least, seemed altered by the experience, although whether that was from vague recollections of being Hoed or from the completed Shaod is unclear.
  13. The bond they create with their humans (e.g. Seon Ashe with Sarene) is very similar to the nahel bond between spren and surgebinder (from the Stormlight Archive). There's a WoB on this, I'm fairly certain, or at least there are WoBs which dance around it but don't specifically say they're the same. Add that to the deleterious effects that the Reod has on one's Cognitive self, and there you go.
  14. That is precisely right. They run off the Dor, but don't run off of AonDor specifically. I suspect they congregate around Arelon because that was where Devotion died, Physically speaking I mean (at the very least, that's where her Shardpool is). Likewise, I suspect Dominion died somewhere in the vicinity of the core nation that eventually became the Fjordell empire, if only because the Skaze have apparently made themselves integral to the inner workings of Wyrn's Domain.
  15. I asked because there might still be the possibility, however remote, of you going to a signing and bringing the picture with you.
  16. It essentially is Sanderson's flagship series, but Wax and Wayne (otherwise known as Era 2) has the advantage over most post-story milkings in that it (specifically, Alloy of Law) was an idea that popped into our esteemed author's head before he finished the story. EDIT: Again, you probably didn't know that he'd been planning on more Mistborn before Alloy of Law was even a thing, let alone the rest of Era 2, so I can see the confusion.
  17. Your image is broken. Is it hand-drawn?
  18. Why in the world would you ever take those out?
  19. There'll be an option to "Hide" next to the edit button. That'll work just fine.
  20. My Perfect State would probably be modeled after Roshar or Liar of Partinel-Yolen. Except of course that my first major story arc would be built around personally protecting the Machineborn from the highstorm expy or personally driving back the encroaching corruption. But above all, it would be about me obtaining power and then using it to reshape the world in my image.
  21. That's clearly a metaphor for Frava's opinion of Shai's Essence Marks, and her obvious avarice for them.
  22. Autocorrect, I'd wager. The post makes sense if you substitute the word "fabrial" for "Gabriel."
  23. And Hoid is gleefully exploiting that loophole for all its worth. And really, was stomping on Kel's shin like that necessary?
  24. If you're talking about the Aethers, they are clear prototypes of the spren and as such have probably been relocated to Roshar. Which admittedly doesn't preclude their involvement in Liar of Partinel (if that ever gets released).
