  1. Awakening being end-neutral is WoB.
  2. But the power source, Stormlight, originates from an external source (presumably a Shard or combination of Shards) which is what makes it end-positive. Feruchemy and Awakening (the only known examples of end-neutral systems) are both powered by investiture that originates from people, Stormlight doesn't.
  3. Hey I remembered! They can now all be found on the BYUEnglish youtube channel. Lecture 1 Lecture 2 Lecture 3 Lecture 4 Lecture 5 Lecture 6 Lecture 7 Lecture 8 Lecture 9 Lecture 10 Lecture 11 Lecture 12 Lecture 13 Lecture 14
  4. It was confirmed in WoB yes but read scenes with him carefully. He is constantly making color-based metaphors (a Nalthian thing to do), he plays Tarachin at one point (the game Lightsong plays with some of the other Returned), he can detect Syl even when she is invisible in his interlude (due to lifesense), he mentions that the highstorms are Invested in his interlude (which would indicate worldhopper status), and he also mentions that there haven't been voices in his head for a long time (a reference to Nightblood). Vasher was actually in the original draft of The Way of Kings and then Brandon wrote Warbreaker to do his backstory.
  5. As the person who wrote that, it specifically refers to worldbuilding stuff and does *not* refer to the mechanics of the Metallic Arts.
  6. Rubix explained it in an earlier post but basically a booth near where Brandon was playing was blaring copyrighted music and we really don't want to chance any sort of issue with that. We're almost done and it will definitely be worth the wait.
  7. Nope I mean ball, I'm pretty sure it's the Casuana Ball to be specific (though I might be wrong on that). It's an old reference, though surprisingly still a relevant one, to Mistborn: The Inquisition.
  8. Have you read the Jasnah reading? Because:
  9. For White Sand and Aether of Night you just have to send Brandon an email requesting them. As for the list of the unpublished books, the coppermind has one (though it is still a work in progress in formatting).
  10. Which makes sense since the sequel is supposed to be taking place in South America and have a Native American viewpoint in it. This was my personal favorite thing revealed in the SLC Comic-Con audio but there is a lot of neat stuff in there, and it's definitely worth the wait (we are nearly there so it should be posted soon-ish).
  11. It's actually considerably less than 30 hours, the signings are about 10-12 hours worth of audio (wchich doesn't include panels, I've not counted how long those are). Transcribing is progressing but it takes a while and we want to make sure no questions get missed. Don't really know when it will get posted (that's above my pay grade) but my best guess is that it'll be sometime before the ball ends.
  12. Lighteyes (or at least higher ranked ones) get their corpses Soulcast into stone statues. Everybody else is cremated.
  13. WoK Chapter 61 has this to say (emphasis mine):
  14. Sorry for ignoring most of your post but this is not true. The only thing against their relationship is tradition, there are zero laws disallowing it. Navani checked.
  15. Basically, though it would be more like "When [spren who have a bond that has progressed to the point where the spren can be summoned as a shardblade] die they'd revert to the basic [shardblade] form which was a sword since [shardblades] were patterned after honorblades"
  16. Spren are not patterned after honorblades, it is the Nahel bond/shardblades that are patterned after the honorblades. Spren existed before the honorblades, some even existed before Honor himself. In the purelake vision towards the beginning of WoR Honor makes a comment to the effect of "These orders were a surprise to me, they copied what I gave to the Heralds". Honorblades grant surgebinding to their bearers, so to does a Nahel bond with a spren and sufficiently advanced Nahel bonds allow the spren to manifest as a shardblade. The default/basic form of a shardblade is a sword, because the honorblades are swords. Syl's death in WoR doesn't quite apply here, she and Kaladin had not progressed far enough in their bond for her to manifest as a shardblade. We do know that if she were to die now that Kaladin has spoken the Third Ideal of the Windrunners she would manifest as a dead shardblade.
  17. No you are right: (source)
  18. Because Mi'ch asked Brandon about it: (source) Edit: BTW I just double checked and this fact is on the wiki.
  19. Jedal, after his fahter Edit: Windy! *shakes fist*
  20. cranky economy builder
  21. Raoden entering Elantris, Karata's gang being the bad option, Aanden's and Shaor's being the two worse?
  22. The current plan with regards to Alcatraz is for Tor to re-release books 1-4 and then release book 5. The tentative schedule (which Brandon mentioned at SLC ComicCon) is: Summer 2015 - Book 1 Fall 2015 - Book 2 Winter 2015/2016 - Book 3 Spring 2016 - Book 4 Summer 2016 - Book 5 @LeftVash, we only have confirmation that the first draft is complete, not the entire book.
