  1. Actually no Hemalurgy can turn you into a post-Final Ascension koloss, Sazed changed all of that not just the existing koloss. It is mentioned /somewhere/ that normal humans can join the koloss.
  2. Okay, so I've been working on the transcription over the past few weeks and it is pretty much done. (I'm not going to copy/paste it here because I still want to do one more pass to get a couple more rough spots, which I will hopefully do this weekend-ish) Kurkistan: You said you had another version of the audio, right? If you have time there is a question @2:53:45 that just isn't picked up well on Argent's recording, would you mind taking a look (or listen)? There's a lot of great new stuff in there and some stuff we already knew and have heard a lot of times. I also included a bit about book recommendations precisely so I could be absolutely horrible and say the following to Argent: "Neiner, neiner. I've read Uprooted, it's completely, and utterly fantastic. Mwahahahaha."
  3. This might help: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/4194-your-guide-to-getting-into-infinity-blade/
  4. Ah okay I think I understand you now, but I don't think there is anything to indicate that there status as Heralds is unconnected to the Oathpact?
  5. Well sense they thought abandoning the Honorblades was enough to break the Oathpact it follows that they were given them when the Oathpact was formed? I don't really know of an alternative to this?
  6. 1. Good point, I'll have to give it some thought. 2. Yeah this has to do with the fact that I wrote the article at a different point in time than sourcing it. We do know that the Oathpact was between Honor and the Heralds. And that the Honorblades were created and given to the Heralds. (by Honor, because he mentions the spren started bonding in imitation of what He gave mankind, i.e. the honorblades) I'll make sure to add these. 3. This again is a artifact of me working on this over a period of a couple weeks. We do have a source for this. (We first heard about it secondhand from one of the UK signings last August, but we have it verbatim from the recent Chicago one--which is in the process of being transcribed) I'll add a cite note to add it for when it is added to the database.
  7. So I'm resurrecting this thread so I can get some feedback on an update to the Shalash page (which in part is a mock-up of updates I want to make to the rest of the Herald pages).
  8. This is correct. Also darkeyes are generally cremated.
  9. Actually Brandon has been asked about this, and the title actually refers to something else: (source)
  10. [Edit: I originally posted in a hidden forum, just so I could have the timestamp on it but now that we have these unpublised works forums I can finally share it with the public] So a while back I posted about Peter saying that Aether of Night might be un-cannibalized. He also mentioned this: When I brought it up before I, among others, felt that Peter was referring to the fact that what looks like an aether shows up in Mraize's horde: However this observation has been mentioned in pretty much every discussion of Mraize's horde, and I'd be surprised if he hadn't read at least some of them, so I don't think this is what he was referring to. Just recently I was doing some edits on the Coppermind and one of the epigraphs from the Second letter caught my eye: And then this morning I was reminded of this quote from Hoid: There has recently been discussion that this refers to Hoid's use of "Topaz" as a pseudonym. I feel this is likely, especially as there is at least one kind of aether that is topaz-ish in color. So my speculation is this, the gemstone/beautiful rock in question is an aether Hoid was bonded to that died. And that this is why aethers are already canon.
  11. Down with pi! ALL HAIL TAU! (but anyway I know pi only out to the ninth decimal place, so ten digits...)
  12. Ebooks will be updated at some point.
  13. I may move it to its own thread when Brandon is finished answering questions, but to be honest this list is mostly organizing things for myself for when this gets added to the database. I just figured I might as well share it as I go. And in general I don't like having duplicate threads for the same "event". All questions in a post will be posted, whether or not they are all answered.
  14. So I'm going to try and post all the questions that have been answered thus far (in a spoiler tag for length). This will probably take a while so check back in a bit... Done as of 12PM EDT 3/13. 3/16 questions:
  15. Actually I think it totally fits as a Terris name?
  16. Actually she's definitely Terris.
  17. The thread is live: http://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/2ytg2h/im_novelist_brandon_sanderson_ama/
  18. Probably? I don't really know though...
  19. So my post is currently sitting at 9 questions... oops. (At least eight of them are labeled "feel free to pick and choose from these"?)

Ruin was providing the Intent, correct.
  21. Actually you type ["My actual question goes here."](/s)
  22. Oooh! I was hoping he would be doing one of these soon! I remember I was a member of the forums for the last one but didn't participate because I "didn't have a Reddit account". A week later I was kicking myself "you could have /made/ an account you slontze". @Edgedancer Basically at around two a thread will be posted in /r/books where we can start posting our questions and Brandon will answer them. (Here is a link to the last one) /r/books has an explanation of how to use spoiler tags in the column to the right, labeled as "Spoiler Policy".
  23. Vasher refers to him as "Dust" which is one of Hoid's preferred pseudonyms. Brandon used it, instead of Hoid, in early drafts of Warbreaker, before deciding he didn't want to confuse people by using a different name. Vasher is on Roshar because it is easier (and less morally icky) to get Stormlight than Breath.
  24. Kaladin does ask Vasher about Hoid and he does know him, and has a poor opinion of him:
