  1. Keep in mind there's a 15 year time-skip between books 5 and 6, so there is plenty of potential material a Renarin book could cover (and he /is/ one of the flashback characters).
  2. The characters are currently planned to be: Kaladin, Shallan, Szeth, Eshonai, Dalinar, Taln, Renarin, Jasnah, Lift, and Shalash. He first mentioned this line-up last August and he mentioned it again at the Chicago signing a few weeks ago (but I've not transcribed that portion of the audio yet. Edit: @Edgedancer, while you are correct that Brandon is no longer sure whose flashback is going to be featured in Stormlight 3 it is still going to be either Szeth, Eshonai, or Dalinar and not somebody new.
  3. Ah okay, I get you now.
  4. Did you mean fifth oath? Because she's already said her fourth truth as of the end of WoR (since Kaladin is at stage 3 and Shallan is a stage beyond him).
  5. Kelsier is clinically a psychopath, it's WoB:
  6. Brandon has mentioned (in one of the audios I haven't gotten a chance to transcribe yet so this is kind of paraphrased, sorry) that "slontze" came out of his relationship with his editor and agent (both of whom are Jewish) and say a bunch of cool Yiddish words. So Brandon wanted to come up with a word that kind of sounded like that.
  7. The timeline of events for WoR has actually been, mostly, worked out here. So the date of the summoning of the everstorm is known to be Ishishach 1173 (10-10-3). We did know how the dates were constructed, but congrats on figuring that out for yourself!
  8. So Brandon talked a little about it at the Chicago signing a few weeks back (and I had a few free minutes today so I was able to transcribe this section): (source) Also for those thanking me for the list of edits, that thanks should really go to Botanica, it's only thanks to her I knew what they were.
  9. The forum doesn't automatically update with regards to daylight savings time. If you go into your profile settings under the tab where you choose your timezone there is a box you either have to click/unclick and time will re-align itself. Edit: Ninja'd!
  10. Well we did have to wait 15 so I'd say close enough.
  11. Oh right, now I remember you saying there was something missing from that list on Twitter a while back... Oops. You are correct.
  12. As I mentioned in post 17, Szeth willing broke the bond himself, Kaladin did not sever it with Syl.
  13. This I think has to do with the fact that it's in Eshonai's POV and the listeners call the Stormfather the Rider of Storms.
  14. In this case we really can't say, since Szeth willing released the Bond.
  15. For those interested here are all the changes made in the new edition: Edit: Updated it with the final missing change.
  16. Okay so I was actually referencing this WoB: (source) However I seem to have forgotten the last bit of that sentence. Brandon has RAFO'd the question of whether Kelsier was correct in his estimation. My personal thoughts on the matter is that there is no reason for the Pits to exist any longer. They were put in place by Preservation to forcibly drain some of Ruin's Investiture, but Sazed is in control of both Shards now so the reason for the Pits' existence is no longer relevant.
  17. Thank you! I believe it is supposed to be a con-exclusive based on what Brandon has said in interviews.
  18. The Pits were destroyed, they are no longer producing atium.
  19. I did ask Peter on Twitter late last night, I'll post as soon as I get an answer.
  20. So it would appear that Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell is now available as a singular item (rather than as part of an anthology) and here's the cover art: I for one really love it!
  21. (source) And it really depends on what you mean by "radiants". Like we don't know at one point somebody transfers from a Radiant-in-training to a full-fledged Knight. They're all Surgebinders, whether or not they are more we really can't say. And it is important that different Orders progress in different ways (i.e. not all Orders get their Shardblades when they reach level 3).
  22. that is only his third oath. He has sworn: "Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination" (1st Ideal of the Knights Radiant) "I will protect those who cannot protect themselves" (2nd Ideal of the Windrunners) "I will protect even those I hate so long as it is right" (3rd Ideal of the Windrunners) Brandon has established that Shallan is a step farther that Kaladin as of the end of WoR.
