  1. If I remember correctly Topaz is the name he uses in Dragonsteel Prime. And the transcription does have a little more in Brandon's answer for this question. I've had a theory that the gemstone was actually an aether for a while, and after this there really isn't any doubt in my mind. @Maxal, if you are referring to the Edgedancer Herald then her name is Vedel. Veden is an adjective describing stuff from Jah Keved. I cannot recall any theories on characters that might be her.
  2. We have separate WoB that Adonalsium visited Roshar, and that the listeners and Rosharan humans pre-existed the Ascension of Honor and Cultivation. It seems clear to me that it was Adonalsium that created life on Roshar (which fits with the Second Letter saying the world's Hoid now tread bear the "touch of Adonalsium").
  3. That is correct, because when Brandon first introduced the Era terminology, just about a year ago now, Wax and Wayne was Era 2, the modern trilogy was Era 3, and the space opera trilogy was Era 4. Yesterday was the first time Brandon announced that he was changing Wax and Wayne to be Era 1.5. When Brandon said "Era 2 is after Stormlight 5" he meant Wax and Wayne.
  4. I've read the entire thread, can you help me out here?
  5. Definitely Dalinar.
  6. That is correct (though I wouldn't call it an accident, more an experiment that went well), I'm not sure I understand your point though?
  7. Note that when we are saying "Era 2 is after Stormlight 5" we /are/ referring to Wax and Wayne. Brandon just decided to change his mind on that.
  8. Mistborn Era 2 is after Stormlight 5. Edit: It also cannot be TenSoon, as the kandra is female.
  9. Are you referring to this map? In which case that is not the Stormwarden script, it's the Thaylen script.
  10. Y'know I was just thinking about how it's been a while since I played one of these. I think I'll bring back Riew as a skaa courier. Hopefully this time I can live to the end of the game!
  11. No, I know I've heard about Roshar being created before. Don't know where exactly though... But it was in the context of the shape of the continent being a clue that it didn't arise naturally, and another time it was Brandon saying there wasn't always a landmass on Roshar.
  12. Okay, I just finished a first pass of the Signing Line audio: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1r4u4t0SH_O-uEkaMwE9Iqjbrzem2e9xXRjFLvGWd7HI/edit Still needs to be proofed but that's a job for another day (unless someone would like to help out).
  13. He's not. He mentions that it was a novella, Dragonsteel is significantly longer. Not to mention he's said that he's not going to be working on it until after Stormlight 10.
  14. I do feel compelled to point out that Eshen was not Raoden's birth-mother, Iadon only married her when he took the throne. His birth mother was still around during his childhood (and according to Raoden, Iadon wasn't always like the way he was, he was never a great father but he wasn't always as horrible a father).
  15. Ooh, nice. Would you mind posting a picture of this?
  16. OOOOOH, new Aon knowledge! Thank you so much for this.
  17. That's actually very interesting. When you get a chance though, would you mind taking a picture of it and posting it? Thank you.
  18. Actually the Tears of Edgli are the flowers, not the dyes. Also any color can be used for Awakening, not just colors resulting from those dyes. The Tears do appear to be related to Endowment in some way as they can only be grown in Hallandren soil (which is also unusual for being the only jungle in the known world). Brandon has said that there is "something" that is leaking into the soil there to make it special, this is commonly believed to be Endowment's Shardpool though we do not, I believe, have explicit confirmation on that.
  19. The reason the paperback has a different cover is that that is the UK cover. As Pagerunner points out US publishers generally do not release paperback versions until about a year after the release of the Hardcover.
  20. Warbreaker takes place between WoK and HoA, which is an interval of less than 340 years.
  21. It would have had to be long after Aharietiam (Vo only Returned less than 1000 years before Warbreaker, and Aharietiam was 4,500 Rosharan years before WoK). Whether or not it was after the Recreance is debatable.
  22. It's one of Hoid's pseudonyms. If you actually go and look at some of the early drafts of Warbreaker on Brandon's site he uses that instead of Hoid, but Brandon eventually decided to just use Hoid.
  23. Nope, if there was I would have transcribed it. It's at least his second, correct.
  24. Okie doke, I've finished my first pass through the recording. It still needs to be proofed, but I don't know when I'll have time for that (so if anybody else wants to help out it would be much appreciated).
