I have never actually thought about what it looks like, but now that I see an artistic rendering of it, I'd like to say one thing. Artistic liberty. I never would have imagined it like that, but I do like it.

Long Game 16: The Empty Throne Part 2: The Catacombs
Kynedath replied to Alvron's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Both Mark and Elbereth are voting for Meta right now, so he would have two votes on him, not the one you have him down for. Also, Hellscythe devoted Araris.- 529 replies

Long Game 16: The Empty Throne Part 2: The Catacombs
Kynedath replied to Alvron's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Kynedath stood in the street, stunned. Old man Durbin was right. He didn't have the ability to have killed his brother. Maybe he was an epic? No. Not crazy enough. Maybe he had connections in Persepolis? Maybe. That still left his motives unknown. Why had Vivenna even told him that old man Duribin was behind the death of his brother? Rubbing the small lump on his head, Drake turned to leave. But he couldn't go home yet, he still needed to prove that he was strong enough. He still needed to protect his house. He still needed to protect his wife. Apparently, he couldn't do that and give his brother retribution at the same time. So instead of turning to walk home, he turned to the understreets. There he would prove that he could protect his house. *Sigh* Adavantos, Thanks for going along with it, but why do you insist on killing me to make various points? Well, at least this time you just killed me in words. To be honest, I don't really know what to think in the whole "bodysnatching" deal. What you say about poke votes makes a bit of sense, so I did retract my vote on you, but then again, poke voting is one of the ways that people can gather more information. Especially in the early game, it forms opinions and creates suspicions, something that we need if we are going to find the eliminators. I think that I can see why Meta was attacking Mark earlier. Meta's explanation of letting them hang themselves made it clearer. I do still think that it was enthusiastic, being there was like four paragraphs as to why Mark was suspicious. All good points, but I think that they were blown up. Meta and Mark have both done suspicious things, and I want to keep an eye on them, but more so Mark.- 529 replies

My favorites have already been mentioned, but I do recommend David Dalglish. He wrote the Shadowdance series. Nice anti-hero story. Non-magic user protagonist is always refreshing.

No, the nice ones lure you into the shard and suck your life away. If ever you are invited to participate in the Sanderson Elimination, either make sure you don't want a social life anymore, or have some sort of time control device. It legitimately takes up like 50% of your time. -
Long Game 16: The Empty Throne Part 2: The Catacombs
Kynedath replied to Alvron's topic in Sanderson Elimination
When Drake received word from Persepolis that his brother Graye was an epic, he hadn't cried. He couldn't afford to show that kind of vulnerability. He had been sad, yes, but he hadn't cried. If he had shown how weak he could be, his next assignment would be a permanent recon mission in the graveyard. When Drake received word from Persepolis that his brother Graye had died, he had cried. If he wanted to keep functioning properly, if he wanted to keep his sanity, he had to released his sorrow. He still couldn't show his weakness, but he had to cry. He had to mourn for the man who had raised him. So he went home and cried to his wife. His house wasn't much of a sight. It's just a two roomed hole in the ground that Drake had to pay a near fortune to have made. It was furnished sparsely and didn't have a washroom, just a hole in the corner the size of a certificate. What it did have was working lights and a working sink. The location was good too, nowhere near the slums, residential areas or the luxury apartments where the city officials live. Drake's house was on the outskirts of the former industrial area of Newcago. True, there a couple of gangs in the area, using it as their base of operations, but they couldn't see his house. He had it built so that it was nearly invisible on the outside. He and Graye had designed it that way when Graye was still raising Drake. He cried for Graye, but eventually he had to move on. He couldn't let his pseudo-family know his weakness. He couldn't let them or else they would come and take his home away. They would take his wife away. They would take everything away from him. He couldn't let them take it away from him. It was his house. She was his wife. He couldn't lose them. He had to protect them! He had to live, because Graye is dead. Just so you know, I accidentally left the page when I was writing this the first time around, so this version isn't my best work. Also, Adavantos! My name in Drake Pierce, you killed my brother, now prepare to die. Also, Meta, a bit tunnely no? Not saying you're wrong, but you are very intent on casting suspicion on Mark. Now I do find Mark's logic a bit flawed, as RP is nearly the only reason to vote right now. And I do find his voting you back is slightly strange, but I can also see that being his automatic response to threats. That's just not how I work. But it may be how he works. Not trying to take a side, just pointing out some inconsistencies.- 529 replies

Quick Fix Game 12: The Time of Reckoning
Kynedath replied to phattemer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ada, What are your other reasons for attacking Orlok? I am not seeing anything suspicious about him before Anamax was lynched. Even then, Orlok has the least likely probability of being evil due to his early involvement in the lynch. He put the first vote on Anamax, which isn't the best thing for the reckoners to do. I recently found a forum all about forum mafia that said that eliminators were extremely unlikely to be the first people on a band-wagon. The most likely candidates are the third and last people. The eliminators are much more likely to see a misconception between three or four players, and they latch on to it, creating a voting frenzy on one of those people. The most likely people to be reckoners in Anamax's kill train would be Hellscythe and Maill. They were the ones who joined after there were enough votes for a potential lynch. Hellscythe is my personal guess, due to him jumping off of all other previous suspicions and jumping onto Anamax's case with a determination not to move his vote until the cycle was over or until Anamax posted again. He had a very high probability of knowing that Anamax wouldn't post again, therefore giving the reckoners an easy kill without actually doing anything. Adding the fact that Hellscythe didn't give us any real explanation as to why he voted for Anamax other than "I don't like your inactive play style", along with him not being on since roll-over, I find it fairly likely that Hellscythe is a reckoner working subterfuge within our ranks. @Orlok, What is this fairly useful role that you speak of?- 366 replies

Kynedath expeditiously locates a bookmark, places it in his book, puts the book on the table, gets up, walks over to the offered tray of bookies, takes two of them, turns around, walks back to his recliner, places his two bookies beside his book, picks up his book, opens it, takes the bookmark out, begins reading again, leans over to pick up a bookie, takes a bite out of it and immediately sighs with pleasure. "Storming LOVE Raoden!" Can I help you enjoy it more? "Yes, stop talking while I'm eating."

Kynedath looked up to check the time and was startled by a figure standing in the shadows. He wondered how he hadn't noticed as he had walked in. Were they simply lurking in the shadows as a source of entertainment? He didn't know. Anything seemed possible with this group. He decided to find out. "Hello friend. Why are you standing there alone?"

Orlok is said to have three votes against him while only PK and Ada seem to have targeted him. Is this a typo or the result of an ability? I ask because Anamax didn't have four votes because of his enhanced relationships.- 366 replies

Quick Fix Game 12: The Time of Reckoning
Kynedath replied to phattemer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ok so if I am reading this situation correctly, then we all want to kill Anamax because he posted and voted once at the beginning of this cycle and hasn't since. Well so has Araris and I don't see anybody going after him. If nothing else, then Anamax has the excuse of wanting to create a sort of discussion. From my limited experience, this is nothing new for him. Araris on the other hand, has absolutely no reason for his single vote on Ada. I am not saying that Araris is evil, I am saying that this vote train has no logical reason visible to me to be voting for Anamax. Please explain to me your reasoning.- 366 replies

Whoa there Hellscythe. Almost sounds like you are trying to kill Anamax right there. Your reasoning is lacking in reason. You don't like his playstyle? It seems to me like you want him dead. We know that he probably won't reply if his previous games suggest anything, so was that out just an attempt to shrug off some suspicion by giving him a chance that you don't think he'll take?- 366 replies

Kynedath replied to phattemer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, this early on in the game, I don't really think that I can actually form any suspicions. I know that this section of the game is about gaining information, but my information gathering skills are pretty low-quality. It would probably be for the best for me if I just observed and made assumptions and judgements off of that. Plus, I haven't been the best judge of character in the past. I think (at least from the one other game that I have played) that I can be of more use in late game, mostly because of the amount of effort it takes me to get a solid case against someone. If I have to, then I will accuse someone, but they are probably going to be active because I have reasons, albeit small and probably wrong reasons, to distrust them. But If you want my opinion, then Elbereth because I don't know what to make of his comment about being an epic. It may just be a joke or it may be a comment about her admiration of the reckoners or it may be a diversion or she may just be bad at being a reckoner or it may be something that is way over my head. Other than that, I don't know.- 366 replies
