  1. No. In WoD Syl said that they are 'dead' spren that cannot be revived so long as their owner is dead. Unless you were able to reanimate the Radiant who owned the blade, you could not revive the spren. From what I have gathered, each shardblade is permanently bound to a single Radiant. When a new Radiant is initiated, a new spren that has never been bonded to a human will become a unique shardblade for them. Should they break their oath, the bond is severed, and the spren 'dies.' Presumably, if the spren is in the form of a blade at the time of the betrayal, (or by some other means) the dead spren remains a blade permanently, and can be wielded by anyone who wields it, though to a lesser extent than the original owner. One wouldn't even need to revive the shardblades, as people across Roshar are gaining KR powers/spren, and with the news of the Alethi reforming the order, people will flood into Urithuru seeking to improve their grasp on the power/save the world. On top of that, they have two Honourblades that they can use to give anyone they want Windrunner/Bondsmith powers (though the later is currently held by Dalinar) EDIT: Dalinar is not the holder of Taln's blade anymore, he is bound to the Stormfather instead, so 2 free KR powers for anyone they choose. EDIT EDIT: Nevermind, the blade they got from the madman "Taln" was not the one he had when he appeared in Kholinar. That, plus Dalinar hearing screams must mean it's just a regular shardblade. Only 1 free KR power up for grabs. They'll probably just give it to Adolin.
  2. I believe that after being tipped off by Kaladin (and believing him, at least to the point of being suspicious) Dalinar put him in a position that had no real meaning (at the time he did not know of any Radiants, or of their resurgence... heheh) so that he could keep an eye on him. In the end, the position payed off as Amaram got greedy and tried to take the Honourblade that Talenel'Elin had been found with. I don't think Dalinar ever had any real intention of having Amaram as the commander of the Knights Radiant, and was putting Amaram in that position with the hope that he would find a reason to get him out of it when the need arose.
  3. I don't know if anyone here plays League of Legends (some of you probably do) but if you've seen the Shen Rework, you've seen his new passive sword. I just noticed how much it behaves like a shardblade. He leaves it somewhere, then summons it. After a short delay it appears in his hand and he gets 3 empowered auto attacks. Not to mention it emanates stormlight (or a close enough approximation) It reminded me of a shardblade so I thought I'd post something about it.
  4. WoR Spoilers I think that from what was thought and said during their time in the chasms, they developed some fondness for one another after learning how similar their stories are. However, I feel that Shallan explained pretty well afterward (to herself and the reader) that she would rather be with Adolin. If Adolin were not there to dwarf it, I could see Kaladin being Shallan's main romantic interest. Now Kaladin, on the other hand, did show fondness for Shallan as well, but from his statements, (eg. that he would never fall in love with a Lighteyed woman,) it is likely that he is not actually in love with her romantically, but feels that they are related by experience. His aversion to Lighteyed girls could be based off his general dislike for Lighteyes or his previous romantic encounters, (Tarah, Laral), Tarah being the Darkeyes he met during his time in Amaram's army and Laral being his childhood friend turned Brightlady. In my opinion, he does like Shallan, but not romantically, or is at least happy to let her be with Adolin, he mentions at some point after getting out of the chasm that he liked Adolin, and thought they were a good match for one another. I am not sure of how their opinions of each other have changed since they both got their Suddenly Radiant powers. I am interested on how this will effect his aversion to Lighteyed Women, as we do not have enough information to determine the reason for it, but I can imagine he will be torn about his new Light Eyes. Wow, that got a little convoluted. I'll just summarize it. Kaladin and Shallan like each other but are fine with ShallanxAdolin. Oh, and I just thought of some ship names, they've probably already been thought up but #Shadolan, #Shalladin, #Dalinavani, #JasnahKhohoid

  6. Hello everyone! Just introducing myself to the forum. I go by Demonic or Squid, or Will, more personally. I picked up Mistborn: The Final Empire about a year ago and since then I've read my way through a number of Sanderson's books: Mistborn: The Final Empire Mistborn: Well of Ascension Mistborn: Hero of Ages Mistborn: The Alloy of Law Elantris The Stormlight Archives: Way of Kings And have just finished: The Stormlight Archives: Words of Radiance I am starting to read: Mistborn: Shadows of Self (so no spoilers please) I love Sanderson's books and am rarely able to put them down for long once I get a hold of one, and am working my way through his collection. I hope to have some interesting conversations about his books, and am eager for recommendations of similar series by other authors. -DemonicSquid
