What happens when you burn Trellium? [Secret History Spoilers]
Yata replied to HonorIsDead's topic in Mistborn
It's a bit Necro (not much but a bit) but recently we discovered with a WoB, you have to store separately the powers in a Nicrosilmind therefore I is quite impossible the BoM may have the "A-Trellium" whatever if a Mistborn could or not burn it. -
We have Pattern that said the Stormfather suffered in the recreance but survived...this probably mean he survived an Oathbreaking but it is unsure of surviving another (this is the reason He doesn't want to bond Dalinar easily). PS: just a logic issues with your idea, just because there may be three Bondsmiths, we can't say at the Recreance there were 3 Bondsmiths...The Stormfather may be unbound at that time and other "godspren" may be killed
-
It's not really relevant from your point but only 9 of the 10 orders broke their Oaths....but we don't have sure proofs about who was of the orders didn't take part in the Recreance
-
He didn't convert Stormlight into Breath, He simply feed of the Breath. What a Returned actually needs is Investiture to consume to stay alive, He may use almost whatever he has avaliable (On Scadrial he may sustain with the Mist, on Taldain probably simply be under the Sun will be enough, enter in a Perpendicularity will work too, ecc...)
-
I imagine you talk about Hoid's method, in the end it's not far for the "destiny" I wrote in the previous post....but recently a WoB seems to indicate that Hoid uses Fortune to arrive when/where it's needed
-
Marsh is quite "young", He probably is really low dependant by the Atium compound. The Atiumind is probably really small and may be also under the skin
-
The only ones I know are: - Density (from intangibility to indistructible) - Destiny (with the hypotesis Hoid uses F-Lerasium to know where he needs to go)

Yes the Investiture can't be created or destroyed, it only change. About your doubt, to a Spiritual being like a Shard his "power" and his "body" are the same thing. What Leras (Preservation) did, is to manage to chunk off a piece of Ati (Ruin)'s power and place it into a System (the Pits of Hatsin) that condensate it in solid form (Atium). This was made to leave Ruin as powerful as him in order to keep the balance between them...He also sacrificated a meaningful part of his mind (something separate from the Shard's power) to create the Ruin's prison. But you have to notice, the word is "prison" but actually Ruin isn't really imprisoned or something like that....Simply every action Ruin took was auto-countered by Preservation. As you may see Ruin can influence people or know the outside world while he was "trapped". A Shardpool's Investiture upon use, return to the Shard from where it comes (in the case of the Well to Preservation, for the Black Lake to Ruin). But it will leak again in the physical after some time (many people used the Well in thousands of years after all). Now Harmony came to be, it's really unclear what happened to the perpendicularities (canon name from what we called Shardpool)...It's possible they are still there (maybe in other locations) or maybe now Harmony has a single Perpendicularity...some clue in the books seems to point as a single Harmony's perpendicularity but it's hard to say. As I said before when the Atium was burned it will return to the Pits to be condensed again in the physical Realm after some amount of time. This is a not standard outcome born from the power stoled by Preservation. In a standard case the Investiture in a godmetal would return to the Shard....The normal metals are tricky, on Scadrial all is made of Ruin & Preservation therefore they would gain a metal's investiture when the metal is burned (they may decide to re-uses it to made new metals but it's not something automatic, Scadrial could in theory run off of metals)...but off world this isn't true, there the metal are (probably) made of Adonalsium's investiture and this mean that we don't know where they return when burned.

@Stark in TLR's reign the Inquisitors have a variable number of spikes, Marsh for example have 11 Spikes when TLR died. Notice that is simply because they have not an extreme stack of Spikes and they re-use them or try always to find new "donors". They didn't have only powers Spikes probably and they have not only a single spike for a specifica power (at least the Misting based), lastly they probably didn't have some uselss power gifted as A-Gold...As you may see, the number of Spikes isn't really fixed.

I am with @Oversleep here, or the change is something that is retrocompatible with the older books (once we understand how to look it of course) or probably it's a Cosmere's flaw and I will be really sad with it.

More of a shot down theory - Terris are native to Scadrial
Yata replied to Paladin Brewer's topic in Cosmere Discussion
If the Terris were not Scadrial people, there would be some continuity issues...I am happy to shout down that theory. Thanks for asking -
@Thanatos Honor died a lot after the Last Desolation, He was still alive in the Recreance as his memory of the event proved

@maxal you have probably right...probably the only way for Adolin to be not catched is to exploit the Highprince's division and the caos of moving the Warcamps to Urithuru created. There will be tons of anomalies in that days, almost everything is an anomaly. PS: I never see your face and I know you are a girl, but for a while this will be my mental image of yourself:

How you guys think the Spiritual Realm functions?

Ok I found the WoB I talked about: -

As far as I understood the identity has nothing to do with our identity's meaning...it's not something part OR linked to your psyche/memory/feel/ecc... It's a "simple" Spiritual Attribute to the Investiture that make Investiture works along each other or aganist each other. It is explained in a WoB who talk about Surgebinder and draining Enemy's Shardplate. -
How to Make Koloss without Spikes
Yata replied to Faceless Mist-Wraith's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Like he said, probably be infused of Stormlight (and his Healing) would work aganist the Seal not helping it...but it is hard to say -
How to Make Koloss without Spikes
Yata replied to Faceless Mist-Wraith's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It's easy in theory but probably impossible in practice. You will need to change the soul of the subject to provide more investiture than he/she already have...it's quite as hard as turn someone into a misting, well probably still harder. Without considerate of course the "too different" Forgery's problem. -
Yes I thing something Selish related as the ability to share Stormlight with the Seon/Skaze to activate their Symbols. I talk under the assumption that the ability to drawn in Stormlight is some basic ability gained with a Bond of every type (but it is just a theory)

It's possible (but it may be aganist another idea of mine) the Oathpact works like a "Investiture pump". It extracts ambient Investiture from the system and pushes it outside of the system. THis would have a conseguence of made a Shard's Invesiment there more easy...quite automatic (If we imagine a Shard's Investiment works like Magical Osmosis) in the system and this bound the Shard there, because they can't easily deInvest.
-
I exposed somewhere the idea that the Oathpact was an aggrement between Honor and the GR's People (with the Heralds as rappresentatives) to not abandon them. It's a way to calm down people who arrived in an hostile envirorment (Roshar), to say them that their gods (Honor & Cultivation) will not go away. The Oathpact made impossible for a Shard to leave GR System (how this is possible it's hard to say) and once Odium arrived He was uncapable of leave the system too. Of course this is just a possibility.

Electrum is really good as Allomantic metal, It sucks just because we compare it with the Atium...but is actually unfair
