  1. @rjl yes there is a WoB somewhere, now I can't search it, but you probably will be able to find it. Regard the point 1, sure it's possible there is a specific action/actions that may cause a Desolation...but indeed I see no reason to exclude the raw number as troublesome. Before Honor was there to regulate how many Spren were avaliable, now there are a lot of more Spren...and this may be troublesome. Of course it's just a possibility
  2. Regardless of what He did with the Lerasium once he obtained, we have a WoB about "He originally searched the Lerasium to obtain allomancy"

    Gemhearts

I think more "advanced" species may bypass this bait for spren (like the human do) but honestly it's a weak argument. There is a theory about the Greatshell as helper in the desolation for Cultivation, growing Polestone to be used by the Radiant...It's a possiblity, I don't like it but it is a possibility
  4. I start from the sure anwer: 3 - Nale has his own Honorblade Now 1- I think the problem Nale talked about is the raw number of RK on Roshar, if there are too much of them, there is a small chance of a Desolation. Of course allowing a single order to exist you actually reduce greatly the possible number of RK...Much more if the allowed order is strictly controlled you may decide to stop its grown when you want. 2- Spren seems to not know very well the mechanics of Oathpact/Desolation/ecc.... A Spren may follow his own purpose without knowing if this is good or bad in the great scheme of things

    Gemhearts

I think the Gemheart are a biolocial tool to help the GreatShell's Spren bond. Probably a real good one definition is "biolocial Fabrial" as @Blightsong said (also if this definition has some weird ramifications). About the possibility of keeping Investiture in Polestone regardless of the Investiture's source...I am really doubtful, to me the Polestones' ability to hold stormlight is something internal to the Stormlight's nature...But of course no actual proofs
  6. Actually no, not every Scadrial Human is able to become an Allomancer....BUT there were (and are) of course guys who never discovered to be an actual misting just because they never tried. In the Final Empire, there were Alluminium/Duralluminium/electrum/Chromium/Nicrosil/Cadmius and Bendalloy Misting amoung the popolation, but they were unable to discover it because those metal where unknown or hidden or impossible to gather
  7. I read the whole topic, and I have to say to me the main candidate at the moment are both....weird: 1) Shades because like someone said, it's not a proper magic system 2) Voidbinding, I want to place it in the candidates because we know at least one of the Unmade may (probably) performe a soul/investiture's stealing to fuel future-sight.
  8. Well you may notice it with in-book facts...There were multiple Desolations (not 99 like the myths says but multiple) but The Shattering and H&C&O's birth happened only 5-6k years before WoTK's prologue. This mean this multiple Desolations have to happened in a relative small timeframe.
  9. The problem with the Shardplate-Fabrial theory is: Why only the Radiants have those armor if it's possible to craft them "at will" ? The Double Manifestation of a Radiant spren, is something impossible from WoB (for example you could not make a shardbow&shardarrow). Much more if the Plate is made of a dead radiant spren..why did the Plate not give any bad feedback to the Radiant ?
  10. No more waffles for me, I am back
  11. Nightblood had originally another name, but Vasher and his wife changed it when they saw Nightblood's power and the user's look when it is fully used
  12. Yeah thanks I didn't notice the error
  13. Yeah the main possibility is the Listeners' Gods are simply the Unmades...Some of their songs, seem to explicity state this

    RACE!

I miss something. The Edgedancer could add new pushes with the hands (for example) while he slid....Or is there some problem I didn't considerate ? The extra push would be not very much, but a bit a bit he increase his speed
  15. Oh no, with your description I will imagine for a while Nale and Szeth like Wendy and Peter Pan
  16. Thanks Eki, I din't realize this possibility...sure it's a dangerous one, but possible. On the "they expect Szeth to follow them", maybe they simply don't know Szeth is "special" and they simply assume He may fly with them.
  17. First of all , sorry for the late answer...I tried to find the WoB but I can't remember if it was from Reddit or from an Event, I will link it here once I find it. I know Feruchemy isn't perfect or to be more precise I can't honestly call it in that way, once you actually overcome the phisical limit of Human Anatomy (end your Soul doesn't like it). But we don't know if this is a problem of the user or if happen for a Realmatic reason (for example your Soul's resistence). You have absolutelly right, I have to avoid to write post at late night, my english becomes awful. What I wanted to say is: The rule "tap more from Nicrosil and I become a more powerful magic user" may be horrible wrong. Some magic systems may benefit of "greater strenght" while others may not benefit from this kind of things (I don't want to put spoiler tag, but for example a lot of selish one and the Nalthisian one). Therefore also if you could get a boost of "greater strenght" with Nicrosil (if I misreaded the WoB) there is no implication that this will work with every magic system.

    RACE!

Like other said before without strange problem the only matter is how long they have to run/slide. There is a limit to the F-Steel's Speed (also with infinite charge in steelmind) before He burn himself or He reaches the terminal speed (thanks to the air resistance). A Friction user (Edgedancer or Duskbringer) will have no upper limit but He need a lot of time to reaches the opponent's speed So in a pure theoric scenario (with infinite amount of Investiture for both of them) the Steelrunner may stay first for a while (I don't know how much it is "a while") and then the Friction user will become first. In a real scenario probably the Steelrunner may win for short race while a Friction-user may win marathon-like race.
  19. Cognitive Self and Identity is not the same thing, the only effect of be without Identity is to remove your Soul's Invesiture-Interference for that time. it will not change nothing to your Cognitive Self (except be virtually vulnerable to any kind of attack). Actually all the Connections you could store/tap are part of yourself. If you could store/tap Connection to a place (and we see this ability in action), you will probably be able to store Connection to a time (your birthdate or any other date)
  20. In 1000 years Feruchemy seems to be unchanged also if all its user were removed by the genetic pool and only the one with potential-feruchemy remained to make it spawn again. This may point to a not decrease system with every user is the same without different strenght. Actually this doesn't prove nothing...If you have a system that works perfectly you can't obtain a better system, instead the efficiency may be of course lower (and we are unsure also of this part). Also the "fact" you may Store/Tap Investiture (in Nicrosil) with the result of different scale of powers is quite unsure, for example we know you can't become "stronger" than the one who put the Spirit-Web in the Nicrosilmind (for WoB). This of course is true for any kind of Spirit-Web Stored in Nicrosil, but also if this wasn't true...There isn't the implication "your power have to become stronger if you tap more Spirit-Web regardes of how the Magic system works" the Feruchemy is already strictly limitless (there are some limits but they aren't magic limit...only outcome of using Feruchemy in some ways)
  21. Identity didn't change nothing about yourself...it's just the "signature" of your Soul. Storing all of it would not change your mental image or your Cognitive self, and in the end your Cognitive may believe whatever it wants, your Soul knows the truth...and fiercely counters the anomaly. Instead playing with Durallumin (and Connectios) may obtain some result on this topic, if you are able to erase your Connection to your birthdate (something we don't know if possible) you could avoid the Soul's Correction
  22. He calls Nightblood simply "sword" with an honorific....because Nightblood didn't tell him its name yet
  23. As far as I know there isn't yet a specific number of years....I think He needs to decide how the books have to be in the whole Cosmere's timeline. For example Brandon said AoL is after the fifth of SA but maybe also after the 6th.
  24. I still think that all the Feruchemists are naturally the same and the only way to have "different strenghts" is to make a Feruchemical power deteriorate (for example with Hemalurgy loss). In this context a "weak" Feruchemist can't store efficiently (something like I store 100% of my weight but the Metalmind recive only 90% and 10% is lost).
  25. I can't say for the first, but I think Cognitive and Spiritual realms are quite immune to the physical spacetime stretch. Spiritual realm is space indipendant and almost time indipendat Cognitive realm is location and time dipendant but their manifestations are forged by sentient mind so I don't think the spacetime stretch affect it
