Theory: Devotion and Dominion are actually a "Spintered Shard"
Yata replied to Yata's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Unfortunatly it took months before SoS reach where I am And I am sorry if my explanation is quite unclear, but when I traslate it to English, I find hard to use the most "linear and clear way to explain". Anyway, my thoughts was about (in a more schematics way): - D&D splintered by Oduim. - After X time the Splinter begin to became sentience. - I don't think they jump from "no mind" to "full sentience beins" - There are a initial time with Instint-drive Splinter (from now called "bug Splinters XD) based widely on their Shard's Intent - Some of the Bug Splinters of Devotion and Dominion became to merge, at the beginning I thought about the Unity's Religions. But the Dominion-Devotion complements based on the master-servant interpretation may be better. - This Group of Bug Splinter continue to "evolve" but its oddly born made it chaotic. - The Bug Splinters that doesn't merge continue their Evolution and became the Seaon and Skaze. - Of course the Group is what we call Dor. I am with you when you say that there isn't proofs and I don't want to present my theory lika a Fact of course :-) -
mmm I'm not sure if a "Standard" Cognitive Shadows take with itself enaugh Investiture (It probably have less investiture than a flamespren). The Honor's Splinters had an well above the average Investiture and I could easy accept that one of them became it's Cognitive Shadow. But for a Human's Shadow I find hard that it can bond with someone.

I am not sure if you read word of radiance therefore:

It's the result of a question made by a Sharder (seonid if I Remember right). To me, it's a great piece of information, now we had a more complete (just a little) views of the 16 Shards of Adonalsium and maybe also the reason of the hostility to Bavadin in The Letter.
-
I have to misunderstood your post then. I said simply that "probably every Shardworld as his own magic number but we don't find it yet" not that all the "magic numbers" are 16.
-
Well but you posted a Wob that says that: A Splinter is a term used by certain people in the cosmere for power of Adonalsium which has no person caring for it, no... no person holding it, which has attained self-awareness. Therefore a Splinter is a "Investiture" separate by the Shardholder with self-awareness.

Theory: Devotion and Dominion are actually a "Spintered Shard"
Yata replied to Yata's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Sorry Ari but the topic went far from my initial point, I talked about Unity not as a Full-Shard without a holder. At the beginning (the first post) I told about "Unity" like a new Double-Class-Shard (like Harmony) but Splintered (like Honor). It's quite what happening if someone (for example Odium) kills Sazed and Splinters Harmony. And my point was about the Splinters of both of Shards who find them compatible (and with the Hierarchy interpretation, quite complementary) and begin to merge. But the result is (except Seon and Skaze) a lot of Devotion-Dominion Splinters. That on Sel everyone call Dor. The Theory is quite: The Dor is a Dismembrered Corpse of a new Duble-Class-Shard. -
Ok with "the size doesn't matter" thing but I am not sure that you can put more than a Spike in the same bind point. My logic says No but there isn't proof.
-
With a Dead Spren is quite "easy" and you obtain the Shardblade. With a living Spren is quite hard because the bond need the right "Ethics" from the Human and also the Spren could simply release the Bond (it's not pleasure to him but better then stay bonded with somebody hated by him.

Theory: Devotion and Dominion are actually a "Spintered Shard"
Yata replied to Yata's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In this theory I used the Religions' core as if their was inspired by someone who know a lot about the Realmatic Theorys. Of couse there is no 100% ;-) But with that interpretation of Devotion and Dominion, the two Shards' Intent are quite compatible and both had the Unity as ultimate target. We know that powers without "controlling mind" may develop sentience. Therefore with many centuries and the right "will" the splinters may try to became one. -
During the Final Empire we had a lot of ash in the area. With bacteria designed to dispose the cinder. Therefore we had an huge amount of raw material and a catalyst for its reactions. Virtually may be in that way.

He took this to the extreme, forcing Mr. Sanderson to not publish White Sand's book. And this is the reason of the change of format, from book to graphyc novel
-
Just because we don't find it maybe. Remember that they both have sequels and we find about the "16" in Mistborn only in the end (if i don't remember wrong in the Hero of Ages).

I don't think that is a "one-shot-feeding" but that in the week you consume a breath-amount of Investiture. But also if it's a one-shot, a sphere could be enaugh, "one breath" don't seem have a significant amount of Investiture, the standard Nalthis people have a few (but very few) Investiture over the normal and to be Honest (but it's pure speculation) maybe an average Scandrial is above of them. @About the Divine Breath sentience: The Splinter to be a Splinter have to be Sentience and indeed it must have a own Intent. It's not a simple "concentration of Investiture". This kind of "Concetration of Investiture" are the divine metals on Scadrial (Atium and Lerasium) for example. @Nightblood is actually an Artificial Spren (Brandon call it a "robot spren"), they take a quite great amount of investiture (1000 breath) and pack together with some "command". The nature of the "host" and "Command" is a lot of different but it's the same "in less scale" of a Returned (even if the Divine Breath keep at least 5 times the investiture of Nightblood).

The "Harmony's limited power" is about that seems that on Scadrial (Mistborn planet) Ruin and Preservation invested a lot to create the life, much more to create Sentience life and another part of power to balance the two powers. Then if you want also the theorys: Some people (And I am with they) think that R&P actually created the whole Scadrial as a planet from nothing or something quite similar to "nothing". Stormlight Archive Spoiler

The only thing I could thing is about "destroy part of the target's cognitive aspect" (memory, Intellect, will). The result may be someone in vegetative state. EDIT: Another option is the "melting" of the target without any sense of self.

Who Are The Most Powerful People/Beings In The Cosmere?
Yata replied to Patar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In the Marsh VS Szeth, the result (for me) is different if they fight on Roshar or on other Shardworld. On Roshar we don't know what kind of "extra powers" Szeth gains from the bond. In other Shardworld I think that Marsh win. But to be honest, I think that Rashek was much more powerfull than Marsh. He was probably more "allomanticaly strong" than Marsh, and He was a true fullborn (the only in the History) with abilities and "combo" that Marsh may not use. -
Sorry I have misunderstood your post. Hypothesis: Well we could think that Vin and her twin sister was about at the same level of Allomantic power but one developed the full mistborn power and the other only a Seeker power. Maybe the Initial power of the Spike was very high and with the Hight power of Vin, the "only 5%" was Enaugh.

You are not contradicting me. The fact that is "you may steal other Manifestation of Investiture", but it don't mean that the Hemalurgy's rule change and there is a new focus (anything not metal).

Seems that you stole the "power's level" of the Victim. Therefore if (example) you steal Brass from Vin and give it to March (pre-Inquisitor) without decay. The result is Marsh wit over the double of his previous Brass's power. With the decay this Amount of power fade away of course.

There is a Wob about the "time" passed by the Shattering to the WoK's Prologue. And it passed "quite" 6000 years (but Brandon stated that could change this a little) therefore we had thousand of years but not millions.
-
Great work! I'm reading for the first time White Sand and This information is very usefull indeed.
-
Probably not, but we don't even know how the "radiant spren" are actually "born".
-
To be honest I think you mix something together. With your (and mine) definition of a Returned (that can be wrong of course). A Returned is a creature, similar to a Knight Radiant (not to a Spren): One Sentient Physical Beins (Dead but the human) and One Splinter of a Shard (The Divine breath). And if (like the WoB suggest) bonds are granted new powers on Roshar, a Returnd of default may grant the powers because he is actually in a Bond. About the feeding of Stormlight, I said (in the first post) about how Vasher coud feed without any (logistic) problems. And also having a "stormlight consumption" it possible that the radiance is suppres (like the Shallan's Illusion). But more easy Vasher could wake up every morning, absorb the Light of a Sphere and after some seconds, put it again the remain in the Sphere.

We don't know what it be. Could be a Big cosmic Force (like the Dark One) or just some peoples.
